    Any GOOD fish recipes?

I've been preparing a simple salmon. Salt and pepper, and I actually fry it in light olive oil, not alot, for about 2-4 min on each side. Then I make some high protein spaghetti noodles, mix it with a little olive oil, parsley, pepper, capers, lemon juice. I then take some spinach leaves and place it on the plate, followed, by the noodles and fish. My husband loves it!

    Wii Fit Plus

I've been using the Wii Active since Christmas and I love it! It's helped me lose more weight then I probably would have working out on my own! The resistance training is good for getting yourself pumped up for real weights I think, which I know I'll need to help get rid of these flabby arms! >_> And you can start working out on easy, which is like 10-15 min, and then progress to medium, or hard. I'm loving it!

November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)

I know how you feel Season! I was supposed to go for my first fill today, but they had to cancel because my Dr will be out of town. So, next Wednesday it is! I'm so nervous!! I have no fluid in my band so we'll see how much he puts in. Lately I've been feeling, especially after dinner, that I've swallowed a smoldering piece of charcoal, is that heartburn? My chest just hurts...and is that normal for the band? I've never had heartburn before so I have no idea if this is it and if I'm getting it because of the band..help?

I gained about 4lbs and then now I've lost those same 4. Still sitting at 17lbs lost. I think my problem is that I'm not quite staying on mushies. I'm still eating healthy, but I can only eat so much mashed potatoes... Oh and my husband wasn't so sure about the surgery either, but, after talking about it with him he came around and decided it would be a good tool to help me.

I haven't really heard anything except about the empty calorie thing. I can't imagine a drink or two on Christmas Eve ruining everything though.

I have seriously noticed a lack of energy. About 6 o'clock everyday I find myself nodding off and I'm so tired throughout the day as well. -sigh- Maybe I need to work out more to help build up that energy. @Socalchic - My husband likes me a little thick as well, but he'd much prefer me to be happy. He hates seeing me looking at clothes in the mall and then get depressed because I know they don't carry my size. He's been a big support for me during this whole process

    OK, ok.....ENOUGH!!!

Funny thing, I just told myself the same thing this morning! Time to step it up and do this to the fullest! We're all here for support!

Well, lol, I haven't been blending anything. I've just been eating! Still pretty healthy, but probably a few things I shouldn't and probably more than I should. I did okay the first day on mushies, it was the next day that mushies just kinda went with the wind. But I'm back on it and starting to see the scale move in the right direction again!

I've been cheating a little on the mushie stage and the scale sure is showing it!! I'm up 3lbs...-sigh- time to really get back on the healthier mushie stage...

I think everyone goes through a phase where we felt like this was all a mistake. Til we step on the scale or we get that blood pressure number back. I felt it had all been a mistake pretty much up til my post op appt. I stepped on the scale and realized I've lost a total of 17lbs since the start of this whole process. That was worth it to me. I was in size 24 jeans and now I can wear a 22. Of course it's snug, but I can get in them! :wink2:

The Dr warned me that once I started my mushy stage I might slow down or stall all together b/c there is no restriction. I got on the 16th for my first fill and I'm excited and a little scared. My mother in law suggested that I do the liquid diet for a day or two following the fill b/c she's found that she doesn't do so good trying to eat after hers. One thing, I try and not calorie count everything. If I do that, I'll become totally obsessed and not live my life but be consumed with weight loss. So I go for healthy choices looking at the facts and just be. One thing I am obsessed with and trying to get over it is the scale >_<

I consider that I am pretty lucky since I have no port pain and am able to sleep on my stomach. But it does seem like this is a common problem. Did you get the Realize band or the Lap Band?

Try and not to get so down, I was there too. I was super depressed and sad. I thought I'd made a big horrible mistake. But that feeling is gone now that I'm on to mushies and realizing I can still eat those things, it will just be in smaller portions and not all that time. Just try and remind your self that this soft food diet is only temporary. And why not try reading a book? I found that when my husband was deployed and my thoughts would start to get the best of me, I'd run tot he book store and get stuck in someone elses life, lol. It really helped

I did. I was not at all into the clear liquids w/ protein shakes. I was getting headaches and the soups were just making me really nauseous. So I called my Dr about it, as i was terrified of getting a migraine (long story as to why it would be a horrible thing if I did get on) and they told me to go ahead and try some egg and maybe some crackers.

    reality check after banding

I'm glad that you've realized that! It's a step in the right direction!! And...I'm glad that you've helped me realize that. I may not eat much, but I always ate poorly. I too would ask friends to meet me for lunch or a drink or something. Maybe now I'll start asking them to meet me at the track for a walk

Just wanted to check in with you all. I've been feeling a bit better about my choice of lap band and it gets better everyday. I did cheat a little on Thanksgiving, but I'm right back on the liquid bandwagon. It is definitely a struggle everyday, but I'm doing it. So far all my cuts have stopped hurting except for the biggest. I would kill to be able to sleep on my stomach right now! lol I go see the Dr on the 2nd to be upgraded to mushies. Hope all is well then. I don't think I get my first fill until 6 weeks. Well, think I may go for a walk in a few

    something isn't right....

How often are you working out? If your Dr. doesn't want you to lose more but maintain, working out everyday is just gonna be bad. Try working out 3 days a week for only 30min to an hour. If you feel the need to still exercise on the other days try something simple like yoga. Good stretching can feel just as good  I know I alternated a bit like that. Mon - Yoga Tues - Treadmil (walking at about 3mph) Wed - Treadmil for about 20 min then do some weight training Thurs - Kickboxing class Friday - treadmil (walking at about 3mph) And the weeks I was too busy I would just go to yoga, then treadmil on Tues and then my kickboxing class. Helped me to feel like I was still getting it in there.

I think I'm just scared that this is how it's gonna always be (Even though I do know it won't). I've always been very analytical in my choices and sometimes forget to throw my feelings and emotion into it and I guess I was worried that this was one of those times and it's all a big mistake. I've lost 13lbs already in the entire procoess and am very happy about that. Yes they did give me a book and I've read through all the material they've given me. But not so much I can do about nausea or anything. The Dr. doesn't want me taking any nausea meds or gas meds so I'm kinda stuck on that point.
  20. Hi guys! I was banded on November 19th and since then I've been having nothing but issues. I think if it was just pain from the sites I would be okay, but it feels a bit more internal than that. I feel tight on the inside (I don't believe there was a fill during surgery, but I will ask tomorrow) and I'm starving yet I can't seem to eat anything as I'm nauseus. I thought I would be able to do the full liquids but the idea of soup has me leaning over my vomit container. I haven't actually threw up but I have to stop periodically and stand really still and I have this sensation of something "passing" even though I haven't recently eaten anything or I may have just stood up. I am also having back pains. Is this all still related to gas? I went through nothing similar to this when I had my gallbladder removed so I have no idea what I should be doing...any help would be nice!

Not sure this is all normal...

I really hope so...I found myself cheating today. I ate a taco. Just one, it was all I could really eat, and yet I still feel hungry. I'm sure you all can relate to that. The banded part feels full, but the other part is still super hungry. -sigh- I'm still feeling the same today I pray to God this feeling passes...

Not sure this is all normal...

Well Manda, now I am thinking, "What the hell did I do?" I don't think I have the willpower I originally thought I had. -sigh- I'm still trying, but now I don't have the sort of euphoric feel I had in the beginning.

I think I've come here looking for some encouragin words as well. I was doing okay most of the day then after a nice long walk through the mall I feel sore and in pain. My Dr told me this morning that I could have a little egg and maybe some crackers to help with my hunger, and it did at first. Now I can't really stop crying thinking, " What the hell did I just do to myself?" I honestly had no clue it was gonna be this hard. I'm starting to feel like, I'll never be able to enjoy dinner time or a nice lunch with my family...

Not sure this is all normal...

Thank you, I just wanted to make sure that I really was going through something that others have and this is nothing for me to really stress about! I'm feeling much better this morning and for the first time in days I'm starting to feel like I could make it through til mushies. Only real concern now is that the idea of soup still makes me nauseous lol

Not sure this is all normal...

I am with you K-Rod, I can't wait tio feel normal!! Just last night I was telling my husband, "What the hell did I just do? Is this how I'm gonna feel the rest of the time?" It doesn't help the the nurses at my clinic came to see me in the hospital the day after my surgery and they looked at me a bit odd. I asked them what was wrong, and they told me that post patients are up and showered and walking around and yet there I was in still in bed, on morphine and O2 (it was early in the morning and that stupid machine would start beeping every time I dozed off to sleep so the they gave me O2 so I could actually get some sleep lol) and looking pained. They made me feel like an anomoly! I really am starting to wonder if I got a fill during surgery... Oh and in the hospital I was on morhpine about every 2 hours...>_< They nurse would just show up and give it to me...Maybe I'm going through withdrawals lol I will definitely talk to my Dr about the gas-x and see if that helps, and I've been trying to walk. Tomorrow we're gonna take a planned walk around the mall, lets see if that really helps!
