Woke up sick today, sore throat, eyes burning, just feel like dog poop. Anyhow, did not go the gym, but brought my stuff to work and heading down to the gym at lunch. I have my lasik eye surgery on Thursday so I'm hoping I can get over this before then. I've avoided the scales all week, I am just trying to live my life and make good choices. I do go for a fill on Friday, and I'm hoping that will jump start my progress again. Until then, the scale is my enemy. lol.

Exercise challenge - 2008
Well, woke up with a horrible sore throat this morning, can barely swallow. So, needless to say that I did not make it to the gym. But, I brought my stuff to work, so I will work out at lunch today. Its nice having a great gym at work, so I have no excuse not to exercise, I belong to a gym too. So I have many opportunities to workout. Did anyone catch the oprah show yesterday. They had some amazing weightloss successes. Bob Green was on and it was "Live your best life in 2008". It just motivated me a bit more to be the success story I've always wanted to be. So, in order to be a success, exercise is a must! Well, not sure if I will be online the rest of the week because I am far behind at work and I'm having my lasik on Thursday, so I will be off work Thursday and Friday. I will keep plugging away at my exercise too - SULA - you are kicking some serious butt!

Anyone here?
Man - I wish I had the restriction that you guys talk about. it seems I keep trying and trying and I get it for a little bit, and then it disappears. I've never really had to take small bites of food, I've been able to eat anything - without getting stuck. I'm at 3.0 cc's, and I get my fill on Friday. I did experience being too tight once, and I was really completely closed, so I know what it feels like to be too tight. I'm just ready to get the rest of the weight off. I've been stuck for 5 months, no weightloss really, just keep losing the same 5 lbs, over and over. I'm not really going to focus on the scales, and I've been pretty good at staying off of them. I'm trying to change my mind - trying to eat like a normal person, instead of obsessing over my weight, my food etc. I'm very happy I have the band, I'm a little disappointed in myself that I have let myself make bad/poor food choices over the past months. I am ready for the fill on Friday and I think that will give me a jump start in getting my mind right again. I've been exercising, I still feel like I am not giving it my all on the exercise, I guess because I'm so limited in the amount of cardio because of my knee. Anyhow, I know when I first started exercising, I hated it and I forced myself to go to the gym, I barely gave any effort to it, but by the 3 or 4th week, something inside my clicked and I went crazy. I am hoping that happens to me again, so I continue to force myself to the gym. I have my Lasik on Thursday, so I will be off the computer beginning Thursday and for the rest of the week until next Monday. Debbie - you have done great! Lisa, so have you, 90lbs in a year, wow! I do think Exercise is the key to get the weightloss going again. Angyl - wow, did you say 7 lbs from goal? That is awesome! I know what you mean about ordering food at a restraunt, I do the same thing. I've tried to start sharing with my DH now, this helps me in not overeating. Juno - glad you like your new fill doc! The slight unfill might help with the weightloss too, I read on a website that being too tight can cause weightloss stalls. Oh, but your pregnant, so weightloss should not even be a concern. How are you feeling - any morning sickness? I just remember being pregnant and how tired I was the first 3 months. I would go out to my car everyday and have to take a nap. Sula - you aked the million dollar question for me "How do you know when the restriciton is enough"? I keep trying to find this out. It seems that I want to have take small bites of food like everyone else, and I can't seem to get to that point. I'm not sure why. I'm either too lose, too tight. Its frustrating getting to the sweet spot. My doctor said that you should have to work at eating meat, you should not be hungry for 4 hours, and should eat about the size of a lean cuisene tv dinner. Which is about 3 to 4 oz of food he said. Anyhow, I'm praying that my 8th fill will finally do the trick. Mary - you will fit into the smaller scrubs soon, I'm sure of it! Cindi - you keep inspiring me to get to the gym! You have done so great! and you look so good. Jen - Hows things going with you now that you had the revision? Does everything seems to be working correctly now? Baby - thanks for the email, I told my cousin, she is pumped! She had RNY in November last year, she quit losing weight by the 5th month and hasn't lost a pound since. She is hoping that something will help boost her matabolism. I will check in with everyone on Monday, not sure if I will be back online until then due to the amount of work I'm loaded down with at work. Talk to everyone later.

Exercise challenge - 2008
Well, I did pretty good. I did not make the 6 days of exercise, however I did do 5. And I painted all day yesterday, this meant walking up and down steps. My hamstrings are so sore and my arms from painting, so I did get some exercise yesterday for sure. My eating is still a struggle, but it has gotten better. I go for my fill on Friday! Can't wait. I'm still in the challenge, and I will not give up!

Exercise challenge - 2008
I stuck to the 20 minutes on my cardio days, however, sometimes, I would do another 20 to 30 minutes of just regular exercise. Like I would walk on the treadmill later that day after lunch, or when I take a 3:00 break. Sometimes I would go back to the gym and do 30 minutes of the elliptical, not the HIIT, but just regular. I didn't do it all the time, but I would add another 1 hour a week of some type of exercise. Yes, those lunges are killers, but they really work! I remember I couldn't even sit on the toilet the first time I did them. lol. My butt hurt so bad, I could barely walk!

Lori M's Journal 1-2008
I hope you are feeling better. Have you heard of smartlipo? Google it, it is a new proceedure and I hear it works wonders on the chin! I read in your comments you want to get it done, your chin, and smartlipo might be the answer. Best wishes to you for 2008!

Diet
I wish you the best. I didn't have to do the 6 mo diet so I would be of no help. Hopefully your insurance will approve you, but if not, just follow the 6 month plan and get the surgery this summer. I know that is not what you want to hear, and I'm hoping you don't have to. But if worse comes to worse, you can have the surgery this summer. right? What insurance company do you have?

History
girlfriend, your looking at a major compulsive weigher. I'm addicted to the scales! lol. Having the band takes so much work on our part, but it is so rewarding when you see the scales move! Best wishes!

Day 2
Best wishes to you. It is a wise idea to start practicing now the bandster way of eating, the more you lose before surgery, the less you will have to lose after the surgery.

Exercise challenge - 2008
I'm on day 3 too. I did my upper body on Monday and sore too. I worked out twice yesterday, but only for a total of about 40 to 45 minutes combined. I wish I could do more, but working toward that. My knee just won't allow me to push as hard as I want to. It gets sore really fast! However, I was able to do 15 min on the elliptical and before I was only able to do 5 min before my knee gave out. So I can see it is improving!

What do you do for a living?
I work at Verizon too! The insurance did pay for my surgery, just an FYI. And I paid my part out of payflex.

Anyone here?
Cindi - you are inspiring everyday! I am proud to say so far this week, I have made it to the gym EVERYDAY! I am not doing near the amount I used to do before my knee surgery, and I am having some pain after my exercise session, but I am working as hard as I can with my limitations. Eating is getting better, I still need to stay away from the sweets, and I am having cravings for them, but getting better. Trying to satisfy it with yogurt and or sf pudding with added protein powder in it. I know that once I get my fill put back in, I will do better. I have my eye surgery next Thursday, my fill is next Friday, so I expect when I weigh in sometime in Feb. I should see a loss. I am hoping I start losing again, all I've done lately is gain, its quite depressing. However, I am not near the weight I used to be, and I seem to hold steady to up 5 lbs, down 5 pounds. Its like I keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs. Until I get my eating in control, and my fill back, and my exercise intensity up, I am okay with only 5 lbs. Well, gotta get to work, busy day for me today.

1/9.08
Again, did not get up at 5 am, however, one of the reasons is I was at the gym so late last night. I did not get home from the gym until after 11:00 pm, by the time I got tired, it was after midnight. So, needless to say, I did not get up at 5 am. I plan on going again tonight so I will not be getting up at 5 am tomorrow either. I am hoping to switch my schedule next week back to the am workouts. But my whole goal is to exercise, whether it is am or pm, I'm just going to get it done! Menu - Bfast 2 eggwhite omlett with turkey sausage Lunch turkey breast/salad Dinner rotissarie chicken/green beans

Smartlipo?
Yes, Tami, it is the same! I would love to hear what you thought of the results. When are you having it done? Laura -I agree, I was wondering the same thing. I know the doc that does it in Mexico does put you out. The doc here where I live said she just deadens the area, she swears it is not painful. I think I would rather be knocked out, but I am still working on deciding if I am going to have it done. My plan is workout for 3 months and in April I will decide if I am going to have it done. I really want to lose another 20 lbs before I have it done. Also Laura, I would just google smartlipo if you are unable to pull the links up. You will get tons of info on it. I haven't been able to find anything negative about it yet.

I'm so mad at myself......
Your working on changing a lifetime of bad habits, so sometimes it takes baby steps. I'm still trying myself, so hang in there and don't give up! Congratulations on your loss so far! 24 pounds gone forever!

sitting here crying
Jacole - oh your post brought back a flood of memories. I cannot wait to see your after pic! Congratulations on getting your band next month. I hope the insurance doesn't give you any hard times and it goes smoothly. I remember looking at all the before/after pics before my surgery, and I would always ask myself, "will I ever be able to post pics on here", It was such a good feeling when I finally posted my 6 & 9 months comparrison shots. It was a NSV for me. Again, I am looking forward to seeing your progress!

Smartlipo?
Yes, it is the smartlipo only. The cost was $9800, plus the cost of compression garmets, which totalled about $265. This would include, chin, arm, back fat, upper/lower abs, love handles, hips, thights (complete thigh), knees, pretty much everything on your entire body. I would love to have it done, and might, I'm just going to spend the next 3 months exercising and eating right and we'll see where I am come April!

Swelling and Redness around my Port???
I think you should call your doctor. Is there anything coming out of the port area? I would call the doc, he might want to put you on an antiobotic. Best wishes.
