  1. Good advice. Thanks!
  2. I haven't had a fill for maybe a month -- and it's odd, I'm kind of scared to go back in because I want to have lost weight before going! But you know what, that's silly. I'm going to call tomorrow and schedule one. I think I need it!
  3. I haven't been losing weight for at least a month or two. It's my fault. I haven't been eating total garbage at all, but I've definitely fallen off that wagon and am getting back on. Any suggestions as to how to do this in a way that doesn't make me feel deprived? Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks, everyone, for your insight. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself, and to use the band as a tool and not as a punishment. Happy new year!
  5. Hi all! I've been banded since Aug. 5 and have lost 30 pounds throughout the process, including 10 pounds before the surgery. I'm up to 5.5 ccs in a 10-cc band and while I don't have the kind of restriction I'd like, I know I'm getting there. However, I've been obsessive about food, and it's gotten worse since the surgery. I punish myself for everything I eat, no matter what it is. I spend hours thinking about Why Did I Eat This? and What's Wrong With Me For Eating That? Of course, it doesn't stop me from eating, but it just makes me punish myself for it. Anyone else experience this?
  6. Thanks everyone, for your support (and the recipe!). I'm now on the pureed diet, moving to solid food, and MUCH happier!
  7. That would be great! Please post!
  8. Bree99, I second you on the Special K protein drinks (and on the protein supplements, yuck!).
  9. Oh, I can eat things other than broth. I was just exaggerating. I was banded Aug. 5, so I'm 7 days post-op ... and learned today that I can phase pureed foods into my diet! Yay!
  10. I was banded Aug. 5 and seem to be tolerating the liquid diet well -- physically. (Emotionally is a whole different thing.) The incision where the port is is still a little sore, but nothing I can't handle. I just worry for the future. I feel that I've made a HUGE commitment and while I know I'm ready for it, it's scary!
  11. So I had a little meltdown yesterday. I am so sick of this liquid diet! Supposedly the nurse at the bariatric program is going to get back to me today to add some things to my diet (puree, please!) but I haven't heard from her yet. It is SO frustrating. I mean, I can't argue with having lost 7 pounds in a little less than a week since surgery, but if I never look at another plate of chicken broth again, it'll be too soon!
  12. Probably fluids from the procedure. They'll flush out soon, I bet.
  13. I came home from the hospital having gained 10 lbs. Hang in there -- the fluid weight should go away soon.
  14. Great to hear! I'm looking forward to running as well.
