  1. Yes but I don't really like either of them.
  2. Congrats Kelly!! Help guys I get banded tomorrow and I'm starving today. I'm on day 10 of my pre op liquid diet and I'm starving and I would do anything for some real food:(
  3. Thanks everyone! I'll let you know how it goes. I'm hoping not too bad.
  4. Good luck!!! You and I are both getting banded tomorrow!! I'm so, so excited and I'm a little nervous. Hopefully it will go great for us both!
  5. Yeah I got the whole sampler pack from Nectar I just didn't really like the strawberry ones. I liked the cappucino and chocolate so much that I ordered full size containers of those.
  6. LOL! I had to laugh at that. You're right though doctor's always make you wait or reschedule.
  7. I just wanted to say Congratulations to you!!
  8. Have you found a good strawberry powder? I've tried a couple but they were just so-so. Not really impressive. I currently have Un Jury in chocolate, vanilla and Unflavored and Syntrax nectar in Cappucino and Chocolate Truffle. I'd love to find a good strawberry flavor though. I tried Un Jury's and Syntrax Nectar and I didn't really like either of those. Any ideas??
  9. Amen to that! I don't know what size some of my pants are. My shirts are now tagless so there's no hiding that:( I'm not looking forward to my boobs shrinking though. I kinda like em the way they are:)
  10. I'm 20% nervous/scared and 80% EXCITED!!! I can't wait to have it done and I can't wait to be back home and have it over with. I can't believe I'm getting banded and I can't believe my insurance is paying for it! I'm so excited and happy to see this day come:)
  11. Talk to your surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Hopefully it was just a rare fluke thing and it won't happen again.
  12. I know what you mean. I used to work for a family doctor and the drug reps constantly brought in full course meals and dessert and I was dieting. They never could take NO for answer. They acted like I was offending them by not breaking my diet to eat their food. Just stick out!! Your almost there!
  13. These are all great ideas! I stay really busy all the time so right now it's easier for me to just do protein powder and water. Boring I know but it's the easiest right now.
  14. The thing is once you lose the weight you may end up with gallstones and need it removed. When they do the Lap Band they will already be in that area so it's no big deal to take it out. I have mine out and I haven't suffered any GI problems whatsoever and I had absolutely ZERO pain from the surgery. You do seem to have your mind made up but there is a reason your surgeon is a surgeon. He didn't go to medical school for years to give you bad advice and he has no reason to take out your gallbladder unless he really thinks it's medically necessary b/c insurance will NOT pay him to do that. They will bundle it with the Lap Band and he will get the same amount of money either way.
  15. I do have some Phenergan tabs at home. I thought we couldn't have Motrin, only Tylenol??
  16. I don't do very well with narcotic pain meds. They make me really, really sick to my stomach. I can't take Vicodin at all. The only ones I can take with no problem are Utracet and Darvocet. The doc is giving me liquid Lortab- Isn't that just like Vicodin? For the first 3 days I'll have a Scopolamine patch. That should keep me from throwing up. So my questions are: Will I need the pain meds past 3 days? Should I say something to him now? I'd rather have Tylenol with Codeine if I'm going to need it longer than 3 days. I usually just deal with the pain and I don't take anything for it but he said this will mainly be chest pain and that scares me. I did have arthroscopic surgery on my knee. They explored it and worked on my tendons. I was in a lot of pain but I coped and never took anything stronger than Tylenol. Should I just stock up on liquid Tylenol??
  17. I was in the same place you are. Where I'm at it's $12900 cash. We got approved for the full amount through Care Credit but thankfully my insurance approved me. Just remember if you are denied the first time you still have the right to appeal and you may win your appeal. Good Luck to you!
  18. There are so many things I'm looking forward to: Finally losing the weight for good Getting off my blood pressure meds Getting off my C Pap machine Having less pain in my knees Being able to run and keep up with my kiddos Not sweating so much I'm so excited about this journey. When I went to my pre op appt yesterday I was a little nervous b/c well doctors make me nervous. But I left there feeling great. The staff is so nice and they are very, very excited for all their bariatric patients. They had nothing but good things to say and I just felt completely at ease. Even my surgeon spent a good amount of time with me answered all my questions completely and honestly and he has a great sense of humor. I hate stuffy doctors. I'd rather have someone that will laugh with me. I'm so ready to go!!
  19. That's good to hear!! Your doing great by the way!
  20. Don't worry I'm not offended. You guys are telling me the truth. I don't know if I'd do that Magnesia. Why not up your exercise instead? I have a treadmill and I get on it every time I think about eating something. It keeps me busy instead.
  21. Let him do it. Most of the time when you lose a lot of weight it causes gallstones so your gallbladder has to be removed anyway. It sounds to me like he's on the right track.
  22. Thanks guys! I've decided to stay the course and keep to my liquids. I have 12 pounds to go until my first goal of 199!! So I'm just going to stick and out and keep watching the scale go down.
  23. Thanks everyone! The appointment was GREAT! Because I have high blood pressure the hospital required me to have extra labwork and an EKG. As long as that's all normal then I'm set to go for Friday!
  24. I had my pre op appt today. My surgery is set for Friday:thumbup: They wanted me to lose 10 pounds-as of today I've lost 16. Do you think it would really hurt if I ate a last favorite meal for supper Thursday night??
  25. I agree just keep moving that's the best thing for it. Congrats!!
