  1. The skin on my stomach has started to shrink, but I know it will still hang and a tummy tuck is probably inevitable. But once it's stretched it usually stays that way.
  2. YAY! Good job. I wanna end up in the 120's. I can't wait  Got a long way to go though.
  3. 1.) To be healthy. Being as heavy as I was at 19 isn't healthy, and even though I didn't have severe health problems, I'm sure I was getting there. But 45lbs lighter I'm healthier feeling both physically and mentally. 2.) Comfort. I don't feel very comfortable carrying around 100lbs+ of extra weight. It sucks, and even dumb things such as going to the mall really makes me uncomfortable. The weight is coming off and I see myself feeling much better personally. 3.) I LOVE rollercoasters, though I always aimed for the middle of them because that's where the "heavier" people can fit. I never had a problem fitting, but it will be nice to go on and be able to sit where I want and not have to worry about a thing. 4.) Looks wise. Of course, at 19 going on 20 I wanna be able to look good and feel good too. I'm already down to a size L/XL in most clothing and down 2 pants sizes, so I'm getting there.
  4. You need another fill. Don't let yourself get down and discouraged. If you aren't losing, up your exercise and start tracking your food. You DON'T need a fill to lose weight. I have not had one and I've lost almost 45lbs. Of course, it's different for everyone, but don't blame the band entirely. You have to push yourself as well and get your metabolism going.
  5. Congrats on your loss and good luck on your journey. You're doing awesome.
  6. You're doing awesome!!
  7. BCBS Fed. Employee Program covered 85% of mine. I've paid about $600 total.
  8. It sounds like you need a small unfill..If you can't keep food down then I'd go to see your doctor.
  9. You're only a few weeks out from surgery, so give your body a break. It does need to heal. As for your rapid weightloss after surgery, that's very common, and you've got to be ready for it to slow down, because it will/always does. Try to play with your calories, and add in some exercise, and the scale will move.
  10. Plateaus are common. Try mixing up your calories/carbs. Add in more exercise or do something different. It will start to come off again
  11. I'd just like to be healthy, and like Besty said, comfortable! At 19 I've really turned down a lot of things because of my weight and carrying around 120lbs of extra fat is really NOT enjoyable. Most of all it'll be good knowing I'm healthier and was able to lose the weight before any serious illnesses struck. But of course, I can't wait to try on size 6 pants and fit them!
  12. Congrats on your loss! You look great. I can't wait to hit 50lbs!
  13. Try to mix up your exercise. Do some high cardio, maybe add in some weights. Try to mix up your calories. I'll eat 600 one day, 800 the next, 650 the next, and son on. I was at a plateau for a little and the scale has been moving again. Make sure you're tracking your food, especially the protein amounts. You may also want to keep an eye on your carbs, but that doesn't work for everyone.
  14. I'm in for another 20lbs!
  15. Lost 22lbs!! Surpassed my first and second goal. Going for 50lbs before Christmas, though I should do a labor day one as well.
  16. I just fixed it. I think we should add the dates to each week as well.. Yay' date=' nays from anyone?[/color']
  17. I wished I'd measured myself! I should start as I'm already down a pants size.
  18. Congrats on your loss! I lost a lot the first few weeks.
  19. The psych exams are nothing..I was worried too but mine was pretty easy. I didn't like the guy but he was like grilling me with questions. Just pretty basic things.
  20. I believe the minimum age is 18, but I'm not sure. However, some surgeons will operate on 17 year olds. Fifteen may be a little too young. Maybe you can encourage them to do the Lapband diet and see how it works?
  21. Protein shakes definitely, but don't push yourself. Your body has enough protein to last you awhile. Try to get as much as you can but it does get a lot easier once you get to eat mushies/normal food.
  22. It's definitely very important to drink it! Don't force yourself if you truly feel full, but drink as much as you can. They say the most popular complication with the surgery is dehydration. Good luck!
  23. You work on maintaining. Once you get to your goal you just can't stop. It's important to continue to eat right, exercise, etc.
  24. Congrats and you will do just fine. Being nervous is very calm. Just remember in the end you'll be on your way to a healthier life.
  25. This is plenty normal. I felt it too and I let it get to me. I cried a few times before surgery, but in the end I knew it was the best way to go. You may be healthy now, but let's face it, being obese has proven to shorten life and cause a variety of health issues. I'd rather risk a pretty safe surgery then to continue to be overweight. It's very, very very very uncommon to die from this surgery. Keep your head up and think positive. When your surgery day comes, you will be fine, and surgery will go smoothly. Thinking the negative will only make things worse.
