  1. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary marmotsgrl!

  2. Im sore. I just had the port replaced yesterday. I am doing well so far! Yay

  3. I have not had the port replaced yet. I am supposed to go back to the surgeon next Wednesday. I also miss having the restriction. I am not sure what to do. I want to continue what I started with loosing weight, but I am afraid it will happen again. Also I haven't been feeling too good lately. Something just doesn't feel right on my stomach. Maybe it is just gas. :frown: I just don't know. Part of me says "get it out! your body doesn't want it in there" another part of me says " you need to loose weight look how well it worked just try it one more time" all I know is that I want to feel good again and I am not sure that the band is the answer. Thank you so much for updating me on how you are doing.

    port abscess anyone?

I am not sure I even want the band anymore. After the crap that has happened so far. I must have been tired when I wrote that post.
  5. Hi I am trying to find out if anyone else has had a port infection, had the port removed, and then had it replaced. I am trying to decide it it is worth getting it replaced. I would like to hear your story
  6. I have heard of it. I recently had a port site infection. It was an abscessed infection. I had been pulling weeds in the yard and I thought I was just sore because my abdomen kept hitting my upper thigh. But then I noticed I was getting really sore at the sight and I had a slight fever and I was so tired, So I made an appt. to see the surgeon and he immediately made me go the ER to get a CT of the abdomen. My surgeon showed up in the ER to see me he used a needle and syringe and drew out some brown fluid. It was yucky. He had me get an endoscopy to see if the band had erroded into the stomach. It didn't. I had the port removed and now deciding on if I should get it replaced or not. How are you doing now? I hope you are ok.
  7. Hopefully you aren't having this problem....I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder at about a month after surgery. One day it was so bad that I went home to bed and I finally went to the ER. I ended up getting the tube from the band to the port shortened because the tube was rubbing on my diaphragm causing "reffered" pain in my shoulder. So I would say if it doesn't go away and it is really painful you should bug your surgeon about it.
  8. give it the full 6 weeks I know it sucks but that really does seem to be the magic number. Hope you feel better. :smile2:

  12. Hi Ariel! I just wanted to drop by and see how you are doing. I am almost there! I am just waiting for the insurance to authorize the surgery. (I hate this part) Hope you are doing GREAT!

Life is funny and I am too

Well I am a little embarrassed to say this but I didn't realize that my first blog entry in December was public. I guess I was thinking that I would look at it again later and then publish or something. I am glad that it did end up that way because I need to read your comments. Thank you very much. I know now that I will be alble to eat like a normal person. I know that I will still be able to use the Kitchen Aid mixer. I think that my biggest worry now is waiting for my health insurance to say yes or no on covering the procedure. [/font
