  1. HI, Thanks for checking out my Blog. Have you had the Surgery yet? When is your scheduled date? I wish you much success!

  2. Hi tedwa3!

I wish you much luck with your upcoming banding! I know you are so excited, you have a beautiful smile! You will really smile when you have the band, you are not hungry at all!!! I never feel that burning feeling like "I'm starving to death!" anymore, and it is easy to control the quanities of food that you will eat, your weight will come off and you will be so happy that you made this decision.

  3. Your welcome, you have inspired me to start to work on a Blog too. It looks like such a great project!

  4. Hi, It is under your statistics page I think, find avatar and change it or add a photo from your browser. You can click on the question mark and I think it will also prompt you to ask you for a change or add a photo.

  5. Good Morning Shonette! It is cold here in Florida! I am so proud of the way you send your grandsons lunch to school! Wow! He will thank you one day! I wish they would bring back the Presidents Physical Fittness program into the schools.

I went for a fill in two days ago, and since then I am down two lbs. Down to 200.8 and so wanting to get under 200! Have not been there in over 15 years! It will be my point to get really excited! I might even SHOUT! LOL

I was only on liquids for 48 hours so I know that got me kick started on losing the weight! I was so hungry at 5:00 yesterday when I got home I just wanted to start grazing on anything! But thank God I had pre-cooked some veggies! I did have an ounce of peanuts! (the oil from them is good for you)

Keep up the good work, and keep in touch! It is 18 degrees this am and I am freezing! Since this weight loss, I have to layer my clothing to keep half way warm!

  6. Hi Subie66! Glad to have you as a friend here on LBT! Love this site, it helps me so much. I look forward to logging on at nite.

  7. Hey did you make in to 199 yet? I still need to get under 200 and working hard, but it is hard. Once I do that I think it will be smooth sailing from then on. I did great on the Cruise, cheated a couple of times. Ate all I wanted and when I was full I had to stop! It actually hurt to eat anymore, then I went and danced! Then to the Shows at night and on to the casino. Watched my sister, she won $150.00.

  8. Getting in the Christmas Spirit now. I think it is time for a new outfit, maybe some new jeans and and red sweater? Feeling happy about where I am and where I am going. Got to get that last few pounds worked off now before the end of the year.

  9. I know about the baking thing on rainy days, I wanted to bake some brownies so bad. But I didn't. Learning the way of the band. I like your avatar photo! You have a lovely smile. Best wishes.

  10. I've been accused of that, being positive! LOL and of course you can! Anytime I am here, I check the site daily but only post every few days.

  11. Hey I am like you I love the pot roast! Roast period, yummy, if I can't have much food then give me the food I love!!?? Right? I substituted the potatoes with asparagus and brussel sprouts at the last minute, still had the carrots and they are soooo goood in the soup portion. Just miss the Southern Corn Bread that went with it! LOL but If I ate the bread, then I would not be able to hold the stew. I am looking forward to fall, it is my favorite time of year.

  12. Thanks Shonette, I am doing great, getting ready for my daughters wedding, it could be stressful, but I want to keep it Beautiful! Whatever she wants is what she will get, My husband is getting a little anxious, she is the last one to leave our nest out of four, but she has dated this young man for eight years during which time she finished college and is an RN, she helps me a lot on advise with my LapBand, she even recommended the Dr. that I used. She is my baby girl! I so thank God for all the blessings in my life and my wonderful LapBand friends as well. Hope all is coming along well for you.

  13. Well today I threw up for the first time. I tried eating a peice of Steak of the Grill, it was tough, and I should have spit it out! I was also in a hurry, never do that Again! Thanks for the comments luckyfive101, as of today I am down 48 lbs from my pre-op diet before the surgery. I am so pleased with the LapBand. It is so strange to see people you have not seen in 40 years and they tell you that you haven't changed. I still was so much heavier than when I was in school, but it felt great to hear the compliments. I have another photo shoot for the hospital in 30 days. I hope to look good then, going on the Mexico Cruise on the 26th, Thanksgiving Day. I am going to wear a slinky little black dress!!! Can't wait. My third fill is tight, so I am having to work with it. Sapphire and Viney I hope all is going well with you both too and that your getting Slimmer!

  14. Thanks for my birthday wishes! I had a great time, spent a lazy morning at home, and on the computer then I went out to eat with a Skinny friends she weighs 122 and thinks she needs to lose down to 117!! She is awesome and so beautiful! Went shopping and found a top to wear to the rehearsal dinner for my daughters wedding, size 14! I am lovin it! I still have large boobs, did not lose but a couple of inches in that dept! Ate out and then the movies! Lots of fun! Thanks Again, keep up the good work, love your blogs too.

  15. Doing great! So nice not to be throwing up everything! I finally feel nourished, now back to the Gym tomorrow! The little bit of unfill I got did the trick, now I need to take off the next 10 lb increment of weight, going to start walking again as well, just miss the exercise, going on Vacation can really get one off track!

  16. Thanks so much for my birthday wishes. I had a great day, went shopping with a friend out to dinner and to a movie. Saw Knight and Day, it was a cute movie! Gained a lb this morning, but ate at Red Lobster! It was so good, no cake, but I did sneak one of those little biscuits! Hey, it was my Birthday, right?

  17. Thanks so much for your Birthday well wishes. I did have some cake, not too much the day before my birthday, but last night at Red Lobster, I went for a biscuit instead, I LOVE those little things. They are so darn tasty! LOL I ate it slow as to not clog up anything. I had shrimp scampi and crab legs, very good! I too do not feel shame, real life will always happen and we will fit into it nicely! God Bless you!

  18. Yes Judy! Alaska was awesome! At first I was excited to go and then lost some of my enthusiasm. Then when we reached Seattle WA, I got excited again, it was like nothing I had ever imagined!!! The only challenge I had WAS with eating! I could not eat anything hardly, but actually gained 4 lbs on the trip! When Cortizone is released into our bodies from stress sometimes, our stomachs swell, thus tightening the band around it, I think I had a too tight fill also just before I went on the trip, so I threw up a lot, when throwing up, it makes the stomach swell and the band tight, so when I got back from Alaska I went in and had .04 cc taken out, and lost about 6 lbs! So I am back on track now! The food was awesome by the way, what I got to stay down! LOL This month is my one year Bandiversary, I have lost 91 lbs so far and very happy and contented with the band, and I believe I will lose more in the next couple of years. Have fun and be sure to post photos for us to view.

  19. Thanks for my birthday wishes! It was a great one! Had a little biscuit instead of cake last night at Red Lobster, I just LOVE those tasty things, but I ate at it slow so it would not get stuck! I was happy on my birthday! NOW Back to the losing game! Low Carbs, High Protein!

  20. I think it is very BRAVE in annoucing that you had the surgery! Cute Blog name too! Love it! I told almost everyone because I was so happy for ME~~and I have never regretted it. MOST everyone was very supportive, except those few who would be jealous, but never were very complementary before either, so I just moved on! God is so good and provides me with daily encouragement! And I love this site too, because it gives us a place to share a common thread and vent as well. Welcome aboard, I am praying for you continued health and success!

  21. I too slow down and people ask me what size are you now? How much do you weigh? Rather that give them a play by play which is really none of their business, I just say, I am getting to the size I want to be! Faster than I thought possible, and I weigh 91 lbs less than I did a year ago. Just be general, they won't press the issue too much then. I did not want to dissapoint my Dr. and I wanted to lose 10 lbs per month on avg. But you CAN'T! When your body has dropped about 50% of its excess body fat, you WILL SLOW down and you won't be able to help it! I am losing 4-5 lbs per month now, and that is OK with me. Tell them this is a three year journey. The band does the most for you the first year, but for three years you can expect weight loss to occur if you follow a sensible eating plan. I am looking forward to year three now with great anticipation and I am going to work harder at toning up now too. Best Wishes!

  22. Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to you! I am looking forward to a year of getting closer to my goal weight, and feeling better. My wish for all is to have health, the best asset of all! Bless You!

  23. Your post was so right on, I do hate to waste too, money or food??? So I ate string cheese today on the ride back home with about six ladies. They wanted to stop at an all you can eat Country Southern Buffet, I stopped with them but you could not order off a menu only eat the buffet for $11.00 I KNEW I could not eat but a small childs plate of anything anyway, so decided not to eat. Then stopped on the way home this evening and ate two crispy tacos on the way home by myself, relaxed!

  24. Hi! Glad to add you as a friend, we need all we can get! I really think this site saved my life! I would not have gotten this information from the hospital or the Doctor who performed my surgery. THEY simply do not know how we feel, because they have not had the surgery themselves.

  25. You have to go in and click Avatar to change a profile pic! We have lost about the same! Doing Great Feeling Great! Yeah Success feels good. It is 8 months down for me, and you are only two weeks before my surgery, so I think you are 8 1/2 months out only too! You had your band on my birthday!!!! Keep up the good work!
