Mine is more a "non-story."  After recovering from lap-band surgery, I lost approximately 18 pounds.  I have gained most of that 18 pounds back and cannot lose weight no matter what I do.  My doctor's PA says I'm doing something wrong, and even insinuated that I was eating lots of ice cream, "closet eating," etc.  I'm not doing that.  I eat about 40% of what I used to eat, and I don't eat red meat or bread.  Anyone else would probably have lost their weight by now, and I'm told I am in a group of only about 11% of those who are not doing well on my current doctor's program.  (That made me feel really good!)  I'm hoping to find someone on this forum who could give me some insight into what path to take.  My internist wrote my surgeon and asked that my lap band be removed and asked that I receive a gastric bypass, but I was told I have not given the lap band a chance to work.  (I am two (2) years and nine (9) months with my lap band).  I was told it is not considered a failure for four (4) years.  I might add that obesity runs in my family--I am from a family of fatties who generally eat healthy, are not binge eaters, and do not eat a lot of sweets or fatty foods.
