I was banded 3/28/11, I am still in the healing process and have no restriction and I no saline in my band, I am getting my first fill 4/12/11. I notice at times I cough, it feels like I have a tickle in my throat that doesn't go away quickly. It doesn't surround eating/drinking. I have never had acid reflux but these episodes don't have any reflux symptoms. The coughing has happened at night! I am afraid I have coughed so hard I have hurt my band (I am still in pain).

Just want to see if this is normal.

I was banded 4 years ago and have that same problem. When I go to bed, exactly 1/2 hour later I get this awful tickle in my throat that won't go away until I get up and "get rid" of any mucas or lingering food. Then I am able to go back to sleep without any problem. I have pain sometimes too, depending on how hard I cough. I talked to my doctor and he either has never heard of it or didn't seem to care. Just told me not to eat close to bed time. However, that's never been a problem - I don't eat close to bedtime. So the long and short of it is that I don't know what to tell you - but you're not alone.

I have the "coughing" also --- especially at night time.

It has become more and more frequent - and now I have it during the day at times too.

It is starting to hurt my throat and my chest area -

I am going to make an appt with the surgeon -- but a little afraid that she will take some Fluid out of the band.

Be careful, sounds like reflux from a slip for you. Been there, done that. The others I am not sure what to say, except, check with your surgeons. Karen

Hi I just was banded a week ago, and I just came up with the same cough. I am a massage therapist, and I cannot be caughing in the room. I am still in alot of pain also.
