What's your Band's name?
hahaha those are great! I'm thinking of something along the lines of a great ruler. Controlling, but great. I'd say Caesar but I don't want food to stab me in the back. Oh, what the heck, Caesar is great.

Saying Good Bye to Food!
It's known as the "Last Supper Syndrome". I did it, had a few of my favorite things in excess. I said goodbye to overeating and haven't looked back

What's your Band's name?
Today my doctor told me some people name their bands . She logs the name and asks how "enter name here" is doing during appt's. Now for me to find a perfect name...

Pre-Op Diet W/ Diabetes
You need to see your Endocrinologist and they will adjust your rates. I am a type 1 on a pump and I dropped my rates during pre op because I was indeed getting lots of lows initially. I had to eat a couple times and I let my surgeon and nutritionist know and everything turned out great. I know it's scary, but even when I was 2 days post op, I was able to drink some juice when my sugar level dropped a little. My endo had/has me running high (150-200) for now.

Keeping the lap band a secret from friends and family
I tell people I feel aren't ignorant. People I can trust to let ME be the one to decide who to tell. I don't go out of my way to mention it, but with the pre-op/post-op diet I get questions and sometimes other people accidentally talk about it. I have learned my opinion of myself is what matters most to me.

Divorce and the band
Another vote for the band! You come first.

not losing on shakes and lean cuisine???
Did you have anything salty? You could have retained water. 1 pound fluctuation is normal, especially for women. Don't worry, keep up the great work!

Being Banded this Monday - Feb 7th
You can do it! I agree with everyone else, totally normal Just knowing I had my band put in has really changed my mind set and I was worried it wouldn't.

My Fat Passenger (think Dexter)
It really does help whenever the cravings come! I don't mind yelling at my fat passenger but once I start asking her questions maybe then I'll be concerned

Lap Band in Progress
Good luck! I hope it happens soon. And if it doesn't, don't give up

My Fat Passenger (think Dexter)
Anyone that read/watches Dexter knows about his "dark passenger" that is his inner voice that urges him to kill. Well, recently I discovered I have a fat passenger. She is a morbidly obese woman who is addicted to eating. I kept trying to shut her up with cheeseburgers and sadly she started taking over my body. So, I'm not going to give in to the bitch any more . She can whine all she wants but I am taking control back. hahahaha

Simple Math
True that. You could eat 1,000 calories from Twinkies every day and lose weight. You will be malnourished, but calories are calories. Although, keep in mind, running and walking a mile burns the same amount of calories . I know it's logical but sometimes I think it's important to keep in mind. I'd be much more inclined to take an hour stroll every day vs. a 10 minute run.

I'm going with the Sleeve!!
I agree completely. Also, my surgeon, (Center of Excellence, Director of the Program), isn't fond of the sleeve for a few reasons that I agreed with. But, like another person said that I also agree completely with, choices are great

Mine didn't mention anything, but mine was 7.0

Counting Days
Luckily my nutritionist gave me a sheet with exact dates when to start each phase. It's nice to be able just to put them on a calendar. Maybe they can do the same for you?

My Surgery Experience
I'm so glad that the surgery itself made my dedication even stronger. Just knowing it's there makes me feel even more focused. normis, I'm happy for you! 13lbs is quite a bit for such a short time span. bmendoRNurse, nope, no gas ex. My surgeon never recommended it to me. I mostly feel sore at the port site. The nausea I'm sorta happy for because I think it's helping me not eat ravendays, it really is! I'm not a huge fan of Kate Moss but that quote stuck with me. finallyncontrol, thanks for the motivation!

decided to do the Atkins diet
That's what I'm thinking. But, if you're serious, that seems like quite a bit of food and maybe you should get an OK with your nutritionist first. Hope it works out!

I AM STARVING ON PRE-OP DIET
hahahaha no, the surgeon is just preparing your liver Hang in there! You'll look back on this as your first stepping stone. It also makes the post op diet easier to transition to.
