  1. Thanks for the list of suggestions, sounds yummy! As far as eating pureed foods; I have no problem with that, but the thought of eating only cottage cheese for two weeks is something I absolutely refuse to do. Yuk!
  2. I start mushies on Thursday and it’s all I ever think about! I’m totally obsessed about my first meal, and all the meals after that. Is this unhealthy? After two weeks of nothing but clear liquids and protein shakes I’m so hungry and it’s all I can think about. My obsession with food is what got me here in the first place and I’m trying to not obsess, but man… am I hungry!! P.S. Anyone have some good suggestions for a good first meal??? I'm drooling thinking about it.
  3. Is this the same as Alli? Because I've wondered if that's possible to use with the band too.
  4. I'm so sorry and I totally understand how hurt you must be. Just hold your head up high and take care of yourself and when you've lost all of the weight they'll realize that you did what worked best for YOU and maybe they'll understand that losing weight is not as easy for some of us as it is for others. As for your husband... I sure hope he realizes what a betrayal of your trust this was and that he is sorry for what he did. I'm sending good wishes and hugs your way. Keep your chin up honey, better days are ahead!!!
  5. You are my inspiration!!! Congratulations, and thanks for giving me hope!!
  6. How soon after surgery do you get your first fill? My surgery was 3/18 and I have two follow up appointments scheduled with my doc on March 29th and May 4th. I assume the 29th is just a post op appointment, but does that mean I won't get a fill until May 4th?
  7. I never thought about naming my band, but I guess if I did I'd call it "Hope"
  8. I have a pill crusher and I grind them into a fine powder then put them into a shot glass and add enough Water for a half a shot, just barely enough for a swallow. I stir it well and then take it just like a shot. It tastes terrible but you can handle it since it's just a tiny shot that mostly goes down your throat before you taste any of it. Might not work for everyone but works great for me.
  9. I just got my band 4 days ago and I thought that you were not able to tolerate beer with a lap band?
  10. Although I'm only three days post op and still on liquids, I'm planning ahead to my mushy food stage. I have a blender but do not have a food processor. Which works better? Is it worth buying a food processor for this or will the blender be fine? I'd love to hear how other people mush up their food.
  11. Thanks for the encouragement and the website which I hadn't heard of. I'll check that out.
  12. Hello All! I was banded two days ago and I'm so happy to finally be post op! I have two questions; 1. They told me that four ounces of my protein shake would be hard to get down at one time so to drink slowly. I have only been drinking four ounces at a time, but I feel like I could guzzle 8 at once easily. Should I be worried about this? 2. I keep hearing about unflavored protein powder. What is it and where can I buy it? I would also be interested in hearing about any other products that people have found to get them through the first few weeks after surgery. Thanks!!
