  1. I went on a 5-day all inclusive vacation last week and was able to tolerate quite a bit of alchol. I talked to my doc about it Monday and he said it's usually no problem to drink, but he doesn't recommend it because of the calories. I actually gained 3 lbs during the vacation, but quickly lost it once I got back to a regular schedule
  2. I had my first fill Monday. My doc only put 1cc in my 10cc band. He didn't put anything in during the surgery. I'm a little worried about not feeling the restriction either. He said everybody is different and some people may need 5 fills, whereas some will only need 2. He will only fill once per month, so I'm hoping to feel restriction soon.
  3. I'm worried about the same thing. I'm currently a D-cup and know I'll go down to at least a C (even when I was smaller, I had large breasts). I'm afraid of how saggy they'll be. But, I'd rather have saggy boobs than a fat body:smile2:
  4. I had my first fill Monday and the doc only put in 1cc in a 10cc band. I was told to go on liquids for 48 hrs, then gradually start with mushies again. I'm surprised you're already eating food. Good luck! My doc will only add 1cc at a time every 4 weeks. I hope I don't struggle with hunger for much longer.
  5. I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work (office job) the following Monday. No problems and felt great.
  6. Just hang in there. It'll take about a week before you feel like you can sleep on your stomach again. I too sleep on my stomach. I just had my first fill on Monday and had trouble sleeping on my stomach that night. I got really nausaus and had to sleep on my back. All was good by the 2nd night. Good luck and hang in there! It is definately worth a little loss of sleep
  7. I would wait until after the vacation to get a fill. My daughter had surgery 2 years ago and had a fill a couple weeks prior to going on vacation and was miserable because she couldn't eat. She also couldn't drink until 3-4 hours after she woke up. I felt bad for her because we were at an all-inclusive 5 star resort and she couldn't enjoy the food. I am 5 wks post-pp and just had my first fill yesterday and did feel a little ill trying to sleep last night. My doc has me on liquids for 3 days after a fill.
  8. I am 5 weeks post-op and had my first fill yesterday. I have lost 17 lbs since the surgery, but only 6 lbs on the pre-diet (which sucked! 2 weeks on a liquid diet and only lost 6 lbs... what's up with that?)
  9. I am 5 weeks post-op and have lost 22 lbs so far. I just had my first fill yesterday so I'm hoping to start losing a little quicker.
  10. I'm right there with you! I get on the scales every morning and the last 2 weeks I've been really disappointed. This morning however, it dropped 1.5 lbs :smile2: I am leaving on vacation for 5 days and won't have access to a scale. So, I hope when I return I see a loss.
  11. I was banded 1/28 and have had the same results as you. I've only lost 20 lbs so far and feel like I'm at a standstill. I do believe it is the change in the diet and I am eating more dense foods. I hope to see the weight coming off again soon.
  12. I was banded on 1/28/10 and at my followup visit with the nutruitionist I had lost a total of 20 lbs (pre-op and post-op). That was 2 weeks ago, and I have not lost a pound since then. I started eating soft foods, but don't think I've over-eaten. It is very frustrating because I would like to see the 2 lbs / week. I know my calorie input is 1000 or less per day. Has anyone else experienced this?
  13. I will be 1 month post-op when I go on vacation to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. Needless to say, I worry about if alchol will have an affect on me. I plan to try to stick to vodka with juice. I rarely drink, so I don't want to put out the wrong impression here, but I do want to be able to have a couple of drinks and not feel guilty. Anyone else try alchol only a month post-op?
  14. I was also banded on 1/28. My stitches were on the inside and he applied steri-strips over them. The strips are still there and the doc recommended to let them fall off by themself and not to pull them off. I've been pretty lucky and didn't have much bleeding. I'm hoping to get rid of the strips sometime this week... they're looking pretty rough.
  15. I chose to tell my family, friends and co-workers. For the most part they are supportative. What's most important for me is the support I'm getting from my husband! For the rest of them, I'm sure they're watching me close and they do have comments every now and then. Most of them have been positive.
  16. I'm right there with you on the iching.... I am at the point I can no longer tolerate the shakes. I'm trying to get at least 2 per day down, but that's getting difficult.
  17. I tend to weigh myself every morning. Lately, it's been refreshing to see that number getting lower and lower :sifone:
  18. I am only 1 week post-op and can't wait tilll I have problems not fitting into my clothes! Sounds like a good problem to have. Good luck with your continued success!
  19. I am 1-week post-op today and feeling pretty good. I still have a little shoulder pain / stomach grumbling but it's not too bad. I think I am not eating as much as I should because it takes me all day to drink 2 protein shakes. Then I don't feel like I'm getting enough water in. Anyone else feel like that?
  20. I have always referred to it as "FUPA" - fat upper pussy area
  21. MellaBella, Have you lost the 89 lbs since you were banded? That's wonderful! I hope my success is as good as yours has been.
  22. Good luck with the followup appt. Let us know how much you lost. I don't see the surgeon for 4 weeks post-op. I am hoping for a big number as well. My problem is, I want to see results immediately. I know it's a slow process, but I'm still anxious.:smile2:
  23. My doctor's orders are 1 week of liquids, then puree type foods. Mashed potatoes are sounding pretty good right now
  24. I am 5 days post-op and I feel like my stomach is growling sometimes too. Sometimes I really get hungry but after sipping on a protien shake for a couple hours it goes away. I know I'm only getting 500 calories a day or so, but I'm pretty sure mine are hunger pains
  25. I am 5 days post-op and feeling pretty hungry. Anyone else hungry? I started adding the protein shakes, yesterday I was able to get 2 of them down along with a V8 and some beef broth. Today I had a shake at 5:30am and it's only 8:15 and I'm really hungry again. I think my appetite has come back with a vengence! I think I've been pretty lucky keeping the food down without any pain, but I think I'm being cautious and not eating much.
