  1. the thng that i really want to do is to go to disneyworld. my kids have all gone there and i've lived in fl for 15 yrs but i have never gone. i'm too afraid that i will get on a ride and i won't be able to buckle up.
  2. i didn't realize how heavy i really look until i was sitting in an exam room at my husband's dr. and saw myself in a full length mirror. what a surprise that was. i felt alot smaller than i looked. when i was an average weight in high school i felt heavier than i really looked. it's amazing how our mind works.
  3. i don't know about the calcium but i take centrum silver chewable multi vitamins and b12 sublingual. both are from walmart. i also called my pharmacist and asked which of my prescription pills are crushable. they can be crushed and put into a little bit of applesauce. all but one was crushable, the other one came in sprinkles which i could could sprinkle on my food. i just needed my primary doctor to order them that way.
  4. i started doing the same thing, eating all the things i thought i would miss. then i realized that after the bank i will be able to eat anything i want, just less of it. i love my soda too. can we shake out the carbonation and drink it then?
  5. my banding is july 12th. i had to do the 6 month thing which actually turned out to be a year. in the midst of it all i have lost 35 lbs. today i went to the matinee movie with my 9 year old grandaughter to see shreck. as i sat there i realized that i could actually fit into the seat without much problem. even just losing that small amount (compared to the 150 i have left to lose) has made a difference in my life. my feet and back don't hurt as much and i can walk farther without getting out of breath. i already see how much better my life will be with the band.
  6. july 12th for me. i can't wait. i've been working on getting this for almost a year now.
  7. It's july 12th. i started this process almost a year ago and am soooooooooo glad it's almost here. i first went to Dr. Cywes in jacksonville last june. my husband had to have open heart surgery in july so i had my next appoint ment in august. i ate my way through his surgery (stress eater) and gained ten pounds by the time i went back. my insurance requires a six month program so i started that. i was denied the first time and then asked for reconsideration. i finally had to have a peer review before they said ok. my bmi was over 50 and i have a few comorbidities. i've lost a littel over 30 lbs since last august. i can't wait. i'm taking two weeks off from work. i haven't written much in this forum but i have been reading it for months now and have learned alot from all of you. thanks!
  8. i have been following my insurance company's doctor supervised weight loss program for over 6 months now. last tuesday, all the required papers were sent to the insurance company, and if all goes well i will be approved in the next 2 weeks. i have developed some asthma problem with a cough and am really worried that this will push everything back. i took antibiotics and am on breathing treatments etc. but nothing seems to be working. my doctor won't give me prednisone since it could elevate my glucose but i am getting desperate to get rid of this cough. after all these months of preparation i hate to be stopped now.
