  1. You can do it! You are experiencing some of the terrible gas pains that i had and unfortunately mine lasted 7 days. Walking, rocking, and the heating pad helped me the most. At times, i had my husband pat me on the back like you would a baby. It helped also. I am five weeks out from surgery and doing great. I haven't had a fill and i am having to use a lot of will power to eat all the Christmas goodies in the house. Give yourself a week and you should be over the hump and feeling a lot better! GOod luck!!!!

  2. Congrats!!! Yes, best decision ever! Of course i have only been banded for 3 weeks and 3 days so i don't have a lot to tell you. However, i can tell you that you MUST follow your doc's orders. Also, when you arrive home from the hospital, start walking!!!! It will help with the gas! That was not so fun but.....worth it! I have lost 17 pounds! Almost a pound a day. Best of all i have lost the desire to chow down on sweets!!! Best of luck to you!

  3. 16 pounds! Woo Hoo! 61 to go! It has been 3 weeks 3 days. I feel great. I have already had to learn the hard way on what i can and can't eat! No toast with peanut butter. I think it got stuck a little and i was miserable for 1 day! Hard lesson learned. I think the hardest lesson i have to learn is not to drink when i eat. Now that i know i shouldn't drink when i eat, i want it all the more. It is torture. I really have to get preoccupied so i won't think about it! I have already moved some of my "too big" clothes to the give away box!

WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! Can't wait to get in to some of my clothes from a while back. Then soon i hope to say goodbye to those as well.

    Merry Christmas to ME!!!!!!;)

  4. Oh honey you will know when the gas pains hit. For me it was pretty severe. It was basically in my chest and upper back. It took about 8 days post op for it to completely go away. There were days it brought me to my knees! I am 3 weeks and 3 days post op and feel wonderful. Make sure you do what the doc says. Keep walking and GOOD LUCK!

  5. Well, it has been 10 days since my banding. I have a turned a corner feel WONDERFUL except for this itching. I have tried hydrocortisone cream around my incisions and it has not helped on bit. Does anyone have any tips? I am wondering if i am having a reaction to the tape that they used. AAGGGHHH! I know i must be healing but the itching is about to drive me insane! :cursing:

  6. Congrats! In due time sweetie! You will be on your side sleeping in a few days. Move, move, move! The more you get around and move the quicker you will be sleeping better. I promise! Put a pillow close to your belly when lying on your side. It helped to put a little pressure there when i slept. I am only 11 days out from surgery so it is still fresh in my mind. Good luck.

  7. Tomorrow will be my one week banding anniversary!! Feeling better each day! I am really starting to feel actual hunger pains though! At this stage, does anyone have any suggestions on things to help with the hunger???

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I am thinking of just hibernating in the bedroom all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. It is 1 am central time and I am trying to birth these gas bubbles who have been plaquing me since my banding! Miserable! I know they will soon pass but this is one part of this process that I could have done without! I was banded on Nov 19th along with a friend of mine. We both were banded literally hours apart! What a great thing it is to be able to share this journey with a friend. I am excited for what lies ahead! I can't wait to see the new me in 6 months ! Wow! Now, time to rock those little gas bubbles to sleep! I hope! :cursing:
