  1. Tamra- My daycare is in Oakley which is a samll town sandwiched inbetween Antioch and Brentwood. I have openings right now, but If you want to try doing play dates with my boys to start her out that might be a better transition. Then if you and your daughter become comfortable with my boys and me then we can work somthing out. I always do trial periods because it is important to me that everyone (parent and child) is comfortable you know? Liz- I did get the link to the Richmond Binder, and I also some how Googled my way into the Fremont one too. I know that with all that information plus what I am reading here will prob. make me bored but call me crazy, I am excited to be bored you know!
  2. Tamra, I got this packet when I went to the required weight loss class before being reffered to the Fremont Kaiser. It list support groups and only shows Antioch, Livermore & Walnut Creek Kaiser as well as the Walnut Creek John Muir. I think that is beacuse I am from the Antioch area so that is the list they gave me. I would go to the richmond one tonight, but I have another thing to do in concord for my home daycare that I run  But Maybe next time. I know how you feel about the need for other pre-banders, so maybe we can start our own social group instead of another thread. I think I just joined the Northern California Bay Area on that you are on, so sumthing like that. I would just hate for the banded ones to leave cause I like to hear their stuff
  3. PS. I can't waith for my orientation on Sunday!!!!!!
  4. Good luck to Maria this AM!!!! Hope you guys who are going to the EG Meeting today have fun! Anyone live close to go to the Antioch Kaiser meetings or the ones at John Muir in Walnut Creek? Candra, you are so funny with the girdle thing!!! ROTFLMAO!!!! Liz, I’m on Facebook too, but it’s the same for me…no one knows that I will be going for this! Hehe! I will PM you too! I don’t mind the big group, I actually like it. It seems less like a clique! Besides all of you post ops are good at answering questions, like this: Do you have to lose weight before each fill? Even if the band is not giving enough restriction? Oh, does anyone have the BodyBug or the GoWear Fit? Lee, I am in the same boat as you with the corn! My grandma bought me an early xmas present and it was an old fashion popcorn maker!!!!! Ugh what’s a girls to do!!!!!!! I can’t lie though I realy wanted it for my boy’s birthday parties!!!! Canoli, I think that we are gona have the same surgery goal of 225! So with the body suits, if you wait until you lose all the weight wont it be counterproductive at that point since the goal of wearing it is to help you re-shape your body overtime so that eventuly you don’t need it? Or are you supposed to wear it FOREVER?
  5. Thank you Riley for the info! Patatos are a trigger for me too :wink2: I don't usely snack at all, and I don't drink soda, or coffe so liquid calories are out for me. I'm just feeling a little intimidated about the 1200 cal diet and I'm fearful of the hunger pains by lowering portions! But yet I can see what you are saying about getting used to smaller portions too. Hmmm whats a girl to do!
  6. Oh speaking of the pre-op 1200 cal diet... Did anyone just do Atkins instead? I know I can lose 25-30 on it in 3 months (I have 4-5 years ago).
  7. Sounds like you ladies had fun! Hope everyone is doing well this am! 7 more days till my orientation-I can't wait!
  8. Hi everyone I think my post from this am got lost in the shuffle LOL! So I'm gona post it again Morning All! Just checking in, I haven't posted in a few days, I'm still reading up on all of your previuos post to get more information on the LB. I am absolutly sure that I want the LB! I am also getting anxious for my orientation  I have been trying to maintain my 240 weight since I always fluctuate about 5 lbs both ways! I weigh myself yesterday at my grandma's house and it said 245  I want to make sure that I qualify for surgery, but gosh I sure am ready to lose weight!!!!!!! These last 10 days before orientation are gona kill me! :tt2: Anyhoo, I know that my orientation is in Fremont, but it's ok that I tag along with you all, right? I still have not found anyone on this sight that has been banded by Fremont yet and you all seems so full of suport and knowledge! Ash-

  10. Jess have you tried Spanks? I swear they work wonders. I found them at Lane Bryant, Torrid and sometimes Target!
  11. Hi Ladies! I have an apointment for the orientation in 20 days, so I called them to ask why I was sent to the Fremont Kaiser Bariatric department and not Richmond and they said it is becasue I am in their referal area since I live near the Antioch Kaiser and my PCP is in Antioch Kaiser. So I posted a seperate thread looking for people who have been banded by the Fremont Kaiser WL center. I have heard that they do not like to let their patients get the band but rather RYN. I am dead set on the band. Anyone know of how this might go?
  12. Sorry if this thread has already been started, but I searched for hours and can't see the info that I need. I live in the Antioch Kaiser Area. My Dr. sent my referal for WLS to the Fremont Kaiser Bariatric department. I have an apointment for the orientation in 20 days, so I called them to ask why I was sent to them and not Richmond and they said it is becasue I am in their referal area. While there is plenty of info on the Richmond Kaiser surgery caenter, I can not find any on the Fremont Kaiser. This concerns me as I have read just a few post on another site where others have said that while they do offer Lap Band, the surgens tend to lean twards RYN and push their patients to do so. When I was talking to the receptionist at the Fremont center, she did say that they do less LB's and that it is mostly based on what the surgun recomends. While I know that I should take what the surgen has to say into consideration, I feel that LB is the only way to go for me. I have been researching it for some time now, and I know what I need. So what I need to know is there anyone on here that has succesfully been banded at the Fremont surgery center and what is your story? Thank you all for your help!
  13. Ok, So I did not hear back from my PCP yesterday so I called in and found out that she finaly sent the referal yestersday! The only down side is that she sent it for the Fremont Office. Which I did tell her to get me in with whoever has the first available appointment for orientation. And my orientation is set for Nov. 22 on a Sunday. I know this is the Richmond board but is there anyone on here that went to the Fremont one?
  14. Thank you ladies for the input. Im kinda scared to change PCP's in the middle of this process. I don't want to have to reexplain to a new PCP why I need this surgery! But we will see how that gose. My curent PCP has untill today to get back to me before I throw a fit LOL . To Pat & Candra, What are some things that you did to maintain the 40 BMI while you waited for the Orientation?
  15. Hi Everyone, I'm new here. I just had my Weight Loss Surgery Class at my local Kaiser and then sent a message to my PCP to send my referal to Richmond Surgery Center for Orientation. I am excited and ready to go but Kaiser's process can be a bit dounting! I have sent 2 emails to my PCP last week as well as put a call into the message center for her to call me ASAP for the referal and still no answer. My hight is 5'4" and I am 243 lbs. So my BMI is right at 41. Last month it was 235 which is 39.5 BMI and my weight has been fluctuation for the past 6 months between those two weights. So I need to maintain my weight untill orientation in order to be at 40 BMI to qualify. Anyone else have this issue? Also I know everyone's Kaiser plans are different, but what was you typical co payments for each apointment prior to surgery and for the actual surgery as well as fills post op? Thanks, Ash Ps. I look foward to talking to each of you!
