Do post some things @Spinoza. When I started I used to crop my head off because I wanted to be anonymous. If no one knew me I couldn’t be embarrassed. I look back & chuckle. Given all the information we share & all the things we talk about a pxt is nothing.

We all used to post very regularly so it would be lovely to have more action on the thread again. it’s interesting to see how everyone embraces their new shape & new styles, & it’s great to see people become more confident. Plus all the different styles we’re drawn to.

I wore this to do my grocery shopping today. I ordered the skirt from an Australian designer I used to often buy from until their clothing became too big for me 😩. It’s a form fitted stretch skirt so I could get away with their smallest size. I was praying they would do it in red again to wear with this rather avant-garde top & yay they did. They asked for a pxt of the complete outfit hence me putting it on this morning & then I couldn’t be bothered to change again before getting the groceries. Ha! A woman at the checkout told me how much she loved the outfit so worth nit changing.

    Your turn @Spinoza.

Who else wants to go shopping in @Arabesque closet?? You have the best taste in clothes.

Going to a formal wedding in about three weeks & have been worrying about shoes. Sad I know. Wasn’t happy with what I thought I’d go with though gorgeous shoes. I’m wearing a bias cut 1930s influenced gown. At about 12:30 this morning I suddenly remembered I had the perfect shoe & had them for years. I’ll wear them with black micro fishnet hose.

My dress. Yes black but look a print. And I have opera length black leather gloves to wear as well.

    OOTD, hair edition.

Fist, sorry for monopolizing this thread lately. I/we are bored, outside and having some fun!

On the weekend me and the Kid got hair extensions for funsies. We both think they are waaaay too long and the Kid has already had hers shortened. My shortening appt is on Thurs, but after this afternoon i am stating to like the ridiculous length. I realized i really like it when im basically topless. the contrast between the hair colour and my skin is quite pleasing to me! (and Mr. lolololzzzz)

so i may just keep it this length if i can manage to go about my day without it getting caught somewhere at least 50% of the time. which is NOT easy.

i will say all this hair makes me feel super bad ass and sexy. so if any y'all want a quick pick-me-up in the confidence department, i would suggest some hair extensions to do the trick.

P.s. my actual, real hair stops just above the neckline of my bra...which btw, is my old breast-lift recovery bra (it's laundry day! 😂)

I'm loving the sexy long hair.......

The skirt is lovely @ms.sss especially for your recent sojourn to Portugal & for summer.

Hey @BayougirlMrsS. Lovely to see you here again. Are you still getting lots of surprise clothing gifts from your other half? What drew you to try golf?

    Welcome back @shanza & @bethow.

Thanks, glad to be back. Yes, Chicos was delivered last week. Nice pair of white pants and a festive shirt. A new golf shirt

golf started many years ago when I was married to x #2 ….. lol. He was a superintendent but would never teach me. Tim and I have enjoyed learning together. I’m doing really good. Scoring around 99 average. My handicap is 31.5.

    Hi everyone,

I had my Gastric Lap Band done 17 years ago.
I lost 60kilos over the first 2 years. I fluctuated between putting on 6 kilos and losing it again over the 17 years. ATM I am under my goal weight.
I’ve been quite ill for some months. Severe reflux, stomach pain, nausea, back pain, no appetite, night vomiting, (into my airway) night coughing and general feeling unwell.

I underwent an endoscopy yesterday, it was suggested my band has slipped? And the band is very tight. I have not had an adjustment or seen a surgeon about my banding in over 8 years.

Th Dr performing the Endoscopy is recommending my Dr refer me to to a Gatric banding specialist ASAP. His suggestion was, they may have to remove the band? I don’t see the Dr for a week, then there is the wait to see a specialist, and then????? That’s all a long wait while I feel so ill.

Anyway my question is. If I have to have my lap band removed. IF THERE IS NO FURTHER DAMAGE. Can they replace it immediately with mother Lap Band. I m 68 years old and don’t want a Major surgery of Gastric Sleeve.

as a former band-er..... I would suggest that you remove the fill and see if it gets better. I wish I had done that. Maybe I would still have my band. But, my band had slipped and I couldn't even swallow spit. So, how do they know it slipped? Are you having trouble eating? Drinking?......... Mine was removed 2017 ... went 2.5 years and then I gave in and did the sleeve. I don't regret it, but not one day goes by that I don't miss my band and the control I lost when I lost her...... I listened to everyone but me when I got sleeved. I wish I had went with my gut.

  8. @Arabesque said what I was thinking. Well-cooked anything at is point will not be your friend. Also, the bread is more likely your enemy right now. Try just the patty-cooked med. Cut into tiny bites like the size of your pinky nail. Take a bite, put the fork down, place your hands under your butt, chew at least 20 times, and swallow........ never never have any drink near you. Wait 20-30 min to drink after your last bite. Right now you should only be eating about 3 bites.

Also, try and keep your food log up to date. This way you can go back and see what is working and what is not.

  9. i've had two WLS and regret was not felt...... uncertainty was..... I had a bad case of the "what ifs". I can say at 100% I am happy with where I am today.

My problem was not the SX but the pain meds they gave me.... I can't do Demorol....... I will throw my guts up. Just keep doing your best to walk. In my life i've had 8 SX's and have found that walking really does help the most.

When I went to my 6 week post op consultation ,I happened to sit in close proximity to a woman who had also had the Gastric Sleeve .She thought she looked wonderful - I thought she looked terminally ill ."I'm nearly at my wedding weight " she said proudly .I smiled and said nothing .She was the opposite of how I wanted to look .Her hair was thin and lack lustre , her skin sagging and dull .I listened in horror as she explained she was still trying to lose weight .I thought she summed up the very look I never wanted to have .Her slimness did nothing to inspire me .So I am 3 months post op .I can now walk freely , breathe better ,and I fit into my favourite jeans .I am not at my ideal BMI but if I don't lose further weight ,I'll be content .I eat more healthily and do more . So I suppose that is my story and I'm happy with it .

Happy that you made the choice to have WLS. I'm going to give you a different way of looking at this. LOTS of people (meeee) have body dysmorphia. Crazy but when i was 232lbs (5'2") and i looked in the mirror.... I didn't see 232lbs. I saw what was in my head. In fact I decided to have WLS (lapband) when I saw a picture and didn't know it was me.... the feeling was awful.......... fast forward...... 143lbs (lapband) and all I saw in the mirror was the fat girl............ fast forward....... 2+ years after lapband removed 173lbs I didn't see how terrible I looked again............ Sleeved at 173lbs and now i'm at 125-129 and I still don't see the person everyone else sees in the mirror...... I got down to 120 and i got a lot of "your soooo skinny". It's crazy how the mind plays trick on us...... and yes i'm in therapy.

So she probably doesn't see what you saw.

  13. @Sweetkayl My best friend is the foodsaver. These are a few ideas that work well for "leftovers"

fajita's are a great left over, when my husband and I go eat Mexican, I always take home what's left. I vacuum seal it in one or more bags. It either becomes the next morning Breakfast (mixed with eggs) or for a lunch during the week.

Baked sweet potatoes, also are great. on sunday I will throw a few in the oven and set the oven and then let then sit in there till cool. I cut each one in half, vacuum seal with butter and a tad bit of cinnamon and brown sugar.

Steamed veggies, I love steamed cauliflower. I steam a whole head and cut/portion with a tad of seasoning and butter. I do the same with carrots, green Beans.

Taco meat, I cook up a pound of ground beef/turkey/chicken/deer mix with taco packet. 1/4 cup in each bag. Then I can turn that into salad or mix with refried beans.

Beans, they are great. Today i'm having red beans with diced sausage. (no rice)

All you really need is to make a date with yourself and one day every two week and cook and pre-portion, date it, and freeze it.

  14. just because you can doesn't mean you should. It's very important that you prepare ahead of time.

When we fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

I recently put back 10lbs (at 130), i felt my best at about 123-125. I know these things didn't help me.... I stopped logging my food and I started eating more than my amounts...... Past weekend my in-laws were in town and eating around my mother-in-law is not easy. She is always saying "is that all your going to eat". I felt I was being watched the whole time. So Monday, I started back logging and sticking to my portions...... I have lost 2lbs already.

So, Log your food and pre-portion EVERYTHING.....

A couple of weeks before Covid hit in 2020 & we entered lockdown I bought this outfit & it has been taunting me in my wardrobe ever since. Decided I wasn’t going to wait for a special event any longer so dinner wth my hairdresser current & former stylist was it. New French inspired restaurant in a small country town. My hair looked way better later as we had our regular hair appointment before dinner. The skirt is amazing. Known as the doona skirt as there is a layer of wadding inside. Still didn’t keep me warm enough though lol.

A modern 80s flashback. Tube skirt & matching sweater. Back then I swear I had a wardrobe full of summer & winter versions of this outfit in every colour (yes, I once wore lots of colour). Had court shoes in the matching colours too. The belt is a 2022 twist because the top was a little long proportionally.

PS. That’s not loose skin hanging over the belt. It’s the dense cotton knit fabric & me slouching a bit. 😂😂

PPS - it’s damn freezing here.
