  1. I'm 9 months out, and although I've never been much of a salt user, I love it now. I noticed this craving a few months ago and wondered if it was due to some deficiency. I will be interested to hear what your doctor says. Karen
  2. Is the group meeting at Arden Fair on June18?
  3. Does anyone know what happens if you have celery? I had stomach cramps last night and wondered if I may have had some celery in my lunch yesterday. Why can't we have corn or popcorn? I think I remember it was because it was hard to digest. If normal people can have it, why can't we? What happens if we do?
  4. There is no lifting of anything over 20 lbs until you meet with the doctor, 1 month after your surgery. You can then resume exercising.

Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. I have an appointment on Wed. in SF with a surgeon. I am still being referred to the transplant team but it looks like the plan is to cut out part of the liver with the tumors. Right now, I'm on pureed foods, which often go down like cement! My liver specialist doesn't want me losing more than 3 pounds a week because it's hard on the liver, making this whole process a little more stressful! Other than that, my recovery has gone very well. Karen

Hi Everyone, I had the sleeve surgery on Oct. 20. During the surgery, Dr. Baggs saw a nodule on my liver and biopsied. it. It came back cirrhosis. Then, a few days later, I learned I had liver cancer. As a light drinker, this was shocking. My liver specialist told me that being overweight is as bad for the liver as being a heavy drinker. Hopefully, early detection will save my life. I won't know more until my CAT scan results for Monday's tests are back. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, Karen

  8. I just wanted to let everyone know I was sleeved on Wednesday, Oct. 20. It was pretty rough as I think I forgot to prepare myself for the pain part! For people who wonder if they are too old, I'll be 54 next month, and came through, albeit probably more slowly than some of you youngsters!
  9. Has anyone passed their first year mark with the sleeve? I am wondering what that will be like. I'm scheduled for Oct. 20. I'm retiring this week so this is a big month for me. Karen

I went to Orientation last January and took forever to lose the weight. It sounds like you are doing fine but I was disappointed to hear how far out they are scheduling teh surgery. Karen

The sleeve and I finally have a date: October 20. I was disappointed the date is so far out so let's hope they can get me in sooner!
  12. My surgery date for the sleeve is 10/20. I wish it was tomorrow. See y'all on Saturday. Karen
