  1. Officially had my 1st PB today. I just had to have that 1 pretzel on my way out the door from work didn't I?? I wasn't even hungry!! That'll teach me (prob not). Have any of you had this happen....I went for fill#3 on Friday. I always have the PA do my fills and we both thought that at fill #2 I was at 4cc's. She pulls all of the fluid out each time to check and at fill # 3 I was only at 3cc's. I lost a cc somewhere! Where did it go?? She told me not to worry it's not uncommon, but do I have a leak??? So now I am at 3.6cc's and hopefully when I go back on April 23rd they will all still be there.
  2. Hope you all don't mind if I join your group! I know some of you from the December Delights! I was banded 12/16/09 and have lost ALMOST 30lbs now. Went for fill #3 today and got a very conservative one (leaving for the weekend and will be 3 1/2 hours away from a hospital), but scheduled fill #4 for only 3 weeks away. I have not gone back and read EVERYTHING, but everyone seems to be doing great! I have gotten myself stuck once, but have yet to PB or slime even though I was so stuck that I was praying for it lol. My next goal is to be able to do a 5k (jogging that is...can do one walking now). We'll see how that goes. Definitly giving myself lots of time to build up to it. Last time I tried pre-op I got 5 stress fractures in my foot and wound up in a cast for a month. I told my dr that's what happens when you make a fat girl exercise lol. I think I was pushing too hard then (at least I hope!)
  3. Have any of you tried the couch to 5k program, and if so does it work?? I would LOVE to be able to jog a 5k. I know I need to approach it slowly because I have bad knees (even though I am not even 29) and when I was on my 6mo pre-op diet I was trying some jogging and ended up with 5 stress fractures in my foot and a cast for almost 2 months :cursing:. I know that being able to jog will help so much with the weight loss....just not sure of the best way to approach it. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!!
  4. LOL..I like the poll idea! Mine was just 2 days ago
  5. Have any of you ever had a stuck episode with no sliming? This was my first REAL stuck..lasted about 30 mins and felt like some of the worst heartburn/stabbing pains I've ever felt, but I had no sliming. I almost wished for it so that it would take the food up or down! I also noticed I burped alot too. It finally went down :smile2: and I have put myself on liquids for the rest of the day. Just wondering if anyone else has had a stuck with no slime.
  6. Sounds like it's up my alley! Saw your pics on FB and looks fun! :smile2:
  7. Dr. sent me home with pain meds (Roxicet--allergic to codeine) and told me for the 1st few days to take them faithfully every 4 to 6 hours to stay ahead of the pain...so if I was achy or in pain I couldn't really tell you :w00t:. Maybe just try that? I hated to think I was relying on them...but I am also a big boob! After 2 days of that though I took less and less (mostly night time) and was great! Feel better soon everyone!!! :smile2:
  8. I've lost 25lbs and not even 1 dress size yet :w00t:!! I carry most of my weight in my abdomen and have lost most of my weight in my thighs and butt---so now I just have a saggy ass and baggy legs on pants that fit my waist .
  9. Congrats to all of you! I was told to sip about an ounce every 10-15 mins for the first few days. After that it was as big or as often as i could tolerate. Hope that helps Brian-Pain really wasn't a big deal for me--even the dreaded gas pain we read so much about! The first few days per dr's orders I took my pain meds every 4 hours whether it felt like I needed or not. After day 3--I really didn't take them much at all. I would say it was "uncomfortable" more than painful. I am also a belly sleeper and was sleeping on my stomach within the first week! Of course I am lucky and only have 2 very tiny incisions though! Good Luck tomorrow!!!!! :w00t:
  10. My surgeon's asst (she does my fills) always sings to me to "just keep swimming" from FInding Nemo :cursing:
  11. Yes--please don't pass it this way either :crying: and congrats! Brian--Congrats on your upcoming date! :cursing:
  12. I really need a motivator--and a fill! I just really don't like exercise and just the other night I ate 5 pieces of pizza--yes you read that right 5 pieces ! I am 28 going on 29 in Aug. and just really want this to work and want to be healthy but am so scared of failure that I really haven't begun to try! I have (somehow) maintained my weight-loss, but I need help! 1 week till fill #2
  13. Egg Drop Soup is good as well!
  14. YAY!!!! So happy for you Todd! Someday if I can stop eating all this crap I have been eating  and get a fill that actually gives me restriction :tt2: I will be there with ya!
  15. I am not down a jean size yet...but they are baggy. However I was at work yesterday (thank God I had pants on and not a skirt or anything) and my underweat kept falling down :crying:!! Obviously not the whole way down cause of the jeans I had on, but had to keep hiding to pull them up :scared2:.
  16. Also a 12/16 bandster and only 1 fill and WAITING VERY IMPATIENTLY for the 2nd. Not till the end of the month though ! Have been eating horribly (darn Aunt Flo and her making me crave things!) and shhhhh......went to McDonalds today and ate a cheeseburger and small fries . (It was delicious ) Needless to say I ate the whole thing--but I guess I do have SOME restriction because pre-op I would've eaten 2 cheeseburgers and a large fries followed by a mocha frappe. So the band IS there--just not where it should be (and well...I need to make better food choices too)
  17. LOL That is always the analogy I use!!
  18. BTW Btrieger--Your weightloss so far WITHOUT your band is very admirable. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. With how much you have put into this prior to surgery, I am sure you will be a success story
  19. Viv--So happy someone can relate! It is a weird sensation. It's not pain--but like you said there is something there and in the way and it sticks out alot! The little twitches are starting to worry me too. Maybe I should call and ask tomorrow. I am sure I am just being my usual worry wart!
  20. Had to bring this back up because it has been almost 8 weeks...and it STILL looks like I am hiding a small kitten under my skin . If I suck my gut in parts of my stomach still stick WAY out! Do you think it still needs more time?? It's been almost 2 months. Anyone else experience this?????
  21. Question..I have been banded for 7 1/2 weeks now. When I suck my gut in....where I know my stomach and band are still protrude quite a bit (swollen still???). If I bend over at the waist it feels like there is something there. Now for the last few days I have been getting the feeling of twitches or muscle spasms there. They aren't painful-just annoying. Anyone else experience this and am I ok?
