  1. Good advice. Thanks!
  2. I haven't had a fill for maybe a month -- and it's odd, I'm kind of scared to go back in because I want to have lost weight before going! But you know what, that's silly. I'm going to call tomorrow and schedule one. I think I need it!
  3. I haven't been losing weight for at least a month or two. It's my fault. I haven't been eating total garbage at all, but I've definitely fallen off that wagon and am getting back on. Any suggestions as to how to do this in a way that doesn't make me feel deprived? Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks, everyone, for your insight. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself, and to use the band as a tool and not as a punishment. Happy new year!
  5. Hi all! I've been banded since Aug. 5 and have lost 30 pounds throughout the process, including 10 pounds before the surgery. I'm up to 5.5 ccs in a 10-cc band and while I don't have the kind of restriction I'd like, I know I'm getting there. However, I've been obsessive about food, and it's gotten worse since the surgery. I punish myself for everything I eat, no matter what it is. I spend hours thinking about Why Did I Eat This? and What's Wrong With Me For Eating That? Of course, it doesn't stop me from eating, but it just makes me punish myself for it. Anyone else experience this?
  6. Thanks everyone, for your support (and the recipe!). I'm now on the pureed diet, moving to solid food, and MUCH happier!
  7. That would be great! Please post!
  8. Bree99, I second you on the Special K protein drinks (and on the protein supplements, yuck!).
  9. Oh, I can eat things other than broth. I was just exaggerating. I was banded Aug. 5, so I'm 7 days post-op ... and learned today that I can phase pureed foods into my diet! Yay!
  10. I was banded Aug. 5 and seem to be tolerating the liquid diet well -- physically. (Emotionally is a whole different thing.) The incision where the port is is still a little sore, but nothing I can't handle. I just worry for the future. I feel that I've made a HUGE commitment and while I know I'm ready for it, it's scary!
  11. So I had a little meltdown yesterday. I am so sick of this liquid diet! Supposedly the nurse at the bariatric program is going to get back to me today to add some things to my diet (puree, please!) but I haven't heard from her yet. It is SO frustrating. I mean, I can't argue with having lost 7 pounds in a little less than a week since surgery, but if I never look at another plate of chicken broth again, it'll be too soon!
  12. Probably fluids from the procedure. They'll flush out soon, I bet.
  13. I came home from the hospital having gained 10 lbs. Hang in there -- the fluid weight should go away soon.
  14. Great to hear! I'm looking forward to running as well.
  15. DodgerFan - LOL, literally. (And I never say that.) This thread convinces me that I'm in good company -- I've been belching a ton!
  16. Less than five days after surgery, I'm in Onederland. Liquid diet difficulties aside, I'm happy!
  17. Thanks all! I called my doctor today and was told to call back on Thursday -- they can perhaps add some things at that time. Can't wait for the purees!
  18. I'm with Dman. I hate the protein shakes, but I've been working to get those down as they definitely help with the fatigue. When I get bored with the protein and go to Popsicles and Jello, I might as well lie down and take a nap all day.
  19. Good for you! Keep up the good work!
  20. Three days out and there are times I pretty well feel starving. It's really hard to think that it's going to be 10 days until I get on the pureed diet. I really appreciate all the suggestions here.
  21. Certified scaredy cat here and so glad you told us this! Thanks.
  22. I let myself go through the emotions, then slowly try to come down from the desire to eat. I try not to suppress what I'm feeling, but to look at it and understand the place from where it comes. It's meditation, in a way, and it's helpful.
  23. I'm laughing because before tonight I had never known of the Bandster Hell concept. Boy, do I understand that and I'm only three days out. Thanks to you all for sharing your experiences because it really helps!
