I'm very excited for all of you to be banded this week! I will be thinking of all of you!

Hi Roro, I feel pressure and tightness when I sit and lay as well. Keeping my torso stretched is the most comfortable. Standing and walking are good, if only I wasn't so pooped! I had a tiny bit of brothy soup last night, but other than that and a little lite apple juice and isopure yesterday, I haven't eaten food since Wednesday. I don't have a whole lot of energy. And I'm not hungry either (still swollen, I guess). I just can't wait to be healed. The surgery itself was no big deal - it's the recovery that's hard. If you're uncomfortbale to the point that you can't bear it, you should call your doctor. All my best to you... K

Hi Terri, There's a lot of pressure, yes. It feels like someone's pushing on my front AND back. I keep taking deep breaths in now that it's a little more comfortable to breathe deeply - its still not easy to breathe. I can drink fluids - in small sips. I've had water, crystal lite and decaf coffee. Mmm loving the warm coffee. I'm up and dressed and pulling-out Christmas decorations. But I am starting to feel a little nauseous (burping and such...? Today's supposed to be a difficult day but it's okay so far. I keep reminding myself that I was in surgery yesterday. Hang in there - it gets better, Karyn

Hi everyone!... I'm back and I'm BANDED! My appt. was at noon (pst) yesterday and I was back home by around 5 pm. Everything went fine and everyone at the srgi-center was great. It felt like I was surrounded by family. I woke-up from surgery feeling pressure in the soloplex area and I didn't feel like I could inhale deeply (which is normal, I guess). This morning, I'm a little sore at the incision sites, but that's about it. The doctor said today might be a little rougher cause all the good medicine will be out of my system. Anyway, I just wanted to check-in with you and let you know that it went well. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Terri. I definitely don't want THAT! I guess I'll wear a headband - I have a lot of hair. No make-up or jewelry either, according to my instructions sheet. Well, I won't be feeling very attractive walking-in that's for sure! Good thing it doesn't matter. It's how I feel the walking-out (and every day after) that counts. I'll post here or to my blog as soon as I can tomorrow. Feeling the love. :w00t:

Congratulations ganda and yosemite! I'm so happy to hear that your surgeries were "no problem" and that you're both home recovering in good spirits! That's wonderful! And it sure makes my prospects for tomorrrow look pretty good. Fingers crossed.

Thank you so much! I guess I'm up! Wow, did that time fly by, or what?! By this time tomorrow I should be dressed, prepped and ready for surgery at noon (pst). I greatly appreciate the well wishes and prayers. Knowing you're all out there really helps. *Thinking of kslessar who is, I believe, the first 12/4 bandster in surgery... in just a few hours from now. Isn't this exciting?!

I'm in such a good mood today! I'm feeling like HappyMe's avatar (but I settled for this one)! I'm sure the nerves will come back when I leave for the surgi-center (Friday am), but for now, I'm good. God bless. Sooo.. I had my last pre-op appointment a few hours ago. Everything's great - all lights are green! I even have blue pen marks on my stomach from where my doctor made little lines to show me where and how big the incisions will be. I chose the Allergan Lap Band (over Realize) - for no good reason. I'm sure they're equally as good and work equally as well. They told me many things I was expecting to hear - wear comfy clothes... no underwire... don't eat or drink anything after midnight (12/3). And two things I wasn't - no showering/bathing for 7 - 10 days (eww!... I can spongebath though) and absolutely no Jello after surgery. I hadn't heard that before. I meant to ask why but forgot... My overall feeling was that they have done SO many of these and are SO good at this, that it would be nearly impossible for theings not to go well. Being there just really put my nerves at ease, kind of like hearing back from the newly banded. Speaking of... terriamn!... so glad to hear that you're home and that it went well! Way to go! :sad: Hmm... Is it time for an updated list?!

Hey... look who poked her head in! Congratulations! I'm glad to hear it went so well! That's really comforting to hear right about now. "Wonderful" and "delightful"? Hmm... is somebody still on pain meds?! :tongue2: *hi harleyhottie - they usually send you home with a script for pain meds (or give you one prior so you can fill it ahead of time). Some of us will be in and out same day; others will stay over night - it varies.

So excited for you!.... It's gonna go great - don't worry! We'll be thinking about you and all the December 2nd Bandsters. :tongue2:

It's official! Except for weekends and holidays (Christmas Day and New Years Eve), at least one of us December Bandsters is being banded every day this month - right up until 2010! There's a lot of nerves and excitement on this thread! Our thoughts are with Electrawoman today. Welcome! You're among your peeps - we're all nervous and excited here! 16th? Did you say December 16th?! I think we just covered the month.

I surely HOPE I'm keeping-up with everyone's dates! I can't help feeling like I've missed someone. We're at 111 December Bandsters now (by my count)... And starting tomorrow, we roll! I think I'll write the names of everyone getting banded on a particular day on a post it and then stick it next to my monitor. That way, I can see it throughot the day - to say a little prayer and send positive thoughts. I also hope that everyone comes back here for moral support and to let everyone else know what their experience was, how they feel, etc. I think that'll be helpful (and comforting). My husband is a big time worrier, so I'm trying to be nonchalant about this 'no big deal' 'procedure' (around the house)... But YES, I am VERY excited!!!... and nervous. Just last night, I was watching a show (The Locator - I cry every time) and the guy said, "everyone gets nervous when their life's about to change" and I thought, "yep, 'aint that the truth!" Stay in touch and let us know the outcome of your situation!

Just checking-in...wow... a tie! I just told my husband and he suggested the name "Christmas Lites" (lol!) I told him it was too late for new suggestions. So what to do? Have one as a name (December Delights or De-lites) and the other as a motto???
