  1. I know it makes me nervous but a friend of mine works for my surgeon and just got banded by him 8 months ago. She swears she had no problems and that all patients start eating again at week 3.
  2. It looks like your doc is following the real Lap Band Post Op diet. Your Diet after LAP-BAND® System Surgery | LAP-BAND®
  3. Right before I started the pre op diet my PCP lowered my thyroid meds a bit. For the last 3 weeks I've been freezing. Normally I keep the a/c on 78 and I wear shorts around the house and still sweat. Now I'm freezing a lot of the time and I'm fine in pants instead of shorts. I think my thyroid meds may have been lowered too much but a banded friend of mine said it's b/c of my weight loss. She said she was cold at first too. So what do you guys think? I've only lost 18 pounds surely that's not enough to freeze me right? I see my PCP again on Tuesday for more bloodwork.
  4. Most of it I lost on the 10 day pre op diet. I've only lost a few pounds since surgery and right now I'm stalled. I think it's because I'm not eating enough. I've only been getting around 500 calories MAX per day. I need to increase it some and try to shake things up a bit.
  5. So I'm curious since all these doctors have different diets what week does your doc allow you regular solid foods again? My says at the start of week 3/ Day 15 post op.
  6. I've been itching since last Saturday but the itch was around my incisions and not the actual incisions. Well the itch got very, very bad and I noticed a rash around all my incisions. I know I shouldn't have but on Thursday I couldn't stand it anymore. I pulled it all off. My itching has now stopped and the redness is fading. My incisions are completely closed on the inside but not on the outside. There are no signs of infection. I only pulled it off b/c I knew I had stitches on the inside so I wasn't worried about them popping open. Anyway you think I could take a shallow bath now? I've been putting prescription Bactroban ointment on them twice a day just in case.
  7. According to my diet sheet next Friday/Saturday I'm supposed to start eating regular foods again. Some things listed are deli meat, chicken/ham/tuna salad, lean tender meats and raw fruits and vegetables. We're going out of town for the weekend and I'm freaking out about this. I'm afraid I'm going to get sick or something. What did you guys eat the first regular week and did you have any problems?
  8. I still can't believe I did it either. I'm glad though and I can't wait to start having real food again.
  9. Today I had a pumpkin pie shake. I got it off the bariatriceating.com site. It was really good!! I'll have to try adding pudding though. I have lots of SF FF pudding mixes.
  10. I was burping a lot at first also. It finally stopped a couple of days ago. It was making me crazy at first.
  11. I was on clear liguids for 2 days and then full liquids for 5 days. I'm supposed to be on purees now but I'm waiting until my appt on Tuesday first. It seems every doctor has a different diet plan.
  12. I personally don't like baby food but it's fine if you stick to the whole fruit and veggie ones. Don't buy the dessert ones. Any of them that say medley have added sugars.
  13. I'm using Vitafusion Gummy chewables. I can't stand anything that's powdery like Centrum or Flintstones.
  14. Okay now I have that. How long does it last?
  15. Yay! I'm glad it went well and your back home.
  16. Oh yeah. If I drop something on the floor it can just stay there until dh or my ds picks it up. I don't even bother.
  17. I'm with you. I start pureed on Tuesday. I was supposed to start tomorrow but since my follow up appt isn't until Tuesday they said to wait until then. I'm so ready for something other than liquified Soup.
  18. It's on my list also but it does state that it's not the greatest source of protein.
  19. My doctor says it can. I've never noticed a difference no matter what I weigh though. I lost 45 pounds and made my worse instead of better.
  20. Do you guys have any port pain yet? OMG! I do. Sometimes it's not too bad but sometimes it's so sharp it's terrible.
  21. Thanks Betsy! There are some tasty looking recipes there.
  22. I had to come back and read over this thread. I'm having port pain also. It's always there but sometimes it's rather sharp if I turn the wrong way. I'll be glad when it passes.
  23. Pickle pops guys. Freeze the pickle juice. It tastes just as good and lasts much longer.
  24. I'm sick of it also!!! I was supposed to move on tomorrow but my follow up appointment isn't until Tuesday so they said to wait til then instead. I'm absolutely STARVING today!!!
  25. How in the world do you stay regular after being banded? I used to use Phillips Capsules- I can't stand the liquid but that's not an option now. Any recs for me?
