  1. Having a good week, feeling like this will be the week I loose more than I have in the past few weeks. I would be elated to hit my current goal to get down to 200!!! That would be amazing but that is 5 lbs from where I was monday so I don't know if I will get there just yet?

    1. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

I'll be sending losing thoughts your way! :) And if you don't hit it this week, don't fret, it'll be here soon! Just keep moving!

Oh I am dreaming of being under 200 also, I know it would be a big loss this week if I hit it but I am thinking positive and trying to keep moving. You can do it girl! and if you don't this week there is always next week :-)

Thanks girls!!! I am staying positive!!!

  2. Feeling very happy and blessed I decided to do this surgery, cause last year at this time, I wasn't feeling so happy and comfortable in my body!!!

      :) :) :) feel the same way

  3. Well I lost 1 of the 2 lbs I gained last week, so I am happy about that, but we had my sons last football game saturday and so my life is now going to become less hectic running around so I can really start to concentrate on me and what I have to do to get the rest of this weight off.

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Yes they do but I wouldn't give it up for the world, my son and watching him play football he is so dedicated and works so hard at what he does on that field, I love it!!! I just need to get off my rear end and stop slacking when it comes to me!!! That's my biggest problem is I just slack off cause I am tired by the time I get out of work, but need to really just get up and go.

    2. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

I certainly understand... both of my boys were always active in sports and I KNOW how it takes so much of your time and energy. My "baby" is 15 now and my older son is 20 (daughter is 23 but she lives across the country), and I definitely have SO much more free time now that they are pretty self-sufficient. When they were younger and we had endless sports events going on, I would try to walk laps around the fields during practices (if they were too young just to drop off). I even did step ups on the bleachers sometimes mostly just to get the blood pumping when my butt was falling asleep on those bleachers!

It's a hard balance to find and I hope you find yours soon. Maybe since your son is active, you could get him to take fast walks with you or do some kind of physical challenges with him. My youngest plays lacrosse and even standing out in the yard with him tossing the ball is at least MOVING some! And I'd highly recommend trying to get up early and exercise at the beginning of the day. I was always SO much more successful doing that than if I waited until later in the day because like you said, after work you can really lack the energy. I KNOW nobody wants to get up early to exercise but it really does give you a great start to the day and usually nobody's needing mom's attention at 5 in the morning! ;)

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

True, I wish there were bleachers at the field where my son practiced? I would have done step ups!!! I walked the track some, but didn't do it as much as I should have. I totally agree with you about getting my son out walking with me, he needs to keep up the exercise to keep in shape cause he is a lazy one and will sit around and eat junk and get big, he is already a big boy, 9 years old and weighs 135 and that's only cause for the last 3 months he has been working out every day with football? He started football over 140? So he is the one that I need to get on the right track now before he ends up like i was? My daughter is a little skinny mini? She takes after her fathers family, and so I talk to her about working out and staying strong, but my son is the one I worry most about with obesity?

  4. Ugh so disgusted with myself, I gained 2 lbs for the first time in 7 months and I am so upset. Looks like it's time to re-evaluate what I am doing and eating!!!

Instead of being "disgusted with myself " over a tiny , normal fluctuation of 2 lbs, how about giving yourself a pat on the back for your progress so far ?

Pup, it happens to the best of us. This is what happens when you realize that you can eat a certain food that you hadn't been able to eat..or it could be hormonal or salt. You have been doing so great and I am proud of you, so you better not beat yourself up about this!!!

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Miss Mac good luck with your appt., @BladeFox thanks girl, I am really trying not to beat myself up, just chocking it up as a learning lesson, I havent found anything new I can eat, so I don't know how this happen, but I wasn't feeling good at all yesterday sharp pains in my stomach so I am wondering if that had a part in all of this? So I will just keep plugging along with this and see if next week is better? I was only 4 lbs from 200 and that is what discourages me, cause I am so close to onderland? lol

      Ginger Snaps

Funny I have to drop mine down. My B12 was double the high end of normal so now I just do the supplement every 2-3 days. Got some great tasting liquid you squirt under the tongue -- think it's Vitamin Shoppe's brand -- tastes like cinnamon.

Thanks I was really surprised and happy this morning to step on the scale, I thought cause I am getting so close to my goal it wasn't going to be such a good number?

  8. Went for my blood work for my first yearly physical with my primary since my surgery, so it will be interested to see what all that comes back as, and for them to see how much I have done since my surgery.

    1. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Hoping everything comes out great! My 3 month's were good except I need to up the protein and drop the B12 to every other day. So exciting to see all those numbers in the normal range!

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Yeah I am excited to see my glucose and cholesterol #'s down!!! I haven't had any of my vitamins checked since my surgery and I am 6-1/2 months out? So it will be good to know whats up? I am sure I need to up my protein too!!!

    3. BladeFox

      BladeFox

I know, I can't wait either. Everything at my surgeons office went well. All levels passed, so I can't wait to get it checked at my regular docs office too!

  9. No weight loss this week? What a bummer, but I suppose all the stress I am dealing with could have played a roll in that? Will try harder next week!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Ginger Snaps Thanks I know, I think that is probably what happen last week, this week is probably going to be just as bad if not worse but I will push through and do whatever it is I have to do to get through it. Thanks

it really does, I tried ice cream once this past summer and it made me ugh gross, and so I figured it was all the sugar, and so I tried sugar free frozen yogurt and the same thing, so I am all set with that, I do sugar free Popsicles??? I think maybe it's all the cream that are in those, I can't even drink the protein shakes post surgery cause they are too creamy even when I make them with water, but I can have greek yogurt? I don't know it's strange?

I have been so lazy lately that i barely work out if at all? I am so freaking tired running from work to football and sitting in the cold at football at night, I just have no desire to work out?

    1. Beni

      Beni

What you mean? A pound is fantastic! Hurray, hurray for you. This is a marathon and a pound lost is a pound conquered. Stake that flag, you just earned it.

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Beni, I know, that is how i feel, any pound lost is a great success for me, as I am getting closer and closer to my final goal and the pounds are coming off less and less, this week friday is my 6 month mark, and I am only 39 lbs from my goal? I am good with that!!! VERY GOOD!!! lol

    3. Jordan861
  19. So I have decided to change my final goal to 165 instead of 150, I am 5'8" and I don't think I would look right at 150 lbs, I think I would be way too skinny? I have a sister that is only 5'3" if even that, and she bounces from 155-160 and she is SKINNY, somedays I think she looks too skinny and she and I look a lot alike, except I am taller? So I just feel for my height I don't want to look sickly skinny? So 165 sounds like a perfect size for me?

@Bandista, that is great that your down to a 12 and ready to go into a 10, I fit into GAP jeans for the first time in my life, not that I am superficial and need only expensive store cloths, I got them from a cousin and so when they fit, I was amazed!!! I love it!!! I am still in a 14, which fits good right now but I know another 20 lbs or so I will be out of those and into a 12 too and then I will have no cloths? I have been hitting the 2nd hand stores when I have a couple extra bucks, and I think I am going to just start buying smaller sizes just to have cause I have enough 14's for now, and then when I am able to fit the lower ones atleast I will have something to wear that will fit? @proudgrammy thanks I think readjusting my goal was the best thing for me right now, and it just makes me realize that I don't have to look at the # in lbs, but I can look at it like whats best for me to be healthy!!!

    3. Cupcake

      Cupcake

Pupichupi that's great I'm 5'11 and my hola is 170 but if I get to thin I will reevaluated my goal I have 80 more pounds to go and I'm almost 4 months post opt keep up the great work.

@BladeFox, Yeah that is what I am still looking at my "0's" too. I am still debating what my final goal is going to be, cause originally it was to get the 150, but I don't know if that will be too small for my height? I am 5'8" and I don't want to look sick when I get down to that point, so when I get down closer to that point I will see how the final is going to be. Most people tell me I am wasting away now, lol but I know I can't stay at the point I am at now cause I am still in the obese column of the BMI Graph, I am 15lbs away from the overweight part of the graph, and for my height anywhere between 120-160 is the healthy range, so we shall see, 150 will be half of my original weight though that is why I picked that number when I started?

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Getting into that overweight category is wonderful!!! I didn't have as much to lose so I hit it pretty quickly but it still felt great. I set my initial goal on the high end of a BMI of 25 but I'll see when I get there if I want to go lower or not. Now that I'm at 49 lost (can't seem to knock off that next pound to say 50) I'm FINALLY starting to get comments about how much weight I've lost. Seems it took everyone a LONG time to start commenting! lol

      You're doing great!

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Ginger Snaps, it does feel good to get those comments doesn't it. I think I didn't start getting them till I was around 50lbs down, so don't worry it's just peoples perception of you isn't due to your weight, or they see you everyday, which is good, but wait till you see people that you haven't seen in a while, I have a birthday party for my brother on the 20th and I haven't seen anyone that will be there for probably close to 8+ months, so the last time they saw me I was pre surgery, lol so they aren't going to recognize me now??? lol no they will cause my face still looks the same just I am 1/3 the person I was??? LOL Just keep positive amp up your exercise or change it up a little and you will get that 50!!!

  23. So I went to see my surgeon the week before last, and I found out that I have a hernia right next to my big incision site, and now it's starting to really show more than before, as I loose more weight it shows more, so I don't wear anything that is tighter unless it's my undershirt. We spoke about it, and he suggests that I wait till I have lost all my weight to have it fixed? That means 60-70 more lbs before that happens? I don't know it looks funny???
