I have Aetna. I met with the Nut three times well four she wanted an extra visit. I was not required to lose a set percentage. The program wanted to see me lose. I had to journal everything. When I am fully cleared this month they want me to use that training to eat for the rest of my life.

Yeah I havent really experienced any gall stone symptoms but have had nausea lately and I guess that answers it.

So I saw the pyschriatrist today and took that awesome 370 true false test. I laughed out loud several times. I think the session went well and he told me I didnt appear to have any dysfunctional eating habits. I then saw my surgeon. He was happy I have lost 15 pounds since I was there in February. My insurance requires 10% of your weight lost and a six month supervised diet. So he asked if i had considered any others besides the sleeve and I was like no. He said he was asking because they have submitted for half a dozen and none have been approved so far,. He even said he one lady who cant have any other with my specific insurer and they denied her so they are appealing. He feels my insurance will be the last one to pay for the sleeve. I asked about the dds. He talked about it and and said oh you would be a candidate. He stated I do it open though. I was like well do you ever do it in two parts and he was like oh I get it. Yeah I can stage it as though you are doing it in two parts and you dont have to get the second part. So he is trying it that way. I also have gall stones and may need my gallstones so I may need my gall bladder removed when they do my surgery. Oh did i mention I love my surgeons office.

Yeah the nurse told me that a lot of people come in there with no idea about surgery at all. I was like wow this is a major decision and I will be informed.

So we got dumped on by a major storm and I didnt even make it to work but I made it to my consult. I was brought in by a nurse and weighed in at 439 and with a BMI of 61. Then a second nurse came in to do a work up and get family history and explain to me all of the different surgeries. She seemed shocked at what I knew already. I was like hey I am a tad obsessive and am on the web every night reading about the sleeve. Then my surgeon came in he was so nice and said that yeah the sleeve was perfect choice for me and that i had to lose 10 percent of my body weight in the next six months for insurance approval. I asked and yes they do a leak test. I was then sent to the bariatric cordinator who schedule me to get all kinds of tests done. I will be contacted by the nutritonist and the psychriatrist so I can start that part as well. They had me in there for two hours and were so helpful and friendly. I have to go back to them in six weeks. They want me to lose slowly about a pound a week. I said hey I will do optifast I dont care. He said nope just watch the carb intake and get plenty of protein. They dont think they will have a probelm getting me approved for insurance. I am very glad I chose this program because they answered every question and really appear to support me. I will post more as I continue this process but I was so happy to take this first step. :thumbup:

I went to the info session today. I didnt learn anything new but it is required. I filled out the information form and will be contacted in 5 days to have a consult. They are having success in getting approval for surgery. I got lost finding the conference room and and asked directions and it turned out it was the surgeon. He shook my hand and actually lead me there. Seemed like a nice guy. His associate did the seminar. So we will see where it all goes from here.

Well I am still waiting for my chosen surgeon to be able to accept my insurance so I have not yet started the lap band process. I am around 440 pounds. I have always been very sexual. I have it. I have been using my Cpap machine for 5 years or so now. I used to fall asleep all the time. even while driving a few times. I now sleep more soundly and can go alot less sleep than I did in the past. I feel so restful and better now. I won't lie it sucks wearing a mask while you sleep but I have used it every night since I got my machine. When you stop breathing your pulse rises and the health detriments are horrible.The good news once you lose weight it usually goes away. One of the reasons I want to lose. It will also help you be a better canidate for the surgery. You had done whats called a split sleep study. When you go back they will put a mask on you and see which PSI works best to open your airway. You see when we are overweight the fat closes our airway while we sleep the machine stops this.
