  1. Please do not say that you only have lost 35 pounds because if you did not have the band, perhaps that would be +35 pounds. You will find the right restriction as you go along. Are there any foods that stick? Sugar free jello is great, and a shake is a wonderful filler. Also, I cook fresh vegetables and then puree them for the times when I feel I must have something. A little parmesan cheese on it and way to go. I wish you much luck. Do not be so hard on yourself. Only I am allowed to do that. Be well. Fran
  2. Where did you buy this? I am so interested and tired of the other shakes and their putred tastes. Thanks. Fran
  3. I cook fresh produce-broccoli, cauliflower, squash, etc. with some college inn broth and then blend it. For added taste you can add garlic or onion. Sprinkled with parmesan cheese, it is wonderful, and oh so healthy. Reheats easily in microwave and is very filling. no two soups come out the same. I now have a pot of spinach, garlic and squash simmering. Enjoy. Fran
  4. Did anyone ever use the protein powder from GNC from the Biggest Looser? Fran
  5. Getting stuck is the pits. You never know where, when or what will make it happen. I can down an entire bag of microwave popcorn, but no chicken. Chicken breast is too dry also. Try the dark meat with some sauce. Fran
  6. I never felt worthy of putting myself first because I thought I looked horrible and everyone would say yeah, sure, there goes that fat woman. I put everyone first at my expense. It is a hard habit to break. After loosing 118 pounds, I started to feel "normal" but now I am putting the weight back on and feel like the same failure as before. Again, this is an ingrained feeling of self wothlessness which is hard to change. Try to be strong.Be well. Fran
  7. I went to him, in New Jersey and hated his office staff so I did not use him and had it done elsewhere. Fran

are these shakes in powder form or already made?thanks Fran
  10. Hi, [My band slipped at goal weight also, and they put in a new one. I was throwing up and had severe pain. The pain was really terrible. Perhaps yours is not so bad and will go back into place. I would suggest another band as we have tried this on our own before. If they have to operate, the replacement is not bad. The surgical assistant asked in the operating room asked if I was the right patient as I did not look like I needed a band. What a nice compliment!! I have since gained back weight and am stuggling. I wish you continued good luck. Be well. Fran

  12. You look wonderful. I agree that the band is only a tool as head hunger drives me crazy. Be well. Fran

I too had to have my band replaced. I was vomiting and had pains worse than gall bladder (which was removed too) The surgeon blamed the prolapse on the vomiting, but I blame the vomiting on the prolapse. At this point I had lost 118 pounds and told everyone after my second surgery it only took a week to loose that amount. Ha Ha. Second surgery was fine, and came home the next morning. The only thing is is that it is hard getting mentally back into the liquid/mushy/small portion mental mode. You will do fine, and I wish you well. Fran
  14. I do not have an answer to your question but this is funny. I was banded in August, 2006 and my band slipped this past May and I needed revision. How are you doing now? I am struggling after loosing over 100 pounds and also have body image issues. I had plastic surgery on my tummy and still feel fat. Be well. Fran
  15. Atkins is the yellow light, the lap band is the red one. You cannot proceed past it or there will be consequences. I wish you well. Fran
