  1. Nobody with morals and a proper upbringing.
  2. Does he do abdominoplasty also or strictly a boob guy? It's a little early for me but it's really never to early to research and plan. Never mind!! Went to his website and apparently he does tummy tuck too.
  3. Welcome to the jungle and congrats. I am in Keller and finally got my date, March 2nd after 3 weeks of Optifast. I can't wait to get it over with.
  4. I think just that; our bodily functions including thought, stop and our bodies decompose. Hopefully in that order. Amen!
  5. General Mills has a product line called Fiber-One. It is an assortment of mostly Breakfast foods that are loaded with fiber and all are delicious. Fiber One | Cardboard no. Delicious yes.
  6. I am sorry to be this blunt but "STOP EATING TOO MANY CARBS!" Eat your Proteins first and that will leave less room for the carbs.
  7. Trust me, it is even harder for some of us to understand how anyone can believe in a god and we are far from hopeless. We live one day at a time and don't get stressed out about whether or not we are going to a good or bad place for eternity. We take responsibility for our actions and decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. But the best thing is, we sleep in on Sundays without guilt.
  8. NO! At least according to my surgeon's office. I asked at least a half dozen times and the answer was always the same, "we use your weight from the first consultation." Ask your surgeon before you go wasting 6 months trying to stay as fat as you can. It's only more weight you will have to lose later.
  9. One last thing. If you buy it and don't like it, you can always sell it on E-bay with the remainder of your subscription.
  10. Called surgeon's office today and they said probably March 1 or 2 but the girl I have been dealing with is new and I am beginning to think, clueless. I am still optimistic about February. I wouldn't totally discredit the article for his one slip but like I said, I have a lot more faith in real world experience than some guy doing a study with people of all different sizes. Some of the other links that say starvation mode does not exist refer back to studies done in the early seventies. They didn't even put nutritional facts on packaging back then.
  11. They are always out of stock. So, they must be great!! I called Wal-mart last week and it just so happens that the Wal-marts in the DFW area are getting some in tomorrow. If you buy one, make sure you get the one with the board. It is useless without the board. A few friends have warned me on that. And anybody else reading this: Be aware that there is a 330 pound weight limit. It will absolutely not work if you weigh more.
  12. Congrats!! Find some way to reward yourself like a massage or something. You deserve it.
  13. Here is quote from this article: When he starts talking about his "Maker" anything he says is conjecture and not scientific fact. Don't read just the articles. Check out real fat people's blogs. They speak from experience not conjecture.
  14. It takes fuel to burn fuel. The more fuel you add to the fire, the hotter it burns. While in starvation mode, your body is being very conservative as to where it burns calories and how many. When you give your body enough calories to function normally it will burn more. This is where the BMR comes into play.
  15. I guess I stand corrected but it makes absolutely no sense to me. I am not a doctor and don't even play one on the internet (contrary to wacky Janet's opinion). From everything I have read; starvation mode is real and can keep you from losing weight. I have seen nothing about actually gaining weight. How much energy were you expending and were you exhausted much of the time?
  16. You always have to wear the armband. The other device shows you in real time how many calories you have burned for the day and how many steps you have taken. It is $79.99 and kind of useless unless you can't wait until you get home to download and see the data.
  17. Just tell them that if they persist you want nothing to do with them or else ignore them until they ask you why.
  18. It is an armband that measure only calories out. Here's a link to the site: How it Works
  19. Whatever you decide to do, find a different surgeon to do it. If he put the band in right the first and second times it probably would not have slipped. Who was the surgeon? Please, please, please don't say Dr. Kim in Colleyville.
  20. March ............
  21. Look at the forum that it is posted in. If there is going to be a debate (an argument) about it, this is the place for it. 30 people have voted so far and only 2 have posted an opinion. As I said, nobody was required to justify anything. I wasn't looking for debate, I am just curious how far we have come.
  22. Give Dr Kim's office a call and they can tell you what will be required from you. I got the information on Aetna from them before I even visited. Bariatric Weight Loss LAP-BAND System Gastric Bypass Surgery Arlington Dallas Fort Worth (Ft. Worth) Texas (TX) Then you can judge how difficult it will be.
  23. It will be February here in less than 25 hours and I still don't have a date yet. Am I the only one that may have to pack their bags and get off of this thread?
