  1. I usually have a protein drink right after working out to help curb the hunger I get. I used to drink it before because I thought I should, but I haven't noticed a difference in drinking afterwards.
  2. Me too, especially if I have it first thing in the morning with nothing else in my system.
  3. If I do have soda, which isn't often, I just let the bubbles escape for about 15 minutes. It's not flat, but close to it. If it's cold it doesn't taste bad.
  4. Yes, during my seminar, I was told I would lose on average 20% slower than a non diabetic.
  5. I add sugar to juice when I've just had a fill and go low. That way I don't have to drink as much and it's just concentrated.
  6. You will be able to get the juice down if you do everything they tell you to. I take things very slow and just in case I have extra swelling, I wait a few extra days before transitioning to firmer foods after a fill. Also, when I do have a low and I JUST had a fill(this actually happened last night), I add a few spoons of sugar to some juice and sip it. It has worked wonderfully and I understand the fear but it will be ok. I have lost about 70lbs and coming up on my 1 year on the 31st. I just got a fill because I have only lost 7lbs since August. It will be harder to lose as a diabetic but you can do it. I let my sugar levels run a little high, 130-160. That way, when I work out, I'm not forced to drink a sugary drinks and it's been easier maintaining my sugar level this way. My A1c is 7.0 and now that I've had the band for a year I'm more comfortable with lows. Let me know about any question I can answer
  7. You look fantastic!
  8. I get dizzy when I stand up, after bending down for more than a minute. My doctor told me it's because I'm not eating enough and lately I have a minimal appetite so I forget to eat. I increased my calories and it has improved.
  9. You look stunning, very inspirational!
  10. It is hard for me as well. I agree with making it moist and chewing well and even smaller bites than usual. Ordering it at fast food never goes well for me too .
  11. Thanks for sharing, a great read!
  12. I had the same thing happen, it never made it down. I got an unfill and things improved dramatically.
  13. It happened to me to and I was worried but I go through waves. As long as the overall trend is going down, I'm not worried any more.
  14. I also lost a lot of my hair to where I could see my scalp. It finally seems to be tapering off.
  15. Isn't it exciting? My husband is deployed and will be back in September. I am also excited to show off the difference

  17. My friend who also has Tricare was denied for a breast reduction only to find out they made a mistake in submitting the paperwork.
