So you have had 3 fills now and are really restricted to your amount of food? I'm concerned because I've only had 1 fill and there are times when I can eat a lot! Well, what seems like a lot anyway. At least by what I've been told it seems like more than what I should be able to eat. But from what you experienced it wasn't until your third fill where you really noticed anything? I'm also thinking I might be eating too fast....I'm sure that could be part of it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Has anyone had their first fill and not noticed anything change? I saw the doctor on 1/6/10 and had just over 4ml filled and I haven't noticed a change with my eating habits. Still eating the same amount of food as before. Someone tell me they have noticed this too! What do I do now?

  6. Yes, I have to agree that I burp like crazy, all day long. Regardless if I have just eaten my meal or when I drink my Water. Before banding I would only burp if I was drinking a carbonated drink, now it doesn't matter. I mentioned this to my doctor and he said its caused by swalling air while you are drinking/eating. I was banded on 11/18/09 and just received my first fill on Wed., 1/6/10 All I can hope for is that I learn to eat slower and take smaller sips. I've been told that it will help.
  7. Hey there! You don't have anything to worry about. I started with a BMI of 52. and now am at 49.5 since my band day of 11/15/09. Just follow the liquid diet and what ever your doctor instructs you to do. I just had my first fill yesterday and am doing great. I will start the gym Saturday to bump things up a bit. I haven't had any issues eating anything and yes, I have cheated a bit. Some chocolate here and there, ice cream one night (half scoop though). I also eat a scrambled egg sooner than I was supposed to but you have to remember to chew everything really good. Don't stress over the diet and it will come naturally. Best of luck!
  8. Fantastic, YEAH YOU!!! I'm at 3 weeks and 5 days today myself. I too have lost, 17lbs as of Sunday. I'm telling you, I don't know why I didn't have this done 2 years ago when my doctor and I talked about it. This has been fairly easy for me. The toughest is finding foods to take away a craving. I'm already down a size in my work pants and will be grabbing my smaller jeans from the other closet real soon! When are you due for your first fill or have you already? I'm wondering what to expect once its been done.
  9. I'm doing fantastic and down 17lbs as of Sunday. I'm eating eggs, cheese, beans. As well as the usual beginning foods. I'm scheduled to get my first fill on the 6th of Jan. can anyone tell me what to expect once the doctor has done this?? I'm wondering how the eating is going to change. Can I still eat what I am now? Do I need to cut the portions more?

I myslef have found a chocolate protein shake with 30g and its great! It only comes in chocolate, can't think of the name right now but there is no chalky taste or gritty taste. Probably the closest thing to chocolate milk.

Today marks 3 weeks since I had my surgery. I've lost 15lbs and am feeling fantastic! I haven't experienced any problems with fluids and am moving to stage 3 now. I'll be watching for food/menu suggestions as I am looking forward to "real" food.

  14. Well I've been preparing for this since July of this year and tomorrow is Da Day! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I've been doing the liquid diet now for about a week, man is it tuff. I know that after the surgery it will be easier as you really won't have a choice. My hardest thing to cope with has been the cravings. Has anyone been struggeling with cravings? If so, what have you done to overcome them? I just try to get my mind off and do something else. Boy is it tuff sometimes. Last night all I wanted was some chicken. I could have just pulled it off the bone and went to town. Instead I grabed my protein shake and did what I could to take my mind off of the little bird. I'm really looking forward to the results by the end of the year!:w00t:
