hi! saw your post on weight lost and wanted to shoot you a note. First, congrats! you are an inspiration. Second, I have not had a fill yet and am losing nicely [down a total of 52 from my top weight]. Its nice to see someone else who made the band work for them without a fill. I sometimes feel like I can't relate to other bandsters who are so fillcentric. KWIM? Anyway, I'd love to chat a bit with you about life with an empty band, as you are far further in the process than the not quite 90 days I've been living with it.

that's great news about the gym! I got back to Curves for the 1st time since surgery today...hadn't realized how much ab some of what I do has..until it pulled...OUCH! Isn't the band the most amazing thing when it comes to not eating? Its truly a blessing to me...let me know how the workout goes.

Solid foods already! Oh my! Doc has me advancing myself, but even so he really wants me to move SLOWLY. can't even imagine trying right now. Heck, the 2tbl of mush just about kills me, so I can only imagine that would be what, 2 bites of food? Anyway, I know once "food" starts, then my weightloss will slow down a bit and I'm content to kick off a few more pounds first :-) I do miss chewing though. Not sure how it will all work, my braces don't have my back teeth completely lined up, so I can chew, but don't think I can completely kill anything. there were small pieces of tuna that I couldn't pulverize and last night I noticed tiny specks of barley that my food processor couldn't mush out that fit between the space in my teeth. hope its all ok. maybe I just think too much? Are you ready to go back to work? I'm ambivalent, been fairly easy to stay on routine here at home. I am dreading getting dressed on Monday. Not sure what will fit, and the bra issue is definately worrisome.

doing good....better each day. how are you? Almost forgot I had someone playing in my guts a bit over a week ago until I picked up my foot to step into my pants and OUCH! LOL! Loving the beginnings of mushies...had 2 tbl of tuna salad that was ground to a smooth mush for lunch...funny, feels like I should be chewing the "grit" but cant......loving hummus. Now struggling with how to balance the drink, drink, drink with not drinking for an hour and half after my 2tbl of paste....have you started mushies yet? what are you eating?

Hi! doing better everyday...how about you? I had my post op appointment with my doc yesterday and he is very pleased with my progress. healing well, weight down...now just get all my energy back LOL! Hope you are well!

good to hear you are doing well. Congrats on the NSVs! I'm losing per the scale, but don't see it yet.....too funny......Am I understanding correctly? Are you eating already? I'm still on full liquids...won't get advanced until at least Wed when I see the doctor. Pain last night, not sure how much was bowel/gas/or surg....it really didn't matter, it made for a rough night. I'm going to try to get out of the house today [thought i was going to yesterday...didn't happen :-)] Have a great day!

How are you doing? Can you believe its been a week already? I'm really glad I took 2 weeks off, as I haven't even left the house yet! Its still a struggle to get all my protien in everyday, and not all the systems are running "regular" yet..KWIM?

your are not alone in the sore department! this is rough!! I've done the baby thing, and a hysterectomy..nothing like this LOL! Just trying to stay comfortable, walk a bit and rest....really bored of liquids....but can't even imagine trying to get anything else down. hang in there!

We are all here to learn and support each other! I sent you a friend request, so we can easily keep up with eachothers progress. There are at least two others with our surgery date, so you'll have lots of company to be able to relate in the next couple of weeks. :-)

That's great news! Hopefully the insurance will come thru quickly for you & we can be back on the same track again! LOL....I'm now all systems go for surgery on the 19th of April barring any last minute hitches in the giddyup. I'm down a few pre-op pounds, hoping to drop even a few more before the all liquid time starting on the 5th. Are you on a pre-pre-op diet?

Hi I am another Bako girl, and am set to have surgery with Dr. Garcia. Was curious if you are still happy with him? Did you go through MSW or SJH, and why the one you chose?

9lb! Congratulations!!! Funny how different our timelines are....as its shaping up we may still be close to the same date :-) I see you are in Maine, one of the few states I have yet to visit. I thought I wanted to go to school there but ended up elsewhere. You listed yourself as a student, what do you study? I am the mom of 2 boys and a full time attorney...

Thought I'd check in and see how its going for you...I got my approval today. Do you have your date yet? I'm scheduled for the 24th of May, unless the darn case continues and then it will move up a bit.....

That's great that you have been pre-approved....as I understand it, I am still in the "getting approved" stage? My carrier has to approve the consult, so I guess that means that are tentatively "approving" but still need the rest of the info to make an "approval, approval"...too confusing. Had my psyche yesterday. Not sure how it went. The clinician stated that he need to note that I am still dealing with some "unresolved issues" from childhood....great, huh? I could have lied about who I am/my thoughts/feelings/etc to get a "pass"...but b/c I am trying to honestly deal with my weight issues, then I get flagged as a "maybe"....go figure. It just never ends...1st you go through it, then it becomes a barrier later in life. We'll have to wait and see what happens next.

appointment went well. I need to lose 10lbs before surgery, but my cooridnatore says that will be simple with the liquid diet pre-surg, or if I've lost it already they will only put me on the liquid for a coupel days ahead of the surg. Psych is tomorrow. Biggest challenge is getting around the massive trial I hae scheduled at the begining of April. Do you have a surgery date yet, or is this all pre-approval testing?

Hi! I must have missed that you wen to Top Surgeons. Is there are reason why you didn't go with Dr. Garcia et al/MSW? I have my meeting tomorrow....

..or the trial will continue again and I'll be stuck trying to scramble.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing how your consult goes on Wed...hope its good news for you.

That's too funny about the birthdays! Happy B-day to you, as well :-)

My journey started unexpectedly when my PCP asked me what I knew about lap band surgery on Jan 4th as well....[is this getting eerie yet?]...my wls was the evening of the 5th and its been all engines go since. I passed the insurance review for surgical consult w/out any additional follow up necessary. I have my psych on the 19th...ugly packet. How, exactly, are we supposed to answer it? I can't help it, I'm a lawyer by trade. I tend to read questions fairly literally...

Anyway, looks like my biggest hangup in this whole process may be my trial schedule. I've got doozy that is overdue to start April 5th..so I really can't schedule before it...and its slated to take 6 weeks...so I don't really want to start the liquid diet thing until its done so it could be into June before my schedule opens up
