  1. Well everyone, I ended up going to the ER on Sunday night because I literally couldn't keep ANYTHING down... not even Water. I was lucky because my surgeon was in there for another patient. He came in and took all but 1.5 cc's of Fluid out. and I will say it made a WORLD of a difference. Now I have to face the struggles of not eating much. until i can get back in there to get it adjusted and start all over again ... Oh well. I'm working hard to maintain my diet, and do find that I'm still not all that hungry. Cupcake0701- I'm sorry that you go thru the same things that I do! but at the same time I'm glad I'm not a freak show loner either. That's EXACTLY what I have realized too. Its when i try to eat solids if i haven't eaten in a while. The slime is so nasty and builds up to the point of feeling like i will explode. I KNOW that i chew my food and take small bites, but it doesn't matter. It is amazing right now to eat and not feel that with solids. Almost like i expect it to start building up but it doesn't. When i get tightened up again I will make sure to try your trick of eating some broth or soup type "appetizer" before my meals. Well, Keep up the good work and stay encouraged!!!
  2. Ok, so ever since i had my first fill back in January, I have been having this problem. Basically, when I eat (almost all of my meals) doesnt matter what it is, how well i chew it, or anything, I get this really nast mucusy blob that comes up. Its really uncomfortable. It feels like horrible indigestion and its just UNCOMFORTABLE. When it comes out, there is no strain on my stomach or anything it comes straight out. My husbad makes fun of me because he thinks i have just learned how to puke quietly, when in all honesty it just flows out. Its nasty, and once its out I usually can continue eating ANYWAYS... When i called and talked to my nurse and surgeon, they both said they have never heard of it. Has anyone else ever heard of this? or had this problem themselves? I mean I know to stay away from breads, and crackers, etc etc... but typically i cant eat much. When i have my fills I have to go back on liquid and soft foods like Soup and mashed foods for about 3-4 weeks. ITS THE WORST! Anyone in Lapband world with advice would be great!
  3. Thanks Deb I sure will! I will get on right after im banded... ok maybe not right after, but as soon as im feeling better... Thanks for the well wishes!!!
  4. Well the title says it all.... I have finally been approved after being denied twice...and appealing it. Now my bathroom is being occupied because of this liquid diet (which is just horrible.) My doc told me I could have light salads to help with the hunger, but that only makes matters worse. I have already lost 9lbs from not having any soda, and Meal Replacement shakes. My surgery is set for Monday Nov 1st, and I cant wait!!! my nerves are starting to get the best of me but i know im ready. wish me luck!
  5. YAY!!! Im scheduled for Monday Nov 1st. I hate this liquid diet, but so far from being on it almost a week I have lost 9 lbs! I cant wait to go in on Monday because Im ready to get banded!!! My nerves are really kicking in and im so ready to get this over!!! WISH ME LUCK!!!!
  6. My insurance company (aetna) denied me, and told me to take a sleep apnea test, then after the saw i have it they still denied me... I appealed it and they then approved. I received a call from my sleep lab telling me to come and get my cpap. I told them I wasnt interested in getting it since my surgery is on monday. She told me I couldnt have my surgery without being on it. When I talked to my surgeons office they told me not to worry about it... so im not. I hope it all goes well for you!!! I wouldnt make a big deal about it unless they do!
  7. They DENIED ME! they said that because my BMI was under 40 in 08, (it was only 38), they said I needed a co-morbidity to prove I NEED the surgery... Now i have to have a sleep study!
  8. So my doctors office told me today that the insurance wanted more info on my weight info from the past two years. is this common? I was about 25lbs lighter two years ago, will this affect my approval???? is this normal???
  9. My surgery is scheduled for the same date a.vazquez84!!! yay! Aug 26th. I was told I only h ave to do one week of liquid diet prior to surgery
  10. Okay, so I have been doing all of my pre-op stuff since January and I cant believe how quick it passed. I didnt loose much weight during my diet, but i didnt gain any either. I met all the requirements, and now im just waiting. This is the most impatient I think I have ever been. I have called my insurance company twice and the 2nd time i called they said they had just received the info, and that there was a lot more info they needed from the doc. Now Im worried that I wont be able to have my surgery on the 26th, which is what we scheduled at the docs, it is a pendind authorization surgery. Keep me in your prayers as I really need this to go through soon! any comments are welcome
  11. I was just submitted for approval, and if all goes well im getting my band on the 26th of this month. She set me in the schedule as "pending approval" but once I get my approval, I know that is when my surgery will be. I love my surgeons office, they are FANTASTIC!
  12. Ok, so all of my Pre-op approval appointments are complete, and I have met with every person in the state of VA, to get cleared lol. My papers were submitted yesterday, and I have my fingers crossed to get my approval. I really hope this works, My surgeon has a "proposed" surgery date of 8/26....
  13. Congrats! im hoping to have my surgery come the end of august, and I feel pretty much like you do! I cant wait to have it to start taking control of my life! Im happy for you!!!!!
