  1. good luck too you. get as much information from you nutritionist as possible... ask question even if you thing they are crazy.... ask. I did just post some information that my doctor and nutritionist gave me 3 years ago. I had a few people ask me for it because their nutritionist didn't give them anything... Some good guidelines to go by. life is great
  2. Ok, so I just copied the nutritional guidelines that were given to me before i had my surgery 3 years ago. Please do not take this as the "gospel". This is only what my doctor and Nutritionist gave me. I have had a few people ask, so i'm posting. There is some pretty good advice. Happy losing
  3. I fought with my doctor about what he charged his OOP patients. He was charging i think $250. Did my research by calling other LB doctors in a 100 mile radius and asked what they charged and the average was $150. So i went back to my doctor, plead my case and ..... I won!! Now all the self pay only pay $150. Thanks to me.... lol
  4. Mine said as soon as i felt comfortable with it.
  5. I am so glad i had the nutritionist i had... she and i set for HOURSSSS going over everything. Plastic food and all... portion size, etc.. I have my binder, i think i will make a copy and post it for everyone... it may help someone out there
  6. no straw here too... dr. says.... NO straws and No gum
  7. I could always eat after a fill
  8. when and where did you have your surgery? Did you get banded? BP? Sleeve? You just joined this forum in January, never completed your profile. Care to tell us why you would not? What was your experience like that made you make that statement?
  9. sounds right considering you only have one fill. What size band? how much do you have in? the first few month you will be able to eat more and more different items. When i started i could still eat bread, rice, Pasta... with no problem. But as you put more and more fill in you will learn what you can tolerate and what you can't. It's all a learning process... My advice to you is to start now pre measuring your portions. You will still be hungry, but this is when you eat healthy Snacks.... i ate cheese, yogurt, hummus, re-fried Beans, ... sipped on a healthy shake. Start now practicing how you eat. Cut you food in small sizes (no bigger than the size of the nail on your pinky finger) chewing till it is almost puree in your mouth. Take a bit, put the fork/spoon down... think about what your eating with no distractions like TV, a book, talking... You have to pay attention or you will forget and chew, swallow... stuck. It will happen. Remember, no drink on the table... not even Water. Get use to saying NO thanks. When eating out, ask the waitress/waiter to bring a box when the meal is brought to the table. Don't take a bite till you pack all but your portioned sizes. then hand the box over to someone else so your not tempted to go back in. Stay away from the BUFFETT...!!! If you do go, ask to order off the menu. When you can ask for half or kids size meals. Pre planing is the key. Know what your going to eat in the day. This will help you not make impulsive choices... I am an impulsive eater... i still am. But i have come to terms with my weight loss and my body and i'm in a good place. Wish you all the luck and keep thinking positive and help your band... help you... and above all.. Listen to your doctor.
  10. Not really sure, but when i eat Mexican food i normally get, refried beans or quac. to eat with corn chips, and one beef or cheese enchilada. Thats it... no rice, no flour tart, no steak fajitas..... and i have one small margarita
  11. what did she say when you told here that?
  12. thank God for seafood.... like B, i don't eat too much red meat anymore. I can manage to eat ground beef, but steak is hard. I live in Louisiana so seafood is a must. I eat crab, crab patties, fish, crawfish.... No Flour tortillas for me... but i can eat corn ones. Re-fried bean are great!! good source of Protein.
  13. So last night my husband cooked Grilled chicken and asparagus.... OMG can you say STUCK!!! What was i thinking.... Note to all: Do not eat asparagus.... too fibrous and will cause stick... Not pretty coming back up... lol
  14. i'm three years and three months out and i would do it in a Heartbeat... LB has had all positive and i have had no negatives... Gas pain... that's it. Do not expect changes to be instant. LB is a slow process for some, I was one of them. So don't think your going to wake up thin... Lots of people have the thought... I'm going to have his surgery and i won't have to work for the weight loss..... Yes you will, you will have to wake up every day and exercise... You will have to watch EVERY thing you put in your mouth.... Yes you will have to change the way you eat.... I wish you all the success in the world... good luck
  15. i know i done for next year... i'll have my very own "little helper"...lol We passed by the girls at the entrance of Walmart (Hell on earth as i like to call it)... and she said..... Oh Nana i can't wait till i can sell cookies... and i just thought... Thanks Karma Gods.. hehe How can you not eat them.. they are so damn good..... they call my name...Chrissss just one more won't hurt ya... next thing you know the whole box.. gone
  16. Oh... Missy.... i feel ya on the Samoas... they are so freaking good. I feel guilty about not buying... so when i get attacked at the stores outside.. I say no thanks, and give them a donation in stead.
  17. b... i want to join your group....lol I have not had any that i know of. banded three years and three months I do feel that since i had a complete unfill for my tummy tuck i have had a heard time with restriction. I feel it for about a week and then pretty much nothing. Before TT i had 10.5 in my 14cc band.... i'm back at 10.5, but no restriction like it was before.
  18. would have to start you off with the Community Med. Roast. Dark roast would be too much for you...lol
  19. ohhhh yes... Satins' little helpers.......lol.. Just kidding. My grand daughter is 5 and she has already told me that she is joining.... uggghhh. At least Cub scouts sells popcorn... low salt and no butter... Got suckered into that by my 7 y/o grand son....
  20. Beth.... down here we have Community Coffee... it's the best... ummmm None of that weak folgers crap for me.... hehe
  21. I will cut a person that tries to take away my coffee...... Just saying...lol In the south we are raised on Coffee from the time we can sip from a cup.... my grandpa use to sit me on his lap and we would drink coffee... well i would drink.. What we call here... Coffee milk... 1/4 coffee & 3/4 milk... Those are some of my best memories... i miss him everyday. And now when my grand kids come over.... they do the same thing... Shhhhh don't tell my son or daughter in law...lol
  22. this happened recently in my town: http://www.houmatoda...icles/130219783 I called my mom and grandma to let them know not to talk to anyone they don't know. Sad when you as the kid have to tell your parents and grandparents not to talk to strangers.....
  23. You know i have a Evil mind...... baaahhhhaaaaa (insert evil laugh) I would send something like.. He girl, what you doing... heard about your dead dad.. how's the money scam thing working out for ya... Just so you know, i will be posting this on my facebook account asking everyone to email you... hope they annoy the crap out of you... Hugs and kisses...
  24. Kris... i look at your before and after and think that you have done an amazing job. I'm go to tell you what i saw in your photo gallery.... Older pictures of you, you looked sad and underlay miserable. I can now see why this A$$ hole latched on too you. In the Healthier pictures... you look so happy and confident... stay this way... Sojourne has given you great advice. Sounds to me like you are feeling some guilt about losing weight. Guilt about the ex-cheating-bastard.... So what if he like big girls. He probably can't handle the new, beautiful, healthy, confident and strong woman you have become. He likes big girls because we have low self esteem and self worth and are easily controlled. This is why he moved on from you, you were in control you. But now You are letting him control you even though you are not with him anymore by sabotaging your weight loss... STOPPPP letting this happen... Please go see someone and don't give up and don't let others determine your self worth. You will find someone that will love the person you are and not care about your size.. big or small.
