  6. I am getting banded on the same day. Where are u? My doc does all his on Weds and wondering if you have the same doc. Don't be afraid of anesthesia. I am a nurse and work in Day Surgery. You will be so closely monitored during your proceedure you have more risk of driving to the faciltiy. I am afraid of the not eating part of things. It will be a big change in behavior. Good Luck.. oh yea, you won't know anything about the catheter and not all docs place them.
  7. Thanks Mary. I am Bev. I live outside of Raleigh. My date is the 20th. I am scared but know I am doing the right thing. Maybe you can help me w/ some of my fears since you have already been thru it. What did you drink for the clear liquid diet? What about the choking thing?
  8. I have had 2 shoulder surgeries myself.. I knonw it is the best thing for me.. but I have never had any elective surgery.. I am also scared of food getting stuck and what to eat.. I know I will get over it. I am being a baby at 54 y/o.
  9. Went to the store to stock up on something to drink post op.. scheduled for the 20th... I know I will be on clears for 1-2 weeks.. Any suggestions?
  10. Oh good.. I am from NC also
  11. Hey Pete... also from NC. I am scheduled for Jan 20.. scared to death. What area are you from?
  12. I My date is the 20th also.. I am 3 yrs older than you. I am scared out of my mind... I keep having nightmares. Crazy I know. I am not on a pre op liquid diet what about you.
  13. I have a latex allergy and am going ahead w/ the surgery. Be sure to tell your doc and the hospital so that everything will be latex free. I doubt the band is latex but some of the equipment like gloves need to be changed for your surgery. Latex is on ballons and underwear. Do you have any problems blowing baloons or wearing underwear around the bands? Hope that helps. I doubt your watch has latex but may be leather or it could be a nickle allergy.
  14. Angie I am going to have mine on the 20th.. I am a little scared, but I know it is the right thing.
