Roux en y
You might try the 'Gastric Bypass Complications support Group'. I don't know if anyone's story is similar or not. Good luck. I can't imagine how hard it must be to watch your child suffer.

Protein iced coffee or mocha
I used the proteidiet hot cocoa mixed with coffee straight from the kuereg....the hot cocoa doesn't clump like the protein shakes do and I can get it scalding hot it's 90 calories and 15 grams of protein so not as much as most protein shakes, but still respectable! (And yummy straight too)

RICE?
Tomassini, I too am allowed to eat anything in moderation (well, almost anything). I can go out fir dinner and eat a small tortilla with chicken, cheese, etc, a few bites of beans and a bite it two of rice. It all sets well. But, that said, I've never had more than a could bites of rice. If your doc says fine, give it a try. I'd try 1 new thing at a time and use common sense in your choices. Go slow and be patient with your tummy.

Alcohol?
Using logic and caution shouldn't piss anyone off. I think your response was spot on. When in doubt, ask your team!

lost of hair
Do a search for hair loss...there are a zillion threads. It's one of the most common post-op issues and pre-op questions. You can find tons of info on here about it.

Post op protein.
I came nowhere never meeting protein goal for 5-6 weeks post op. My doc said not to fret it, get what I could and focus on hydration.

Fabulous February Post-Op's
1-enjoy the journey. Keep a goal in mind but celebrate your day to day success. This is the journey of a lifetime. Enjoy the ride!!! 2-be realistic with yourself-have realistic goals and expectations. Not everyone Loses 10 pounds a week, you can't compare yourself to others (well, you can, but shouldn't) individual loss varies HUGELY 3-just breathe. This will eat you up and drive you crazy if you let it. Change your life, change your lifestyle, change your choices, change it all. Create a new you. Do whatever you want on the journey of a healthier you. But don't let it consume you. Enjoy your family, enjoy your friends, enjoy your life. But work your new lifestyle into all of that. Don't forget everything around you and focus entirely on your weight loss. Don't forget to live.

Primary care Drs. reluctant to sign
You're PCPs personal issues should not interfere with professional judgement. This is a case of what is best for you medically, not what your PCP does or doesn't like. Does he (or she) have a specific reason or are they just blowing you off?

Fluids
I swallow regular sized swallows now (11 months post) but I really never was much of a sipper either.

Fabulous February Post-Op's
Sigh. 11 months, 11 days post-op and I just got stuck on chicken and threw up real food for the first time ever. Picky darn pouches.
-
Dumping
Unless that tablet had a lot of sugar, I doubt it was dumping. I'd lean more towards it simply got stuck, hurt like heck and has now irritated your pouch. When in doubt, ask your team. Treat your pouch gently for a few days, definitely baby it. But I gotta say, Amy pain that has you screaming and groaning is probably ER worthy.....(even from a rural location...that's a pretty extremely reaction). Hope you feel well soon!!!!

Pickiest of eaters!

Did i screw up?
yes and slim fast was on her list of approved shakes, she just grabbed the wrong type of slim fast. Point being, some programs do use slim fast, if your program says it's okay I recommend doing what they say. I personally think slim fast is crap. However, that's not what her program states.

Did i screw up?
Your concern at this point would be fatigue and muscle loss. As long as the carbs and calories aren't higher you should be okay but talk with your nut, they're going to want you getting the extra protein ASAP. I don't think you screwed up your liver shrink though since it sounds like carbs/calories were the same. Also....stick with your directions from your program. If your program says to use a specific shake, stick with it. I don't recommend changing because someone on the internet says what your doc recommends is wrong without discussing it with your team.

I ate a Zinger and had a Foodgasm!
Bread and butter are a staple in my life now. I used to be a dill girl.

Dumping
I don't puke with dumping. Queasy, but never feel the. Need to throw up.

February Surgeries
just be prepared, those first 3-4 days are harsh....

Dumping
For instance!!!! One of my go to breakfasts if I don't want a shake or bar or want to cook, is peanut butter toast. Averages about 17 carbs, 12 fat, and 8 protein with my ingredients (I know it's not perfect, tests why I don't do it often...but I LOVE it!!!). Eat it 1-2 times a month, maybe, never once have I had an issue with it...until this morning. It wasn't horrible, but a definite mild dump, heart racing, clammy, dizzy, queasy. Not sure what I did to deserve that this time
