  1. Yes, mine went from 8 1/2 w to 7 1/2 m. I haven't wore 7 1/2 in many years. I 1st noticed last Oct. I was going to my father's funeral, and the shoes I brought kept going clicking on the floor because they were way to big. I had to run to Walmart,(very small town), to get something to wear. I 1st tried 8's then 7 1/2. I am quite comfortable in them. May have to try 7's this year though. Good luck on your weight loss and shoe size! Karen
  2. Wow! Congrats to you. I haven't tried 11's yet, did wear 13's. I don't like the odd sizes tho' they run short waisted or rather jeans are all hip huggers. Yuck! But good for you! Karen
  3. Hi Kristi, I, also, go to Florida Obesity Surgical Associates in Zephyrhills.Love the office, a lot of the staff, including Dr Grossbard, have had the surgery. Hope that you enjoy your journey as much as I have. My husband is a scaredy cat too! However, scared as he is, he is supportive of me. I just wish that I could get him to do it. HIsd famliy have had some problems being put on full life support, so he has his reasons! Good luck to you all. Karen
  4. It sounds to me as if you are too tight. If you are still having a problem, I would get 1/2 cc removed. My office doesn't charge me if I have it done within a week. You should, also, try stay on clear liquids for a day or 2. My surgeon wants clear for 2 days, then full for 2 days. No mushies or food until 5 day. Hope that helps. Good luck Karen
  5. Port is above your waist under your breast. Mine only pops out when I am in the pool. Not sure what to tell you, if you are young and want to wear a bikini. I have a private pool in my backyard. Everyone in my pool knows about my lapband.Good luck
  6. I have an 11cc realize band. I had 3 the 1st fill and then the next was 2. I have never gone above 5 cc in my band. I am now at 2.5. I have had a slip and had to have fill removed 2x. If you are too tight, you can't eat and might have a lot of burping, pb'ing and coughing, which can cause a slip. God luck. Karen
  7. As I was reading this, that is exactly how I feel. Not just pain in my chest, but feeling that I can't breath, too! I, however, once I start burping. know that the next thing is that I will have to pb. Usually after I pb, I feel much better.
  8. Strange, I can feel the port, and sometimes it is very noticeable, especially in the swimming pool. But, I can't feel the band!
  9. Congrats to you all who have made the decision to get the band. It works if you remember that this is a tool for loosing weight. Good luck to all and have a great surgery. Karen
  10. You can lose the weight, again. You have a great husband to support you, who has been through the weight loss and the other loss with you. You, also, have the support of your co-workers. I have noticed all the nurses at my surgeon's office have been banded, too. Go for it! Good luck. Karen
  11. Wow! That's nice. I didn't have any closets to shop in; I had moved in 2006 and cleaned out my closets. I shopped in my daughter's closet, tho'. Goodluck. Karen
  12. It sounds like you are too tight, now! You should be able to drink Clear Liquids and then after 2 days full liquids. At least that is what my surgeon prescribes. After that you shoul dbe able to eat. I would call your surgeon and get a slight unfill. Karen
  13. Nothing that I am aware of. I am 18 months post op. I have been going to my surgeon regularly. I think he just does follow ups in his office. He has a machine to do barium swallows and other stuff right there. Karen
  14. Agreed, I am, from what others tell me, looking good. I still feel fat but not the fat I was. I know that I have an overhang in the front due to hysterectomy and loosing stomach muscle many years ago. Many people have tummy tucks, I choose not too. I can hide my tummy with clothes, but see it when I am nude. You will get past the feeling of being the "fatgirl". That was my motivator. I was tired of being the "fat lady" in the choir in my new church. Best of luck. Karen
  15. Your band should not empty. If it does, there is a leak. Mine always has in it what the surgeon put there. He removes all and then puts it back in. He verifies what is in there when he fills me. You are going very quickly to a full band. I only have 2.5 in my band right now. The most I have had is 5 in a 11 cc band. Be careful to not have a slippage problem..Good luck. Karen
  16. Be careful, sounds like reflux from a slip for you. Been there, done that. The others I am not sure what to say, except, check with your surgeons. Karen
  17. You are doing great! 45 lbs in 3 months is magnificent. I never lost that good. Keep up and you will loose. Maybe vary your calories, and exercise some. Drink lots of water, too! Karen
  18. Hi Christie, I am Karen. I am going to be 64 in July. I live in Florida. I am retired. I am, also, active in my church. I have 2 grandkids that live next door. My whole family, 2 kids, live on the same block. It can be exciting, but sometimes, the excitement, I don't need. I am 18 months in, so ask questions or advise, as needed. My new "addiction", to replace food, is shopping for a new wardrobe. Yipes! Food I can afford better than clothes, but clothes is more fun! Best of luck on your journey. Karen
  19. HI, and welcome. I am 18 months in, and feeling wonderful. I am at goal, and doing maintenance. It is, sometimes, harder than loosing. Best of luck to you! KAren
  20. Once I got a fill, my port was round like a ping pong ball, too! Mine, also, sticks out when I am in the swimming pool. Its kinda funny.
  21. Hurray! And happy Bandiversary. You did it, and you are an inspiration to all! Karen
  22. I have no regrets. It has been 18 months since my surgery. The pain from gas was a surprise. I walked to relieve it. Also, took Gas-x strips(the kind that melt in your mouth). I am retired, but resumed normal activities, other than heavy work, after about 2 weeks. Good luck to you. It was the best decision I have made in a long time. Karen
  23. Just wanted to add a good luck ,and take care, the pain does go away. Follow what the others have said. Be gentle with yourself, you just had major surgery. Good luck to all you newbies. Karen.
  24. My very first case of sliming, and pb'ing was from pizza. I didn't even have a fill by then. be very careful. Some folks can eat pizza. Others can't. Good luck to you. Karen
  25. Aww! Great NSV. I know that you must have had a secret smile all day long. Good for you. Karen
