Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi all...it has been quite awhile since my last post...hope all is well with everyone...I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary January 31st...I have had only one fill to date and am still very restricted...I have lost 128 pounds...my question is am I a freak of nature or are there others like me out here? I am considering have a half of a cc taken out due not being able to eat...I mean certain things I can tolerate..alot I cannot...I am more restricted in the morning and afternoon..then in the evening is when I have my best luck of eating...not complaining mind you..just wondering if any others like me out there...
  8. I used Dr. Alanis for my lapband surgery and he is a really good Dr. always there to answer any questions you may have, and was a great surgeon no problems.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I Have a question? I have been banded since January 31, 2008. I have had one fill in May on the 7th and it was one cc into a 10 cc band. Is it normal to have such a good restricition on the first fill. I am down 70 lbs. and so tight it is amazing. Just want to know if i was freak of nature or if this is how it is suppose to work.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hope all of you have been doing well in your trek to achieve your goal weights. I have not posted for awhile and thought I would give an update on my progress. I was banded on January 31, 2008 and just had my first fill on May 7th. To date I have lost 55 lbs and several clothes sizes. It is a good thing that I kept all of my clothes from the 70s. I have a feeling I will be needing them. lol:thumbup:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi All, I was banded 1/31/08...weight loss to date has been 31 lbs. but now I find myself able to consume much more food. I know that a 1/4 to 1/2 of a cup is the norm but feel I could eat much more. I am adhering to what I am suppose to be eating. Just wondering if I possibly slipped my band. I go to see the Dr. on Monday...hopefully for a fill.....
  12. My experience will pill crushing is get used to it....I tried taking the smallest pill that I take and it got stuck...mix it with vanilla yogurt and it will not be a problem...I too take some pretty nasty tasting meds....

How is weight loss for people over 50?

Bombero here...I am 50 banded on 1/31/08 had lost 22 lbs my first dr. visit...and am down another 4 as of today for a total of 26. Years of beer drinking payed a big part of my weight gain...that is behind me now and am looking forward to a healthier life style and a lot more weight loss...
  14. A sleep study is no big deal. They will watch and monitor your sleep throughout the night...to observe if you stop breathing while sleeping. Then they will determine if you have sleep apnea and determine if you need a CPAP machine.
