    Water Exercise Classes

This is my favorite exercise! I can't wait to get back to it. My Dr. says I have to wait 1 more wk. I felt the same way as you before I started. At my gym the older ladies were skinny and the ones my age were big. I was very comfortable. You have to remember the the young, pretty girls, with the hot boddies, are out on the floor working out with the guys. Go for it. It is so much fun, it doesn't seem like exercise. I can only do 20-30 min. on the treadmill, but I can last an hour in the water. You can adjust your workout, to fit you. I started out real slow, and easy. If you try it let us know how you like it:thumbup:

    One month since...

I just wanted to say Hi, and wish you luck. You and I were banded on the same day, and we will have our first fill the same day.
  4. I am 2 wks Post-op now . A friend just asked me what the hardest part of this has been. Without hesitation, I answered. For me it was the 2 wk. Pre-op diet! I was hungry and grouchy all the time. I just kept reminding myself why I was doing this. I also spent alot of time here. The encouragment from other people really helped. It also helped to read post from other people going through the exact samething. I made my protien shakes with diffrent flavors of crystal light. This helped me with the milky taste. Good Luck!

    @`~~ May 2010 Workout Challenge @,~~

Wow, good job! yesterday I walked 30 min. Todays walk was 45 min. I feel so much better today. I went grocery shopping, and cleaned my house only for an hour though. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the motivation:thumbup:
  10. I know it sounds crazy to walk when your in pain, but believe me IT WORKS! Feb 22nd I had gall blatter removed. Doc told me to walk, because you get the same gas pains, shoulder pain, and tightness in chest. Well I did very little walking after surgery, cause I'm sure if Dr new my pain level, he would not want me to walk.(wrong) Anyways it took along time to recover. Those gas pains would not go away!! Now after be banded on april 29, I feel great. I listened to the wonderful people who post on here. I have been taking four 15 min. walks a day, and Gas X strips. It has only been a wk. since surgery, and I feel great. I hope you feel better soon!
  11. Hi, Hope your sugery went well. You got banded 1 day after me.

  12. Go raiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning late April Band Bunnies!!!

I got to move to puree yesterday!! Just in time, as it was my daughters last softball game, so a few of us went out to dinner. It was easier than I thought. Sure everybody's food looked good, but I was so happy with my mashed potatos w/gravy. I only ate about half. I was so full, wich is a no no. My Dr. had told me to stop BEFORE I got full. I was very uncomfortable for about an hour. I went to bed very happy. It was the first time in 3 wks. I could go to sleep and not be starving:smile2:
  15. Today is the first day I really feel like myself again. I am still a little sore, but manageable. Rally sick of liquids. Are you hungry all the time? When do you start puree?

Bandster Hell for the April Bunnies

Hey, I am 6 days post op. I am so hungry all the time. It is not just "head hunger" I can hear my stomach growling. I wish I had words of advice, but I am not handling it all that great. Just wanted you to know your not alone. Hopefully someone will post some good advice for both of us,
  17. Hi, I am just wondering how you are doing. We were banded on the same day.

    What is this feeling???

Thanks for asking about this. I was banded the 29th and I am experiencing the exact samething. I was trying to explain the feeling to my husband, but could not put it into words.

    One more week

Ok It might be that I am a blonde, but it was not until my 2nd car ride that I figured out if you apply slight preassure to the pillow on your stomach it really helps escpecially going over bumps. I just thought people suggested it to keep seatbelt from rubbing my tummy.
  20. Sorry I know I read this somewhere but cant find and to sore to keep looking. I have gas pains What product do I use for that and ALSO what can I take for constipation? Thanks

    Loss and, well...loss.

WOW! Thank you for sharing this with us. I have been banded for 4 days. Exercise is something I have been dreading, but know it is something I have to do. I think I am going to try the same 8 wk commitment with a trainer. Once the Doc says its ok. I belong to a gym, I just never go. Great story!!

And Monday Morning is coming soon! The start of a new week!

I am so impressed with your attitude! Thank you for all your encouraging words. You are truly an inspiration. Well done on the 82 pounds!! I too will be praying for you and your family.

    Happy band-day to me.

Yes I woke up Thurs. and started singing happy band day to me. I was so excited, its here, its really here. MY SURGERY DAY!! I started talking a mile a minute to my husband. I jump up and get in the shower(still singing) I didn't even care that I couldn't have coffee. I was in the car ready to go in no time. You see, I am not a morning person. It takes me 30 min to get out of bed after waking up, and I really don't like any conversation until my 3rd cup of coffee. I am late to everything. In Feb. I was 25 min late for my gallbladder surgery, and a nervous wreck. I was not nervous at all. Everything went very well. The hardest part about the whole thing was the IV. I have a hard time with needles. I have fainted a few times in the past. She had a hard time getting the needle in. She kept poking and moving:sad: I told her I was feeling light headed. She pulled it out of my hand, non to gentle I might add. This is not good. She puts the needle in my other hand, and then commented on how I did not look well. I told her I was a few seconds a way from fainting. I have been through this enough to know. She laid me down and with in a few minutes I was fine. Walked into surgery at 10:45 am. Still not nervous, and even laughed at my doctors little joke. Next thing I know they are waking me up in recovery at 11:30 am. Wow that was fast. I had some pain, but they gave me med. I left at 2:20 pm. The ride was a little tough, but all in all not bad. My husband went out and bought me a recliner, and got that all set up for me. I slept so so in that.first day after surgery I started get the "Gas Pains" Wow they were just like contractions. When I was in labor with my 4Th son, I started contractions on April 1. On April 2ND I was still in labor, and they made me walk and walk and walk some more. I gave birth to him on April 3rd 1992. Sorry for the flashback As you can see these gas pains brought back allot of memories lol. Anyways, I took the gas x and four 15 min walks, and this did the trick. I am so thankful for the post about this subject. 2ND day after surgery- I woke up feeling pretty good , still on the pain meds. I was able to go to my daughters softball game. I was a little uncomfortable in the chair and a little loopy from meds but all and all, It went well. I am starting to get hungry for the first time. My husband is BBQ chicken. Man it smells good. I was able to be thankful for him cooking for our daughter instead of feeling sorry for myself for not being able to eat. It took effort though. I am doing OK on my water, chicken broth, protein shakes, jello, and a lot of crystal light. Today is sun morning. I woke up in less pain. Still sore around the port and incision but not bad. I have to say this has been a lot easier than the gallbladder. I am very happy:thumbup:

Good Morning late April Band Bunnies!!!

I was banded on 29th. I am feeling better than I expected. I had the gas pains pretty bad yesterday. I took 4 walks through out the day, and the Gas X. This really helped a lot. Today I have some pain in left shoulder. I am able to do pain meds. every 5 hours instead of 3. I am hungry today, but it is managable. I am definatly happy with my decision.
