  1. hi Jess, this is a crazy/exciting time. read all you can around here. LOTS of good information! i, too, had UHC and the approval process was not difficult.
  2. hi dolphin, welcome. can you give us an example of what you are eating / exercising? that may help us help you... :scared2:
  3. and dont forget ... liquids in, more than likely going to have liquids out.
  4. i started with 5 and now am using 8s
  5. i wouldnt necessarily go by the 1/2 cup to 1 cup... dont force it. if after 5 bites, you are no longer hungry, stop eating. give it about 2-3 mins. still not hungry? you are done. i usually take a bite, chew until i can no longer chew, swallow and then a minute or so later, take another bite. take your time. that 'full' feeling for me is misery.
  6. milk, maybe a bit of juice? there are some sugar free syrups out there (made by DaVinci) that are pretty good. mix it with ice in a blender to make it a shake. i have a difficult time with some Protein shakes too. i know there are some retailers that sell sample packs, maybe try that?
  7. Monday - b - omelet with cheese, ham & mushrooms l - 1 hotdog s - atkins shake d - 6 tequila lime wings 1056 cals 79.8g fat (68%) 14g carb (5%) 71.9 pro (27%) anyone else out there?
  8. hi Smitty, welcome to LBT. congrats on your success!
  9. Hi, welcome to LBT. if you have a physical job, i can definitely see taking a few weeks off. congrats on your banding date! like harley said, sit back and read all you can!
  10. hi imb316 what are you eating? keeping the Protein up (keeps you fuller longer). the movement / sounds may just be digestion. if you are really feeling hunger pains, try upping your protein even more, but take small bites and chew. good luck
  11. it really depends on how your body reacts to the surgery. i know some people who lost 20 pounds the first month and didnt gain it back, some lost 20 but gained 15 back when they went on mushies, some lost 3 pounds then started losing more after they received proper restriction. it really varies. i had a lot to lose (started at 402), so i dropped the first 60 pounds rather quickly... HOWEVER, i was at the gym 6-10 times a week and really watched what i ate. dealt with the 'bandster hell' by drinking all the Water i could. bottom line - dont compare yourself with others. there will always be someone who does better than you are and there will always be someone who is not doing as well as you are. good luck on your upcoming surgery!
  12. yum, that sounds really good. thanks!
  13. i was on liquids when i returned to work. just space them out the same as you would during the day. have 'breakfast' at 9-10pm, 'lunch' about 2amish, 'snack' about 5am then 'dinner' when you get home. you can do this!
  14. welcome mommi-hammi. wow, LUCKY you... no time to stress over anything. i've added you to the first post. congrats!
  15. glad to hear that she is doing well. sorry to hear about the lipo pain.
  16. hi Nikki, i used to graze all day long. the band has helped me in the volume i graze, but it does take some discipline some days. i dont eat 3 meals a day, i eat 5-6. but they are small meals ie - today b - atkins shake snack (if needed) atkins shake l - 2 oz chicken w/ salsa s - nuts maybe d - 2-3 oz sausage i think the key is not to get HUNGRY... if i allow myself to get really hungry i eat too quickly and that results in a PB. good luck
  17. wow puddin, sorry to hear about the cervical cancer. i hope you are recovering well from your surgery. C
