  1. Hi guys! I was banded on November 19th and since then I've been having nothing but issues. I think if it was just pain from the sites I would be okay, but it feels a bit more internal than that. I feel tight on the inside (I don't believe there was a fill during surgery, but I will ask tomorrow) and I'm starving yet I can't seem to eat anything as I'm nauseus. I thought I would be able to do the full liquids but the idea of soup has me leaning over my vomit container. I haven't actually threw up but I have to stop periodically and stand really still and I have this sensation of something "passing" even though I haven't recently eaten anything or I may have just stood up. I am also having back pains. Is this all still related to gas? I went through nothing similar to this when I had my gallbladder removed so I have no idea what I should be doing...any help would be nice!

  3. I also had the barium study. It was really hard for me to not have anything to eat til then! LOL I had mine the day after my surgery. They had to give me these oral swabs to help moisten my mouth and throat. Now 3 days post-op I think I'm healing well, but then again I still have back pain and stomach pain and I'm super hungry. I thought I would be able to do the soups, but low and behold the thought of soup makes me nauseous! I'm starting to get a headache too (no doubt from not eating) and that's not good!
  4. I am having some similar issues, we'll get through it!! At least you got some anti nausea meds! I only have pain killers, I hope you start to feel better!
  5. @Melloways - Thank you for the encouraging words. I also understand what you mean about the sharp pains, with me I think it's still gas pains as it'll go away after a few seconds of resting. I also still have a hard time taking deep breathes, when I do I feel the pain in my back and my chest. I'm trying to keep this going as I know I'm not the only one who's going through this or has gone through this, but it really is tough. Soup just has never really been appetizing to me, so I feel like I'm still hungry because the only thing I really will eat is the Protein shakes. ugh... But we'll get there! I find myself coming to the site for support more now that I"ve had my surgery than before. My husband is wonderful, he took 2 weeks off of work to stay home and help me, but he can't help with all my questions, and that's what you guys are for!!
  6. Hi everyone! I was banded on the 19th and am feeling SUPER gassy. I'm still having to take pain meds because of it. My lower back hurts and I keep getting these nauseating pains. Anyone else having troubles eating? I can't tell if I'm still hungry or if it's a full pain, because I'm always in some sort of pain!! LOL Trying to get in enough fluids is really hard with the nausea. I was told I was gonna be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, but I honestly don't know if I can! I am NOT much of a soup person...I'd be happy with a little bit of canned fruit or mashed potatoes right about now...
  7. Hi all!! I will be getting banded next week on the 19th. I'm really excited and still a little scared that I might be making a bad decision by getting surgery in the first place, but I'm chalking up to just making such a BIG decision! I want my life back so bad and I want to be a healthier person for my family!! How is everyone doing? Those recently banded and those still waiting like me?
  8. Hello all! I'm going to get banded on 11/19 and I'm super excited! Just curious how everyone has been doing pre and post op.
