  1. or preceding me.....or walking beside me........
  2. Never again will I go into my bathroom or closet to change clothes so my fiance can't see me.....even though we have lived together for 3 years. How ridiculous is that..... Never again will someone tell my daughter, "You like just like your mother, but small....." She is 21. Never again will I avoid posting my own picture.....because I will not be anxiety stricken to the point of needing to be tranquilized at the thought of someone taking a picture of me.
  3. You need to check your policy for requirements. You maytbe covered for lap band procedure, but they almost always have additional requirements. Example - I am with Cigna and it is covered if it is deemed medically necessary. I had to do a 6 month physician supervised diet, provide 2 years of medical records showing my weight, get psychiatric clearance, meet with a nutritionist and provide a letter of medical necessity from my primary care physician. Cigna did not tell me this when I initially called-they only advised procedure was covered under my plan. I found all of this info out by reading my policy and meeting with the patient advocate at my surgeons office.
  4. I didn't wait on someone to notify me. I called my insurance company daily and asked for the status of my paperwork that was submitted for lapband approval. My insurance company required a letter of medical necessity from my PCP before they would approve - something I was not advised of beforehand. I called Cigna daily and was finally advised on 11/22 that I was approved and provided an authorization #. To this date I have received nothing from Dr or surgery center advising they received notice of my approval. If I hadn't done this all myself, I would still be waiting. Call - take charge and ask questions - it's your right.
  5. Hello Everyone! I have my pre-op appt 12/10 and my surgery is scheduled for 12/16. I look forward to being able to see what others are experiencing and hopefully share some of my experiences as well. Good luck everyone!
