  1. 3 years ago this month I had the lap band surgery in Mexico. I would like to say I am a success story. But, I am not. I started out with a bang and lost 45 pounds in the first 3 months. Then slowed to 2 a month. Then I started gaining and couldn't figure it out. I started a having sore throat and swelling. This went on for 1 year as I slowly gained back the weight I lost. As I had no insurance, I could not go to the doctors....finally I went to the doctors. Turned out that my thyroid was the problem. I had thyroid cancer. Now, no thyroid and I am fighting to relose the weight that I gained back. I am just 10 pounds down from where I was 3 years ago....

Looking for locals in Orange County.

Hi fellow bandsters, I had my surgery March 20th. My first fill April 24th. Both were done in Mexico. I am looking for a local doctor to do a fill. Does anyone know of one who will do fills with a floroscope? Also, willing to do it for someone who had the surgery in Mexico? Any help is appreciated. I live in Newport Beach. I do not have insurance, that is why I went to Mexico. My weight loss is only 31 pounds so far. My last fill did nothing, the weight loss is all me. I need another fill and I can't go back to Mexico as they only do fills on Saturday and I work all weekends.

    fluoroscopy fill question??

I just had my first fill last saturday. I don't feel any different and I can eat normal portions. The only difference is I need to chew completely before swallowing. I do have a question. I get a pain in the left side of my chest when taking meds or eating. It isn't all the time, just often enough to concern me. Or should I be concerned? Will it stop? My blood pressure is normal. My surgery date was 3/20/10.
