  1. I will be starting eating regular food next week and am wondering if most of you are able to eat beans and salads once you were able to eat normal foods.
  2. I was banded on January 5th and haven't had any problems. Didn't have any pre-op diet though. Went for my post-op visit 10 days after surgery and had lost 14 pounds. I go for my first fill on February 12th. I just started to eat soft foods this week with no problems. Can start a regular diet next week. So far I haven't had any real hunger but I figure I will start getting hungry after I start eating a regular diet.
  3. People have told me I didn't need lapband also but I currently don't have any health issues and that was one of the reasons I had the surgery now instead of waiting until I did develop health issues. When people say you don't need it just tell them you need to do it for yourself, you're not doing it for anyone else. I suppose many people also think it's the easy way to lose weight but it's anything but. Keep up the good work. I was banded on January 5th and have lost 14 pounds since the surgery so I have to say other than being tired I'm doing very well.
  4. I was banded 1/5 and have no appetite at all but I have to be on full liquids for 3 weeks. Being a nurse I am strictly following what my surgeon has told me to eat. I don't know how much was put in my band but I am thrilled I am never hungry. Be very careful about what you eat, there's a reason the doctors have you on specific diets.
  5. My BMI is about 34-35 and I go for my banding tomorrow. Did you all have some type of fill the day of your surgery? I think all the doctors have different ways of doing things. I am paying for my own surgery so I think I'll be motivated.
