    Infecting threads

I said in my first post I was looking into getting the band. Thanks for the link. It is much appreciated. I also have been reading everything on here related to the band for hours every night for the last few days. Brooklynn

Yeah, I'm bringing it up again

It was certainly meant to be a debate and not ugly. I have deleted it. Unfortunately with it having been quote it is to litle avail. My apologies.

    Infecting threads

As someone who is new and doesn't understand what "infecting threads" or "going off topic" means, wouldn't the kind thing have been for someone to PM me that this is not appropriate instead of attacking me. Yes, I am my Mom's daughter, but I am not my Mom. I don't even have a band yet. I may have intervened in the wrong place because of the fact that I run a forum that is about one subject and that is horseracing. There is no such thing as going "off topic". People that are kind take the time to explain this shouldn't be done. They just don't jump on you immediately and say you "infected a thread". It seems that is the kind of behavior that causes more problems then my posting wrong on a thread. I have indeed gone back and deleted the offending thread or off topic thread, but I feel this could have been handled differently. Thanks for your time.

What A Croc: Croc Hunter Killed!!

I guess I've just realized this is no place for me. I know all obese people aren't cruel but I've met my fair share of them on here. It's not very encouraging. I don't agree with the Tired Old Man...none of his posts. It is nothing but dribble and one-sided opinions and God help anyone that doesn't agree. Is this what obesity does to you people. If so perhaps you need to look at another reason for saying people treat obese people differently...maybe it isn't how you look but how you act. I didn't appreciate my mom being brought into this conversation by Susan. Her business is her business and yes it did hit a sour note I'm sorry to say and it was totally uncalled for. I wish you the best of luck. You seem like one of the nicer ones here. Best of luck to you.

What A Croc: Croc Hunter Killed!!

I'm going back to my horseracing forum where the subject is horses and nothing else. I don't have to deal with issues not related to horse racing. I don't need the drama here, and I don't intend to start a thread with anything in it, but thanks so much for your advice. I have read so much about obese people feeling they are picked on. I wonder why...with the attitututes I've seen on here you are not picked on for being obese. You are some of the meanest people I've ever encountered, and I'm not sure it has a thing to do with being obese. I don't feel sorry for any of you if you are treated badly. You surely have treated me badly, so why would I look to any of you for help. Fat must mean you are also a miserable person from what I've seen. I won't be polluted by it.

What A Croc: Croc Hunter Killed!!

The thread says ranting and raving. I simply let my feelings be known. There sure are a lot of people attracted to this part of the forum if they don't enjoy drama...point made. My post was not self-serving in any way, but merely questioning the choice of subject matter on here, and that is politics and religion. They are topics that should never be involved in a forum because they cause nothing but problems. My apologies for letting my feelings be known. I think I now realize how my mom felt on here. Women can be cruel for sure and the pack theory is ever so correct. This kind of stuff being allowed on a forum (rants and raves) is disgusting to say the least. It is obvious there is little to be learned about lap banding on here and it is all about creating drama and ill will. Back to my own forum where things are running smoothly and these categories are not allowed. good luck to you all.

What A Croc: Croc Hunter Killed!!

I simply am questioning a thread designated to fighting, ranting, and raving. If you don't mind I would appreciate you keeping my mom out of this. This was my statement and my statement alone. I simply want to know why this portion of a lap banding forum exists and for what reason. It is pretty apparent it is not for the reason intended. Sorry if you were offended, but you did make your way to this thread didn't you Susan? I'm merely questioning why this portion of the forum exists if the subject here is lap banding? I simply want an answer. It encourages people to come here to fight, rant and rave. It seems strange to me that any forum would encourage that, and then protest so loudly when it happens.

My Holiday Plan: Join me or not.

They now have little bags of cheetos in snack size bags with 100 calories. They are awesome. My mom gets hers at Walmart. They are called 100 calorie mini-bites and are made by Frito-Lay. I eat them myself and can't tell the difference.

Anyone else a fan of Big Brother?

I too hope Jannel wins. Those guys really are playing those two girls...Will is playing Jannel and Boogie is playing Erika and they are laughing all the time. I hope the girls see through them and boot those guys off of there. I hope one of the girls win. I sure don't want to see Will or Boogie win...they are both deceitful. Happy Watching.

Yeah, I'm bringing it up again

I think you said it well. My mom tells me Dawg has never, ever been negative about anything on this board and always seemed impartial (to whatever extent he could manage). He has as much right here as someone who is here to learn about lap banding. I don't have the band yet, but I'm here!! By the way my mom, Dody, wanted me to tell you hi and wishes you luck in your journey. Everyone should have someone representing them on the board for support if they can't be here for whatever reason...and yes most are suspended, that is known fact. There is no damage being done by being support for those that are banned. They made mistakes. They are human. Dawg did nothing. He has the right to be here like everyone else on this forum whether banded, unbanded, or looking at the band. It is after all a support forum. I am here to support my Mom's weight loss journey and keep her informed; Mr. 3 Loves is doing the same for his wife; why on earth should Dawg's experience be any different. The people banned still need the help provided from the forum however they can get it. They paid the ultimate price, so please be kind to those at least representing them or continuing their own journeys with or without the band. We are all God's children. Thanks for you time, Brooklynn

    DeLarla vs. PhotoNut

This really doesn't seem like this reply or question should be on this particular part of the forum, but may I share with you my mom's journey with the band. She was 64 years old getting it in July of this year. She had open heart surgery 5 years ago; sleep apnea; severe rheumatoid arthritis; and other health problems. One week before banding she had knee surgery. She is a new person since getting banded. She has lost 30 lbs. and is feeling younger. Her arthritis is much better and she has more energy. She had zero complications, although I truly was expecting some. She had no port pain except for a few days after surgery, and never any gas pains at all. She has amazed me, and that is why I am looking into getting the band myself. She has set the bar high for me. I will want to go to Vandy and have the procedure done by her dr. because he has done such a wonderful job with my mom. Please go through with your surgery. I bet you will be one happy camper when it is over with. I'm enjoying this journey with my mom, and inheriting some great clothes in the process (my mom get'sall her clothes from QVC and they are awesome). I'm a bit ashamed to admit that she is passing down bigger sizes to me. It has definitely made me reflect on the fact that I need to make some major changes in my life also, and that the band just be the answer I'm looking for. I hope to see you posting in a Happier forum about your banding. For now best of luck to you. Brooklynn

    Forum Hack?

Do you have firewalls. This is surefire protection that this won't happen to you. One of the best is Zone Alarm. It can be downloaded on line.,I believe you get 30 days free or bought at Staples or Best Buy. I wouldn't be without it. I never saw this thread on my computer at all.
