  2. Yea CGshrink!!! Its so exciting. There was a time when I seriously considered gaining enough weight to get surgery. Its such a dumb system. Congrats on the surgery date.... I know that makes it really real!!!!! Question.... are you a psychologist (shrink). I am also a psychologist. congrats!!! Stacey
  3. Yea !!!!! No more morbidity !!!!!!! Its a grand step in your journey !!!!!
  4. Welcome Amanda. i dont know who your going through for your loan. I went through surgeryloans.com and it took about a week to hear back. I don't have the greatest credic (student loan stuff).... and I have no collatoral. It was an expensive loan but I got approved and so far its been worth every penny of the ridiculous interest and fees.
  5. DeeDee, I'm so sorry to hear all this has happened. I hope you have some support. I agree with the others .... soon it will be a bad dream and you will be rocking your sleeve. I see that your in Austin. At least your in a great town if nothing elese. I'm from there and I miss it like crazy. I'm sure its hard to enjoy from a hospital bed. I'm sending good thoughts your way. Keep posting and let us know how you are Stacey
  6. Well, I can only tell you my experience. It was around day 4 when liquids started going a little easier. I was taking little tiny sips until around day 8 or 9. Now, one month out I have no trouble drinking. I used to drink a lot of plain water before surgery... now I seem to need a little crystal light or something. Plain water doesn't do it for me anymore.
  7. I think I'll go back to regular eating (following the rules) If I stall again I might try adding a high calorie day about every 4th or 5th.... but truley... all those calories wernt nearly as enjoyable as they would have been pre surgery.
  8. congrats on your sleeve.... its rough right now but it gets better fast. You'll be living your new life sooner than you know. Stacey
  9. I never had acid before surgery. When my stomach started the gurgles after surgery I figured it was acid. I took my ppi but it didn't go away. Then.... about 2 weeks out I forgot my ppi for a while and I got real acid reflux. It's way different.... it burns your stomach and esophagus. You'll know when you have it. The gurgles are normal. Mine noises are subsiding as I get further out but they are definately still there. Sounds like your doing fine take care stacey
  10. So... as those of you who have been subjected to my whining know.... I have been in a stall for over 2 weeks now and I'm going nuts!!!!! :frusty: I have been following all the rules and exercising etc..:nopity: Yesterday I decided to shake things up and ate about 1500 calories... it was hard.... lots of it in the form of high calorie Meal Replacements etc.... I'm down 1 1/2 lbs today! :hail: My fingers are crossed that this is the beginning of a real loosing streak for me. I really thought my weight would be up after so many calories. Wish me luck!!!!! :001_tongue: Stacey
  11. yikes.... I've been making smoothies with strawberries and greek yougart since about day 14 :001_tongue:
  12. I am curious.... what legal recourse do patients that have been harmed have? I don't know much about international law and even less about the Mexican legal system. How does it all work?
  13. Yea Mary!!!!! That month pre surgery is so full of excitement and anticipation. Its good you have stuff to keep you busy. I'm a month out today and wouldn't change a thing..... you'll do great. Attitude is everything!!!! Stacey
  14. Its hard to get used to eating so little. I have to really work on staying busy. I've let food rule my life for so long that I sometimes dont know what to do now that I don't need much of it. You'll be a real looser for sure now
  15. Yea... the 14 lbs was great.... but the party is over!!!!!
  16. ARRRRGG day 18 without loosing an ounce (lost 13.2 lbs in 14 days after surgery). I have actually gained about 3/4 lb. I follow all th rules.... eat between500 and 800 cals... mostly protein. I'm really starting to get scared. When I do start loosing is it going to be 1lb a week..... I could have done that and kept my stomach!!!!!!!!! (not really, or I suppose I would have) GRRRRRRRR.... I know it will all work out but the people that I told I was getting the procedure done must be wondering if I'm "eating around" the sleeve. Its a little embarassing
  17. I'm gonna try it. I'll o to GNC today. This is day 15 of my post op stall and I'm going crazy
  18. Your gonna do great!!!!!! Post as soon as your up to it.
  19. Well.... I guess this thread goes either here or in the singles section. So...... the one thing I really envy religious people is their social networking. They form great communities and have lots of opportunities to meet people. I'm single and would like to meet someone but where? There is an athiest group in my community called freethinkers of colorado springs. It looks like they do cool stuff, they have sunday hikes and lectures and pot luck etc.... I'm a little worried though. I really don't want to preach the gosple of athiesm or listen to militant athiest doctrin. I may just be stereotyping.... maybe the group is full of people just like me, jsut looking for social outlets. I guess I won't know till I try. Have you guys had experiences with these types of groups? Where do athiests meet people (besides online)? Thanks Stacey
  20. Let us know what he says
  21. Thanks for the update. I know we are all hoping for the best. I'm glad shes home and all the best wishes for a complete repair on Monday.
  22. Its amazing the variation in size given a persons weight. I guess it has a lot to do with where we store it.
  23. That goes for me too!!!!! Let us know how your doing when you feel up to it.
