I was banded on Oct 3 and returned to work on Oct 9. I felt real good and was bored at home. I stand on my feet all day but I have been taking frequent breaks. Today is day 10 after surgery and I woke up with soreness around my port. I am going to work but my call it a short day. Is this soreness normal?

hang in there. you will do just fine. all of us have been scared and worried before our surgery but it isn't as bad as you may think. Remeber you are on your way to a healthier life so you can enjoy your little son. I will pray that God holds you in his arms as you go into surgery and each day afterwards. keep in touch! Marcy

hi everyone, I am on day 3 after surgery. I experienced left shoulder pain but just a mild case. I started walking 2 hours after surgery. I think it helped because I have only had mild gas pains. I encourage all of you to walk walk walk. Good luck to all.

hi everyone. I am official an oct bandster. My surgery went well. My doctor told me he repaired a large hernia and cleaned up scare tissue from having my gallbladder out 22 years ago. I was up and walking within the first hour after getting a room. I have not had any pain just soreness and a little gas in my left shoulder. I am excited to have my surgery over with. Hey everyone, I am now a banster. My surgery is over. Things went well. My doctor had to repair a very large hernia which I didnt know I had. This is day 2 and I am feeling good. Very sore but other than that I am doing fine. I have experienced left shoulder pain but it isnt that bad. I can't believe it but I am not hungry at all. amen, yes God is with each and every one of us. He will hold us in his arms and keep us safe if we let him. I know God will be with me tomorrow Oct 3 as I go to surgery, just as he is with me everyday and night. God is my savior. Amen

Hi all, I am on day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet. I have had some rough days but it is getting better. I found out I can have crystal light and sugar free jello so that helps. I am counting the days until surgery. Oct 3. Anyone else here in Mich with an Oct surgery date?

Mandi78 thanks for your reply. I discovered I can have crystal light and it helped satisfy my hunger. I know I will have a better day today!

Help, I am on day 2 of the preop liquid diet and I am starving! Anyone have any suggestions for me?

cookielover, hang in there. I too will be banded on oct 3. I am excited and scared. I also wonder how will I think of myself as a thin person. It is worth the risk believe me. I as scared of becoming a diabetic. I think I would rather be scared of being a new me than a diabetic. Hang in there and keep in touch. we will make it I promise. Marcy

Thanks for the input eveyone. I have decided to take a week vacation after surgery. Now all I need to figure out is what do I tell my clients. I am a hairdresser and my clients seem to want to know everything I do. I was thinking just tell them I need time off for myself. I don't like to lie but I don't know if I should tell that I am having lapband surgery. I am afraid I will get negative remarks if my friends and clients find out about the surgery. What do I do?

Anyone out there that got banded at Hurley Medical in Flint Mi. I have an Oct 8 surgery date. I am finding myself scared but excited to start a new life. How long should I plan to be off work? I am a hairdresser and I do have a high pain tolerance. I find working keeps my mind off my pain. I am open to suggestions. Marcy:clap2:

Does anyone have any suggestions about should or should I not tell my friends and family about getting banded. I work in a beauty salon and I am not sure if i should tell until long after i have surgery. I am afraid my friends and coworkers will try to talk me out of surgery. Marcy:)
