  1. I'm sorry. Is it your insurance that won't accept them or the doctor?
  2. I was given a surgery date the same day my insurance approved me.
  3. Yep all liquids and I'm drinking 80 oz of water a day on top of that.
  4. LOL at Laura and Mel:) I had female surgery a few months ago and honestly I could have cared less what was going on but my SIL works as a scrub tech and later on she laughed and said she checked in on me. Her exact words were I saw you but you couldn't see me and then she laughed. I don't even want to know what she saw and I'm never using her hospital again. LOL
  5. I agree with you. Plus size jeans are so flipping big in the legs. They make me look awful. I'll have to check those out.
  6. Well in my area surgeon's split up everything now just b/c insurance will pay them more for 2 separate procedures. If they do both at once the insurance will bundle it and they will get a discounted rate instead. I go for my Lap Band next Friday and then in a few weeks I have to go back to have a partial hysterectomy. I hate having to have 2 surgeries in a row but my Lap Band surgeon doesn't do hysterectomies and my Ob/Gyn doesn't do Lap Band so I'm stuck.
  7. I have a CPap and I used to wear it religiously but I haven't used it in a while. Mine is an older model with no chip in it. It just has an hour meter on it so as long as it's on it will run without me wearing it and the hours will count up. My mask got broken and when I went to get a new one it was a totally different kind. I can't get used to it and insurance won't pay for another one right now. My apnea is mild though so once I lose weight it should go away on it's own.
  8. Well I'm on day 4 and I've been chewing gum and staying busy. I've done lots of housework and spent lots of time on the treadmill. When I really feel the urge to eat I pop a piece of sugar free gum.
  9. I've lost 10 pounds!!! I'm sure some of it is water weight though. My rings wouldn't fit on Tuesday when I started the diet and today they slide on smoothly. I'm doing so good that my Monday weigh in was cancelled! Now I weigh in and see my surgeon on Tuesday and go do my pre op tests. I'm so excited!! Edited to add: My BMI will be less than 35 by surgery day. That won't cause an issue with my insurance will it?
  10. Good luck to you! I hope your recovering and feel well by now.
  11. I'm on the lower end also but I've struggled with my weight for 10 years now. I'm ready to get the Lap Band and make some permanent changes. I think you should get another trainer. The one you have is not going to be 100% supportive of you.
  12. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!! Teach01- No I don't get any real food at all.
  13. You are so right about that! I want this so badly!
  14. I'm Amanda and my surgery is set for August 6th. I first thought about Lap Band in 2007 after the birth of my daughter but I told myself that I didn't need it I just needed to work harder. By the time I got pregnant with my third baby in August of last year I decided I needed Lap Band desperately. My little one was born in March and now here I am. My first surgeon appointment was in May. I'm on day 3 of my 10 day liquid pre op diet. It sucks but it will be worth it in the end!
  15. Well my insurance doesn't require a referral so I selected my surgeon and started their. They called my insurance and found that my insurance did not require a 6 month diet. So after that I did the nutritionist visit and psych consult and that was all I needed.
  16. Yeah I'm on no caffeine and I normally drink Diet Dr Pepper, Coffee and Tea. Maybe I just need a little caffeine? My doctor allows caffeine but you have to drink either tea or coffee and for the pre op part he wants it unsweetened and I can't do that. I like it with Splenda in it instead.
  17. It really does suck:( I wish my surgeon could take out my uterus while I'm under. I hate to have 2 surgeries back to back:(
  18. My BMI wasn't 40 either but my co morbidities got me qualified anyway. Good luck to you!
  19. I'm on day 3 and my head hurts so bad today and I'm sick to my stomach. ICK. I hope this passes soon.
  20. I have a headache and I'm very sick to my stomach. I'm drinking my Protein shakes and getting my Water in it. This will pass right?
  21. My biggest problem is that I can go hours with no bleeding and then suddenly it starts up again out of nowhere. That's what really sucks about it:(
  22. My insurance company said up to 30 days but it only took them 8 to approve me.
