    Don't get me sick!

I recommend - DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE! That's how viruses and germs get in. Maybe one of those surgical masks? lol I hope you stay well. I can't imagine a common cold would prevent surgery, but if you run a fever...maybe.

    4 Month Follow-up Appointment Today

WTG, Tiff. Looks like you are getting very close to the "end"! And I am very excited for you and your husband that you will be starting a family soon. How great that your child(ren) will have a healthy, happy (beautiful) mom!

    Part of a new club...almost

Wow - that's pretty powerful...It's like being in the popular group at school! You earned it, Deedee!!!
  5. I'm sending you wishes for a noneventful surgery and a swift recovery! Good luck and keep us posted! Ren?
  6. Hey, Bambi!

I just replied to your other post before I saw this one! I'm totally thinking about the sleeve all the time! My hubby is still not enthusiastic, but I think he has resigned himself to the inevitability...

I am so happy you are making your way through the process. I hope your insurance approval comes through quickly - we could be sharing the experience together in January!

Congratulations on your "selfish" decision. Who's going to do that for you? No one! In fact, your assertion helps me feel better about my own "selfishness." Thanks for that!

    Breasts:

I'm dreading my post-weight loss boobs. I am currently a DDDD, or a G in European sizes. I'm predicting two floppy, empty skin bags!!! Even in high school, I had D size boobs and weighed 125 lbs. So maybe they won't disappear all the way? Time will tell!

    Monday Morning Weigh In

You go, girl!!! I love reading your posts - you inspire me! Keep up the good work, and forgive yourself those little "indiscretions". You will be back on track in no time. Ren?

    No Scale...

Good resistance to that scale impulse, Deedee! I think the lack of cable is far more tragic!!!
  16. My guy does surgeries on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the 31st works best for my schedule. I still have some tests to do - EKG, Chem panel, Metobolic panel, and a letter approving me for suegery from my PCP. Good luck with your next guy - I hope he's better than the first guy you talked to.

Also, I'm a self pay, so I don't have to do all the insurance stuff. That's another reason it was quick!

Let me know how it goes!

    Ren?

  17. Hey, Bambi!

I love my surgeon. I think you should look around, too. You need one that has done several HUNDRED sleeves with NO leaks! Those are my guy's stats. He's very personable. His kids go to the school I work for, which means I can get all of his home info and phone numbers (incl cell) from my computer! haha

I think this is a huge step to take. Don't be a guinea pig...

My surgery date is New Year's Eve! Of course, when I called DH, he wasn't so good about that date. Oh, well. There's always something, isn't there?

I'll be interesyed to hear about your new surgeon search. Let me know!

First time in front of the class

I'm so happy for you, Deedee! You will be a FANTASTIC instructor! The act that you are as concerned as you are guarantees it! Congrats!
  19. Same here. I hear no regrets, which is good, I think. My surgeon consult is this morning. I'll be back with more details!

    Why so few posters?

I have been alternating between this site and OH's VSG message board. I noticed that there are few posts from sleevers in general, compared to the other surgeries. Why is that? I know the sleeve is newer, and fewer people have had it. But I also think (hope) that sleevers have the fewest complications/problems, thus do not post looking for help as much. Also, perhaps sleevers don't need the constant support that bandsters do, for example, because there are fewer adjustments/changes with the sleeve. At least, that is what I am hoping. And if you are sleeved and just lurking...please post! We soon-to-be-sleevers have enquiring minds and want to know! My surgeon consult is Monday morning. Man, am I excited!!!!!!

    Much Better Day

Nice, Deedee! I knew it would get better for you, girl!!!

    YEAH! Onederland Today!

Congratulations, Ky.Hen! You have worked hard to get to Onederland. Reward yourself!!!
  24. Men are so weird. My DH is also all about the money. I'm a little insulted that the $ seems more important to him than the surgery itself! (risks, post-op, complications, etc.) I guess it is a safer topic than "How will my life be different?"

My consult is Monday. So excited! I don't want to do any work...just read about the sleeve!!!

  25. Hi deedee. I just realized you had replied to me with a question...I'll get the hang of this eventually! I am still pre-op, but get to meet w/my surgeon Monday. I plan to get sleeved early January. So excited! I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work. I just want to talk about/read about the sleeve experience!
