  1. kel, thanks for the post (i think ) now that im getting "massive amounts" of lipo, im petrified!! (i hate pain!!!) im getting my front lipo'd (tummy & i guess Mons area) and my 'trunk' (side boobies on down) lipo'd ... my question is, how do you lay on your freshly lipo'd back? doesnt that really hurt???
  2. they should be OK, but try to look for lower sugar.
  3. i second the thumbs up for Dr. Marsden. I was banded about 16 months ago and have lost just under 150 pounds. i've heard excellent things about Dr. Fox, Dr. Smith, Dr. Jay...., Dr. Powell.. good luck on your journey
  4. welcome Libby. just take it one step at a time and sit and read the threads. TONS of information here!
  5. it's ALWAYS a good idea to check out potential doctors. when i was researching for my plastics, i found the Tx Medical Board website. Texas Medical Board you can put any doctor in there from Tx and find out what's going on with them
  6. Graham, what a great recount of your thoughts and feelings. congrats on the loss so far and welcome to bandland!
  7. Hi Leena, i was considering just a panniculectomy, but i wanted the top part of my tummy taken care of as well. after the tuck, i will hopefully be about 40 pounds from goal and may need a small revision that i can get when i get my thighs and or chest and arms done. my tummy is just SO in the way of my activities (try running with the constant flapping ) and basically daily life, i'm ready for it to be gone.
  8. ok, I did it. I asked DH to take the scale away until the Wednesday before my plastics... that is after I stepped on this morning... but hey, last time in awhile and I was down 2. love low carb!!
  9. Tuesday b - atkins shake s - iss Protein wafers l - 1 oz chicken w/ 1 tbsp salsa s - atkins shake d - 1.5 oz ground sirloin with 1.5 slices bacon and 1 piece swiss cheese. 1/2 cup mushrooms sauteed in butter. 1 tsp chipotle mustard s - 1 slice swiss cheese cals - 1102 fat - 80.8 (66%) carb - 18.1 (7%) pro - 73.9 (27%)
  10. that is fabulous she!
  11. i dont think it's hopeless.. its something she could discuss with her doctor. personally, Medifast may get the weight off, but will she be able to keep it off? maybe go for a more healthy lifestyle ... not a diet per se.
  12. i voted Unsure cause there isnt a "no" option. i have considerably less gas post-band. hiccuping on the other hand. that is my signal to not take one more bite... runny nose is my 'soft stop' a hiccup is a STOP NOW.
  13. **sigh** that's a tough one. to be honest, i'd probably still be fat. i dunno what i'd do, focus on moving more. eating right?? but pre-band, eating right consisted of anything and everything i could get my hands on. good luck with your surgery. best of luck to you and your mom.
  14. are you having a hernia repaired as well? i dunno about the UK, but in the states, it is not legal for them to ask WHY you had surgery... maybe you have some kind of growth you need removed (ahem, tummy )
  15. Lynne, that is so discouraging, but dont give up! do all you can do to get this. it's worth fighting for!
  16. i know Karey... i have a feeling we're going to hear crickets chirping it'll be so quiet in here ... hopefully i'll feel OK enough to at least log on w/ my iPhone. i cant imagine having a laptop post surgery!!
  17. thanks for the Atkins info.. i normally dont stick with it long enough to hit the stall  going to try for the next 15 days to do it unless my PS says NO... as for the amputation ... i'm working on that :tt2:
  18. Wheetsin, how come you always make perfect sense?? ok ... i will ask DH to keep the scale in his car. i will not be weighed until my tuck on the 29th. oh boy, this is big... i've restarted Atkins (yet again) and i am obsessed with the scale while on Atkins, cause i usually drop about 5-7 pounds a week and it keeps me motivated. this is going to be really difficult.
  19. i've given running outside a try twice ... hated it ... felt like everyone at the park was commenting "look at the fat chick try to run" ... so i stopped and do it on a treadmill now...
  20. oh good gracious NO WAY ... i mean he knows what i weigh now (in a round about way), but no way ... nuh uh...
  21. but .. but... but.... i guess im afraid i will lose control when i dont weigh myself. happened last week. i refused to step on the scale cause i was eating all the wrong things ... i gained ... oh boy...
  22. unfortunately, the beast affects my mood like no other. i try to stay off of it, but its a compulsion of sorts. if it goes down, i'm elated... up and im pissed for the day. i really need to work on this...
  23. hi Esmeralda, welcome. we just had our first 2 bandsters go thru plastics yesterday, we are waiting to hear from them. Nina's DH posted that she is fine, but the lipo hurts ... yay... cant wait. Neal hasnt posted yet.
