So I have read the books more than once, and I will say if you haven't read the book you might like the movies, but if you have read the books then the movie is definitely not going to live up to the books, the books are so much better. They didn't follow the timeline of the book and they changed things around from the book to the movie, and I was very disappointed in the movie, also the actor that played christian gray, he just didn't live up to the hotness description from the book. That being said I probably will still go see the movie of the rest of the books, but I would totally prefer to read the books again than watch the movie. You said that some of the sex scenes in the trailer are arousing, then you should really read the book, it is 100 times more arousing!!!

Am I the only one who thought the movie was horrid? Someone described it as "two awkward people having sex" - I concur totally.
When I'm on my "bariatric work break" (i.e. post op) I'm going to read the books because I heard they were much better.

Green*eyed*girl, you are not crazy!!!! I agree with you on a lot of this!!! The food, I miss oh so much, not so much the big bowls of Pasta, but spanish rice, and just plain eating without having to remember to eat carefully or your going to have issues? I don't wear low rise jeans cause I don't like how they feel, but I have to wear a belt with all my jeans even my skinny jeans, or else I am pulling at my jeans all day cause they feel like they are falling down all the time? Also I am a side sleeper too so I know what you mean about not being able to sleep good on your side so now I have basically converted to a back sleeper? The other thing I have found is that yes I have really bad knees(prior to having all this weight come off) but I now have really bad lower back problems where when I stand for too long my back is killing me for 2 days? I don't know what it is??? I have since surgery lost 96lbs and I am very happy about it, but then again, I too am getting way too much attention from the opposite sex, and although it feels good, it also doesn't feel good. I have a fantastic fiance that I love to death and back and I wouldn't EVER do anything to jeopardize what we have but it just feels weird, plus my son was playing football up till recently and there was a guy there that actually my fiance works with, and he was always hanging out with me and texting me and acting like he liked me and I was always trying to be polite but not give off the wrong impression!!! So I am sort of glad football is over now, even though I do miss it. This is all new to me as I haven't ever in my adult life been this thin, I haven't even weight this little since before I was in high school? So having all this going on is a little hard to get a grip of, but I do love the attention I get from my fiance and I feel so much more comfortable in my skin around him, and thats all that matters to me. It is hard to get past all this but you will do great!!! I think we all figure this out in our own way. Good luck!!!

NO!!! I know how it feels to be overweight and in a relationship that some of this stuff happens, it didn't go to this extreme, but it did get to the point of him cheating on me, which is also my kids father who had done this to me, to whom I also have 2 children with. I left him finally after my son was born. My son was only 5 months old when I just had enough, and my son is now going to be 10 in a little over a month. It was the best decision I had ever made for myself to leave him when I did. I didn't need the abuse I got from him about my weight and emotional abuse I got from him with him cheating on me, so I finally just had enough. I kicked him out and that was that, I think alot of heavier women have that same feeling that if they have children with a man that they need to stay with them, but it's not true. I realize that now. I was scared beyond belief when I left, I didn't want to be my mom a single mom, alone for the rest of my life? I met a man almost 3 years ago, and we are getting married now in 5 months. He met me when I was at my biggest and loved me then and loves me now too. This man that you were with does not deserve you, you deserve way better!!! He does the things he does to you because there is something in himself he isn't happy with. Just stay positive and you can do this.

Do you live in a area where there is no sun most days and it's cold from the weather and snow and stuff? I get like that in the winter all the time? Winter Blues? This holiday time doesn't help either. I have been feeling the same way, you have to find new ways of picking yourself up and moving forward. It's not easy but you just have to keep moving. Good Luck!!!

@@green*eyed*girl I totally agree, I feel like when I was 100 lbs heavier I was much stronger and I could do a whole lot more lifting than I can now. but that also comes with weight training, you can get that back you have to work out with the free weights and use those muscles. It's going to be hard at first, but you will get it, and soon you will be just as strong as before if not stronger cause the weight you lost will help you move better and lift more. I am not saying lift to become some super steroid body builder but you need those muscles to keep your body strong, so use what you got and strengthen as much as you can!!! Good luck!!!

@@Gingerisgreat, the drinking and getting satisfied thing will work itself out, but as for the stares and the omg you look so good kind of things that are happening, I know exactly how you feel. I have the same thing happen to me but I am now down 100 lbs and I have seen people for the first time recently and their mouth falls to the floor? lol, it's does make me feel weird, but I have gotten over all that, and as for the questions when people ask, just tell them the truth? I do it all the time, I was very nervous about telling people the truth at first too, but now if someone says how did you do it how did you loose all this weight, I just tell them cause I am proud of what I have accomplished and proud of myself for going through all that I had to go through to do this for me, and I don't care what they all think if they think I took the easy route to loose the weight or what, I do not care anymore cause this was definitely not the easy route, this is just as hard if not harder than doing it naturally. Be proud of you and what your accomplishing in your life the rest will work its way through!!!

He is a hot mess!!! The only attention I like is when I haven't seen someone in a really long time and they see me for the first time now and they can't believe the weight I have lost. Like my dad hasn't seen me since like omg, around my surgery time? So no I weight 96lbs lighter and he won't even recognize me? Also alot of my family that is coming to my wedding in june, they are all going to be floored when they see me in person??? lol I like that, but the man attention only my man thanks!!! I have found that sleeping on my back hasn't been so bad, so I am ok with it for now. I hope that it stays that way!!!

@Gingerisgreat...AMEN!!! I have a wonderful husband that sounds just like yours and he feels the same way as what you just described. He loved me before and loves me just the same now. He is my biggest supporter!!! I agree with you I am the exact same person I was a year ago before I had the surgery. I got my surgery done in March of 2014 and so I haven't quite hit my year yet, but it's coming up quick and I know that, but I don't even care I am happy with how I am loosing and how I am doing in my progress, and I did the same as you not tell a whole lot of people before because I didn't want the stories but I also didn't want people trying to talk me out of it too. Like I knew this is what I needed to do to make me a healthier person. I was also pre-diabetic and I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my 2nd child and even had to take insulin, and diabetes does run in my family so that was always a big scare of mine, and I didn't want to sink that low, and so I did this for me. I did this for my health not to change how I looked cause to me I still look the same, Just a little smaller, but the biggest difference is my health now is so much better, I had many more health issues other than the diabetes and that was what led me to finally just take the jump to doing this and I do not regret one minute of getting this surgery. I have had plenty of obstacles and hurdles to get over post surgery even pre surgery that it's made me appreciate all the weight I have lost to get my health back. So I wouldn't change it for the world. Thanks for the talk and It really helps talking to people that know exactly or very similar to what I am going through. Well have a great holiday and new year!!!

I know how you feel, I am lucky that I have a very supportive family and in-law family but it's not the same as knowing someone in my area that had this surgery too, to just go for a coffee or dinner and be able to talk about what is going on with me. I really haven't lost many friends from the surgery, cause I don't have many friends to begin with, I just don't have time for dramatic people that I want to deal with crap that can't be controlled? I work all day and go home to take care of my kids and family. I don't have a lot of time for anyone else's issues, and I like it that way? I have always been a friend to all but a loner to myself type of person. It works for me.

I am very fortunate that my best friend of 10 years had the sleeve in June. She had her surgery and I stayed with her all day in the hospital, then the following morning I saw her surgeon for my very first pre-op eval (Obviously I had attended informational meetings and met with nutritionist prior to this, but had to wait to see the surgeon). I researched the sleeve myself however my reasons for needing surgery were not the exact same as hers, obviously we both had extra weight to lose, however she had hypertension and sleep apnea. I had neither of those, but I have PCOS, chronic pelvic pain that was not resolved with two prior surgical interventions, multiple female complications including hot flashes, night sweats, and severe anxiety all due to hormonal imbalances. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and Insulin Resistant back in March, and I was told that it was inevitable that one day I would be on Insulin as a result. During my pre-surgical testing, I was diagnosed with esophagitis as well as stomach ulcers and started on two more meds for those diagnoses. In the year prior to my surgery I was screened for cancer in three regions of my body, and I am only 33. After watching my best friend of all those years undergo this surgery and walk out of the hospital off of all of her medications, I just KNEW that I needed to make the decision! I chose RNY because I needed the absorption change in order to give my body the best chance possible of overcoming my hormonal difficulties as well as IR, and sleeve is more risky if you have an ulcer. BUT I HAVE NO REGRETS!!!!!! I am still on pureed foods until tomorrow, however this last week while enjoying a VERY nice and overdue shopping day out with this BFF (whom I might add has almost reached a 100 pound loss in the last 6 months and LOOKS INCREDIBLE), we were both able to shop together in areas of the store other than plus size! She is about two sizes smaller than I currently but we joke about being able to share wardrobe again soon since now neither of us have much that fits! While on our shopping day, we stopped at a Panera bread for lunch and we were able to share a cup of their clam chowder for our lunch. We both ate and were satisfied off a SHARED $4 lunch!!! NOTE: You don't feel so bad buying yourself a new top for $20 when your lunch only cost you $2.....and the bonus is that you can wear your new item time and time again!!!! Now, why did I share this info about my journey through this with my BFF? Because I want to encourage you to find someone new that shares this experience with you!!!!! I am lucky to have the most amazing husband and this very dear friends by my side, and I SERIOUSLY commend ALL of you that have done this alone and without the kind of support that I have had. I am VERY VERY lucky, and I know it. I thank God for them both as I am certain I would have had a MUCH harder time with this process had I been doing it alone. Yes it has been hard to not be able to eat what my husband does, and I was on pureed diet on our one year wedding anniversary even so we were unable to Celebrate in the fashion that we would have in the past. But knowing that I am going to feel better and be able to live every day to the fullest from here on out is well worth those small sacrifices. Surround yourselves with people that understand that!!!! For our one year wedding anniversary, I made us homemade shrimp bisque Soup and I pureed my little portion. I lit candles on our table and we ate by candlelight at home. For dessert I made us little ramekins of a sugar free vanilla custard topped with sugar free cool whip. It was still romantic, and my husband never complained. He is now taking his health seriously and has set a goal to start running again as he used to run marathons. Now I am going to join him in his running. I wish I lived close enough to you girls to start a WLS club with encouragement and friendship, but that is what this forum is for! Good Luck to you all, visit a local support group and find new friends that encourage you, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!!

I hate bell bottoms, I am not big fan of anything that is real baggy though. I think that the stuff that I am having issues with is more the tops than the bottoms, I have always been more of a tom boy, and I always just like t-shirts and tank tops and stuff like that, but now I am finding that I want cute stuff, and stuff that looks a little more professional? I do still like my t-shirts and stuff like that, but not as much as I used to? I need to start shopping more for the tops than the bottoms? I don't know if I want my daughter to go shopping with me to help me pick out cloths as she is only 13 and she is VERY girly, and she and I don't have the same taste in cloths? @@FairySleeve it is hard with the shopping specially when your dropping so rapidly, Plus your still in the first 6 months of you surgery, and that is "Typically" when you loose the most weight, so my suggestions is when your in need of cloths, go to a second hand store for now just to have something here and there that will fit, cause you don't want to be buying expensive cloths that will fit for a month and then have to give them away? I haven't really spent any money on cloths that fit me at a normal store yet, I keep buying everything at a second hand store unless I find something on a clearance rack that is cheap, cause I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on stuff that won't fit me in a few months I am now 6-1/2 months out and only have 33 lbs to go to get to my final goal, and I don't want to buy brand new cloths till then. I know about the panties problem, I have the same problem, and I have thrown away a lot of nice panties cause they were sagging off my rearend, so and buying those at a second hand store is just not an option so I would do the same thing as you have with that, but all your other cloths I would suggest just buying just what you need to get by and buying them cheap so you don't waste your money on them. Good luck

Do you like Soup? What kind of Veggies will you eat? You really gotta try to change your taste for food, cause your right you won't be able to sustain on crackers alone. How long has it been since you have had surgery? I am sorry to say but no one said this was going to be easy, but if you take one day a week and cook a few meals you know your going to eat and that you like, and then make enough that you can alternate days, and freeze them so when you get home all you have to do is take it out put it in the microwave and warm it up for yourself that is the way I am going to do it, and it will make it easier for you. I get out of work now and I am on my pre-op diet and I go home and cook for 2 kids and my husband, and I am not making 2 meals every night after I have my surgery. So I figure if I take saturday or sunday and make different things and freeze them, and all I have to do is choose what I want to eat for that day, I will be good to go??? Try it??? Maybe you will like that better? Good Luck!!!
