  1. I havent had any tests done either, maybe its the insurance that requires this. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas, what about everyone else that have had tests?
  2. There are only two girls that work at my drs office. It takes awhile for the girl I deal with to do what she says, but I usually just send a reminder to her through email and she gets it done that day, which is fine with me. If your not happy with the service , call the other office and see what they can do for you!
  3. Oh ok, your farther south then me, I'm in chicago. I am seeing Dr. Watkins, hes in oak brook and I think he has an office in Ohio. I really like him and this process has been so easy for me. With my work schd and school schd his office has worked with me so much! I hope surgery goes just as smooth! I'll send you my email so we can talk after surgery!
  4. No I don't have to go to any support groups before surgery.. I really didn't have to do anything before I have surgery. Everyone at work knows im dieting so I am hoping they just think I am doing a great job once I get banded! LOL. How were the support groups, were they something that you would recommend?
  5. Has anyone gone into this just not caring who knows and who they tell? The only people that knew I was thinking about it was my close family and now my mom is the only one that knows Im going to have it done and that the date is set (may 17th!!!). Its sad because she doesn't seem excited for me anymore, like its now real to her and she never wants to talk about it or get excited. I haven't told any of my friends that I am having it done, nor did I tell anyone at work why I need a week off, they just think Im going on vacation. I am feeling more alone then ever at this point and its not a good feeling at all :-(
  6. Well that makes me feel a whole lot better! Everything I read its people saying they had all these tests before hand. I noticed your in IL, me too, who is your DR?
  7. May 17th for me! I go to my pre-op appt on the 26th and find out what kind of pre-op diet ill be on.. So nervous and excited!
  8. Hey guys! I started this in January and had to do a 3-month diet, I finished that and they submitted to my insurance and I was just approved the other day. I am set for May 17th! I have my pre-op appt on April 26th and I will find out if I have to do a pre-op diet. I haven't had to take any other tests or anything... it just seems too easy for me.. Im getting nervous that the date is set and I'll be starting my new life in a month! Nervous and exciting at the same time!!
  9. I haven't been banded yet (5-17!!) , but on my pre-diet I was only eating about 1200 cals a day and working out 5x a week and with a trainer also, but wasn't losing anything! It was very frustrating. He made me eat every 3 hours, stop 3 hours before bed and thats what I did and the pounds came off a lot quicker! Try 2-3 weeks of what your trainer says and see if anything changes! Good Luck!
  10. I just found out I got approved by my insurance today and now have my date for May 17th! I go in for my pre-op appt April 26th so I will find out about my pre-op diet then but I was wondering if anyone was still able to work out while on it, I know they cut calories by a lot! I have a personal trainer and I work out really hard, trying to lose the most weight I can before I get banded, I hope this doesn't stop me!
  11. Great news that you were banded! My surgery date is set for May 17th. Try this site for Protein, they have tons of flavors and you can search by what you are looking for. Bodybuilding.com - Protein Finder! A Search Tool That Finds The Perfect Protein For You! Good Luck!
  12. Tomorrow I start my 3-month diet required by my insurance... I just went shopping and bought a bunch of stuff that would fit in with my high protein/low carb diet! I just threw out everything bad that was in my fridge/freezer and filled it with healthy items! I am away at college and live in the dorms.. its going to be hard but its time for a change! Question for those that had to do a pre diet required for insurance, was it required to have proof of exercise, like proof that you went to a gym and how often? My dr didnt mention anything of this nature, are they just looking for a watched diet?
  13. Hello everyone! I moved away and started college this past fall, and I dorm, I gained 40 pounds! I had my surgeon consult on 1/18/2010 and today I went to the DR to start my required insurance 3-month diet. Im afraid on not losing any weight with this diet while im still in school, has anyone else have success with a pre diet while in college, maybe some tips from anyone! Thanks!
