    Freakin' Holidays

I totally chuck thing in the trash. My students' mothers make cookies and things. I say thank you, wrap them in a napkin, and then chuck them as soon as I get free! If they ask I tell them they were great!

    So Many Questions

Good luck! I was so excited to get my band and then as they were wheeling me into surgery I thought, WHAT?! But I am so happy now!
  4. look at your babyyyy! So cute! Congrats!
  5. Hi All! I just joined today. Need that extra push so I can keep motivated AND wear something flirty and fun for the big V-DAY (which is, more importantly, my DH's birthday!)

    Bones & "squishiness"

Lol remember in Bridget Jones's Diary when she is making out with the young guy and he says 'Mmmmm....you're all squashy!' and she grabs her clothes and books it out of there. Tooo funny. I've got the squish going on too. I hate when my husband jiggles me. It's a gross feeling.
  7. That would be a great title for a book!

Save that Drammy for your Mammy

I know that autopilot feeling regarding the drive thru! That was me last summer. I just kept driving up! I would offer to go to the store so that I could eat McNuggets on the way. I'm so impressed you could just look at it and not start snarfing. I'm getting there too. Doesn't it feel good to break that habit?

New here, want to stop in and say HII!!

Welcome Elizabeth! That's my middle name and I've always favored Beth or Betsy as the nickname for that. Congrats and good luck on your appointments and such!

    Sweet Spot

Congratulations! I just had my 2nd fill and am at 6 cc. I feel really good now. Full for a long time and easily full.
  11. I saw your photos. Great job!

  12. Is it actually made from Bacon? I looooove bacon but my husband doesn't eat pork. I'll buy it anyway but I might have to hide it!

    Is this normal???

Wow Hillmama you have some complex emotions going on there! It sounds to me like you are brave and a strong woman. People respond to surgery in different ways and although you say you feel less emotionally stable now since this last surgery, I think you are who you are and you will balance out again eventually. As for the nervousness with your surgeon, I understand! I feel shy around mine too because I am newly banded and am always wondering what he is thinking when he sees me. Am I losing to little, too slowly, etc. I know its not the same as you but I want you to know you're not alone having unexplainable emotions! I hope you will find balance and peace soon!
  14. I flew home 2.5 days after surgery. By then the gas pain had passed and I was feeling delicate but excited! Do you have to fly so soon? The day after I had alot of gas pressure so was walking around the apartment alot. I would have preffered a car to a plane at that point, but not if I had to drive! I still felt kind of out of it.

Oh how I miss christmas shopping! I used to hate it so much but now that I live in a country where it doesn't exist, all I can think about is that jam-packed Macy's with the blasting carols! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

  17. Protein Protein Protein! I use a whey one from GNC but I guess they have all sorts of options! It will keep your hair in your head and your nails from breaking.

    Starting over

Good for you. You are going to do great! About the flying - I fly regularly, starting 2 days after surgery as well as to and from my fill appointments. I've never had any problems. The best part is noticing how much more comfortable in the seats I am becoming as I lose. :sneaky:

Kiz you always give such great advice on the boards. I just wanted to say hi! By the way, are you turkish? Kız means girl in turkish and your nickname caught my eye.

    Have a great day!

me two months post op 234 lbs

You are so cute! I love your hair color. Mine was that color when I was a child but kept getting darker as I got older. Now it's something between brown and auburn. Your skin and hair are gorgeous!
  21. Michelle, Thanks so much! I actually had my surgery last saturday the 19th. Guess I forgot to change my profile! I'm doing great. Glad to meet some other ladies near my own age to communicate with!

    All Set For Sept 9th

Congratulations!!! I'm a bit nervous, I will admit. I am so encouraged by reading all the positive messages on this site. No support groups where I live, so I'm definitely happy to have lapbandtalk.com!

    September 18!!

Me toooo! 9/18 must be a lucky day! I'll pray for you all and hope you'll send one out for me too. I live in Turkey so am far away from my family, but my husband will be with me so I'm feeling ok. Mostly nervous about anesthesia. I've always been paranoid about it!
  25. Hi! I'm Katie, 29 originally from Northern Virginia but living in Turkey now. I'm being banded in Istanbul on 9/19 and would love someone to talk with, ask questions from, and generally have a life-line! I'm trying to stay optimistic about the upcoming change in my life, especially as I read through all the postings here on the site! I'm 5'9 and about 260. Goal weight 160. At my highest I was probably around 300, but I had stopped weighing myself. That was 6 years ago. Within that time I dropped 100lbs through diet, exercise, and change of scenery. However, I slowly gained it back. Now I'm back at 260, and although I can and have lost weight on my own before, I am ready for something that will help me keep it off and reach my goal weight! Anyway, I'm looking forward to being matched with someone positive and encouraging, but also realistic and honest. xox, KT:wub:
