  1. Happy 27th Birthday Kris110385!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary Kris110385!

  3. Hello! Tonight is the first night my husband and I will be going on a date sence my surgery. I am on soft foods and very little solid foods (still testing the waters..) I was wondering what successful restaurant foods everyone has grown to love??? Any suggestions as to what to look for to order??
  4. Hello All! Okay I am so lucky I found this post. I did not cheat once on my pre-op diet I was a crazy person and stuck with the diet like it was life or death! However, now that I have 5 days post op I just want to eat everything!!! In fact I had a cup of applesauce this morning and now all I can think about is what I can have for lunch! I must say the thought of straying away from what the can and can not list is definitely in my mind! I am not sure if I am just bored and tired of sitting at home and need to get my butt back to work or what the deal is but I do know that I am realllllllly hungry! Is it bad to switch to solid foods at this point maybe not a burger by any means but I mean soft solid foods of coarse.. Thanks for your help!
  5. Hello, I also had my band in on Friday! I had a really rough weekend, nothing was staying down liquids and pain meds... but with a quick ER trip another day in recovery I am home now and things are looking up. I am planing on going back into work on Thursday. Hopefully that will be enough time. Keep me posted with how your doing, I would love to hear your stories.

Do you have a goal prize?

My plan is to go on another honeymoon with my husband and live it up like I wish we would have been able to on the first one. Including taking 1000 more pictures to replace the previous ones!
  7. Thank You to everyone. Once I saw the "call your doctor asap" I knew it wasn't normal. I called and I was admitted into the ER yesterday morning two hours later... I just got home this morning. At least I'm not dehydrated anymore. Well will see how today goes. Thanks for everyone's support!
  8. I am on my third day post op. I can't keep anything down including the pain medication... Is this normal? Will it eventually go back to normal?
  9. I am just wrapping up my three month supervised diet. Within the three months I have lost 7 gained 4 then lost 2. I was just curious if anyone else has BCBS - Texas. If so was it hard to get an approval out of them. I am hoping to send in all the paperwork the first week of January (if everything goes as planned) does it take days, weeks, months? Or is it really just how ever fast my doctor moves is how fast the insurance will move. Also I feel a tad by the wasteside. I have only been in contact with my insurance once, and that was just to see even if they would cover the lap-band. Is that normal? Why does it feel I have been so stagnent for the last few months? Is that what it's suppose to be like. I just really want things to start moving quickly!!! I'm tired of waiting!!
  10. Just checking in, seeing how everything is going? Any knew progress?

    Got Denied but that's ok

That is unfortunite. I have to ask though, when do you know when you should be requesting an approval letter from BCBS? Does the surgeon do that or is that in our hands to take care of? I am in my first month of my "supervised" diet. I go back in on the 28th of October. Would I put in for a request after that. Thanks for any info! I feel like I am gaining more and more questions as I go along and everytime I read a different topic.
  12. YAY! Well I am certainly always glad to kill two birds with one stone! I am 23 soon to be 24. I just got married 4 months ago. We have been together about 5 years. When we first started dating I was the "ideal" 155. I gradually and unwillingly gained slightly over 100. I suppose I was in denial for years of the gradual weight gain. However, It was always that elephant in the room! I saw my wedding photos and I was just astonished. It was almost like a slap in the face, I knew I just was so unhappy. I didn't get to have the wedding dress of my dreams because every bridal shop we went to only have sizes 4-10 to try on it felt like. I havn't told my husband yet what I am going to do. Not that I think he won't support me but more like I would love to not bring attention to something we have always know was there but yet opt not to talk about. Obesity runs in my family, my uncle and my mother definitely struggle. My Mom fortunitely had gastic bypass 6 years ago. I thank god every day I see her that she did. She is so happy and loves life and lives it to the fullest everyday! I have never seen her so happy. I wish she would have done it sooner. So I know I do not want to let it get that out of control I want to put an end to it now. As for not having a safety net. I suppose it will still be there however, you will probably learn really quick as to what it is willing to take and what it just won't. At first it's hard to get things "threw" In time in moderation I hear it's easier but simply only as a "treat" not a permanent fixation.
  13. Sandy, I know that the nutritionist is covered if you have diabetes. That is mainly why I will not be going there because I do not have that. I'm not quite sure what my primary doctor thinks I suppose! Ha! I suppose I will find out Thursday. As for what she may think. I suppose I will take it with a grain of salt. My mind is already made up people can agree to disagree I suppose. That is unfortunite that more often then not you are not excited for the anticipation of starting a new life. I'm not sure what age you are at. But I do know that I am just elated with the idea of everything a "new life" will have to offer me. Just the thought of wondering if going to try on clothes will make me cry this weekend or perhaps the next. Not wanting to go out with my husbands friends because I'm afraid what there wives will say behind my back. but Mainly for myself. I simply want to be happy, I know the only obstacle in my life is my weight. It is making me very unhappy, I know I do not and will not live like this much longer. So it was either do something about it or just let it conquer me. and so here we are. But you do have to do it for you. Are you afraid of the surgery party? The lifetime commitment?
  14. Sandy, I am actually not going to there place in Elgin. Mainly becasue they do not except BCBS PPO. Plus I wasn't to sure about having to go to a psych. everytime you went to see the nutritionist. I think I actually jumped the gun on going for the sleep apnea test. I went to the first consultation and Dr. Guske made it seem like the test was imparative. So I made sure to do it right away. However, it turns out I didn't need to do it until probably during my third month. I will just be going to see my normal doctor for the three month diet. They told me to call back after my second month to get things going with the psych. eval, pulmanary, and so on. So I suppose I am in limbo at the moment! Yes I do beleive we are on the same scheduale it looks like! That's comforting! Sorry to talk to your ear off, it's just nice to talk to someone who is literally going to/through everything I am.
  15. Sandy - That's fantastic! It's good to see you getting the ball rolling! I have my first doctor's visit on Thursday Morning. I also have to wait 3 months due to insurance. I suppose it could be worse it could be 6 right! 3 months I think will fly by! With all the doctor's appointments and tests things are bound to just keep coming. I had my sleep apnea test last night at the Kane Center. Let's just say... interesting. I have never done anything like that. Sort of what I expected, sort of a little beyond. Everyone was very nice, luckly I can pretty much sleep anywhere! So fortunitely I was out like a light after Leno! Do you have to do that? Amartyn - Where you able to pull some strings and get your surgery done quicker?
